Probe Hangs up
Hi folks,i have got the following problem. I use two machines (2003 Server). On one i have installed the central server and on the other one the probe. After generating the key (zip file) and after including it on the other machine (probe). I have got the problem that the probe always hangs (at the startup). The connection between these locations is with an ssh-tunnel. I have opend port 80,443 and the snmp. Finally someone can give me a hint
Probe hangs
Hi, i have got a problem. I have installed the central server in our network and the probem in one of our locations, outside. The connection to the probe is with an ssh-tunel. I followed the instructions and i have created an key and i have insered it (meanwhile the installation of the probe) After a reboot of both machines (central server & probe) i want to start the probe. But it hangs always or it seems to start, but the icon in the task is black and in 3-5 seconds you can't see it anymore.
Monitoring Status
I want to monitor the current status of hardware such as hard drives, ok, degraded, etc. but I can't find any way to do this. An example of what I want to monitor and subsequently send notices about if the status changes is the following: OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.5.1.1.37 Type: Integer Enumerations 1:other 2:ok 3:degraded 4:failed
exchange database size
Is there any monitor to check total database size for each database store? I mean the total size of file.edb+file.stm (not only .edb file), so we can be alerted before it reaches 16gb limit for exchange server standard or 72Gb in exchange 2003 sp2. Sorry for my bad english.
Email notification from switch doesn't include user info
I have changed the "display name" from the default name, ie, fastethernet1, fastethernet2, etc to a more meaningful name but when I get the email error that a port is down, for instance, a user turns off his workstation, I only get the interface number, not the display name so it's impossible to know who or what was affected. I went under admin/snmp trap processors/trap name/link down/and selected "system name" and "system description" but this doesn't give me the display name. How is this resolved?
Has anyone used MSAccess to query OpManager DB
I have setup an ODBC DSN and can query using Excel. However, everytime I use MSAccess it crashes... What I'm trying to do is use MSAccess to create custom reports. Is this possible? Has anyone done this before?

I need the location of the web archives of the older installation of Opmanager. I need to migrate to newer hardware, and I do not want to upgrade our current version till we move over to the need hardware. I need the location of the files for build number 6003. (Un)Ability to copy/adjust/use custom monitor
Hi all, I've run into a very annoying and inconvenient problem. A short while ago OpManager Support helped me out with some custom monitors. These are to monitor AKCP Environmental SensorProbes (and if I succeed to copy-adjust-use in another way for Powerware UPS's). My problem first is about the AKCP-probes. With OpManager-support help we created custom monitors, added them to devices and started gathering data from these probes. So far, so good. Then I tweaked the custom monitoring with thresholds.
Telnet CLI logging or debug mode
I have tried adding a new CLI Telnet monitor but all I get is "This monitor did not respond to the test request". I have added it per the instructions in keven's post and the KB article. The username and password are correct as I can see on the remote system that opmanager is authenticating correctly. Where or how can I see the output of the command line session to ensure opmanager is parsing it correctly? How would I turn on CLI debug to get more troubleshooting information?
Disable Probe Showing on windows login
Hi there. When a probe is installed on a customers server, when the ManageEngine Probe service is started and then the customer logs in, the OpManager software window appears, loads the little green icon in the taskbar, then auto opens up a webpage to the local probes web interface. We do not want this happing when our customers log in to their servers, as we don't want them trying to get into their local probe interface or to constantly see the software running, we wish it to be a silent monitoring
Notification profile not shown
Hi, I have this problem... New created notification profiles are not shown on the notification profile window, nor when assignign them to computers. If I try to recreate the same notification profile (the same name) OpManager says that it already exists. Note: In the EventAlertFilter table (SQL) the new created profiles do not appear. The ones created several days ago do. Nothing changes on OpManager, that I'm aware of. Need help on this. Thanks and best regards. Rodrigo.

Hi myk12pak I couldn't seem to add to the last post so I've added this one just to explain gfor you how I managed to achieve it. I just added the CPQIDA-MIB file into the /mibs folder on both the central server and probe, edited the /conf/mibtobeloaded.conf file to specify the mibs to be loaded on startup. WMI Not Working
Greetings, I am evaluating OpManager and am struggling to get my domain controller monitored properly. I have SNMP working and can see AD status on the dashboard (for example, which FSMO roles this particular DC has). However, none of the LSASS/WMI monitors work (CPU, Disk, etc..). They all show last polled as N/A and if I run a test I get the error that the monitor failed to respond. I have tested the credentials and know for certain they are correct. I have already checked the server AND run one
accessing opmanager DB very slow
I'm using Opmanager6 to monitor 20 routers,500 switches & 100 servers. The machine that OPman runs on is a P4 3Ghz with 2GB RAM, accessing top 10 switch ports and other reports can take nearly 700secs to complete. is this because the box is underpowered or OPman is not designed to monitor nearly 10000 ports. I'm going to move the installation to a new Dell server (Dual core 2.33Ghz, 2GB RAM, 36GB 15000rpm SAS drives) should I get an improvement in performance or spilt the monitoring across multiple
SNMP on Cisco Catalyst
We used the demo version of Opmanager where all traps were working fine. On purchasing Opmanager we installed a new server to run the software and since then I can see the ports on the switches but no monitors work. When I test the monitor it responds with : The Monitor did not respond to the test request The SNMP host is configured correctly on the switches, at this point ALL traps have been enabled and the community strings are correct. Any idea's as to how I can get this up and running?
Email based sms not working
We are using OpManager 6.0 Build 6011 on a Windows 2003 Standard Server SP1 and actual patches. We would like to send an email based sms (using Lotus Domino) for alarm escalation to a Vodafone Blackberry. When I try to send a test message from the "Mail server settings" page, I recieve an sms on this device. When I try to generate an alarm i.e. stopping a service with the notification profile assigned, no sms is recieved. In the mail server routing protocolls I can see that this email has been send
event log monitoring
I am trying to set up event log monitoring in MSP edition of Opmanager. WMI seems to be working correctly as I get some performance metrics through it. I have set up the event log rule to monitor for Any Application failure , and I am not getting any results, even though there are application failures logged into the event log. thanks

Notification profiles changed
Hi! We just applied the latest service pack to OPManager and it looks like the notification schema was changed. Previously we could configure Alarm filters for every Notification profile and for every machine separately. Now this option disappeared from Notification profiles. Is it right? Can we get it back?
HP RAID monitoring
I need some handholding getting a custom monitor created to monitor an HP Proliant server's physical drives. I've looked at the thread in http://forums.manageengine.com/forumHome.do?forumGroupId=49000000002007&forumTopicId=49000002637781 and have loaded the CPQIDA MIB. It's now time to select a limb on the tree, and I am at a loss. How do I translate the abbreviated names and which one do I select to monitor the drives?

I see there is an option for snmp retires for discovery, but for snmp data polling. So, is there a way to configure the snmp data polling to retry when no response is received from a device after a specified timeout period?
Error while starting OpManager on Redhat Linux

Unused Switch Ports causing Alarms
Hello, I am using the purchased version of Opmanager 5 build 5006. For the past several weeks I have noticed that opmanager reports alarm conditions for several ports on two of my managed switches. All service monitors show down
I am running OpManager Build 6011. Periodically, all of my service monitors (across all servers) change status to down. The only way that I've found to force them to show "clear" status again is to restart the OpManager service. There are no network changes made immediately before/after the service monitors become unavailable. Please help!
OpManager / ServiceDesk Plus Integration
Hi, I am OpManager MSP (6002), and recently installed ServiceDesk Plus 5.5. I can add SD+ as an add-on product in OpManager only if SD+ is running on http. If I switch SD+ to https, OpManager gives me an error when trying to set it up as an add on. The error is: Unable to fetch values from ServiceDesk Plus, The server might not be running or the network traffic may be too high. I have all the correct information on the settings page. MIB / Trap problems
Hi, I need help. I have opmanager running with in my business, its monitoring all the servers correclty. However the SNMp traps are not working correctly. We have our own custom MIBs for our software, it sends traps if there is an error. I have imported our MIBs in to the trap processor. It has recognised the traps and set up the corresponding processors. However when I am receiving traps from the servers using our custom software; the trap processors are not processing them and they are going straight
