Telnet CLI logging or debug mode

I have tried adding a new CLI Telnet monitor but all I get is "This monitor did not respond to the test request". I have added it per the instructions in keven's post and the KB article. The username and password are correct as I can see on the remote system that opmanager is authenticating correctly.

Where or how can I see the output of the command line session to ensure opmanager is parsing it correctly? How would I turn on CLI debug to get more troubleshooting information?
