event log monitoring

I am trying to set up event log monitoring in MSP edition of Opmanager. WMI seems to be working correctly as I get some performance metrics through it. I have set up the event log rule to monitor for Any Application failure , and I am not getting any results, even though there are application failures logged into the event log.
