How I can change the JRE to my standalone installed J2SE? The JRE included in SD+ setup has some files missing.
Email Failure

Printing Purchase Order
Hi, I would like to ask about printing Purchase Order. When I press print, PO is printed but at the top I have line that says " AdventNet ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus - Purchase Order Print Preview" and at the bottom http://ip:port/PurchaseOrder.do?...etc How can I remove these 2 lines?
Feature: Turn off Time to complete requests
We do not need to have requests completed by time. In other words, when a request is saved, the system simply adds 3 day, 5 days or whatever SLA setting is applied. We do not need the time factor. It causes problems where a user logs a request at 09:03 with a 3 day SLA. As far as we are concerned the request can be completed anytime up until the end of the 3rd business day - not by 09:03 of that morning. If we don't realise the time of the request it can become overdue. We would like an option to
SLA Violation report not right
The SLA Violation report shows request where the SLA was not violated - why? What is the criteria that determines if a SLA has been violated since I can't find any reason for the requests that are appearing on the report to be there. The report function is good, however on most reports the charts are truncated and squashed. Can a method be added to allow charts to size themselves correctly. Thanks in advance.
E-mail and scanning...no worky...
Trying out MESD, and love its promising functionality, but... E-mail configuration consistently fails to authenticate, every time. Network and Windows domain scans never authenticate. WMI and DCOM are all enabled. WMI queries are capable of being ran from both the MESD server and the workstation I use to access MESD via the web. But every time I scan a system that will respond in every other way/method, I get: FAILURE : Either access denied for the user or the remote DCOM option might be disabled
Service Desk Plus hangs on startup
Hello I am currently evaluating service desk (Free version) and everything so far has been great! Love the product. The power was cycled on the SD server without properly closing down service desk . The service desk starts as normal until it gets to the application layer starting..... and from there the SD hangs. I am able to shut down the SD application. I do have a backup from a few days ago however I would like to get the system back to its original state. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks
Importing Employee ID from AD
From what field in the AD entry is the Employee ID imported. We found the other fields, but the ID field is not documented.

Is it possible to customise the login page, we are looking to make SD+ the default page for all our users where currently we use google as our homepage. importing tickets
Hello... we are trying to import all our old tickets from another database... it's possible for us to email these tickets to ServiceDesk, but the requestor name comes up as "test"... is there a way to change this?
Error adding licenses
Hi there, Currently I'm evaluating your fine product but I stumbled upon an error. I wanted to ad licenses for a software asset and get the msg: Failure: exception while adding licenses for the software. Feature Request
I would like to be able to select a requester and see all the assets that are associated with that person. I would also like to be able to attach assts to that person from the requester screen. Also If a machine is added under inventory I would like for it to be automatically added as an asset instead of having to manually enter all the data in for the machine. At the least their should be a toggle to add it as an asset

Active Directory Import - Timing Out
We have been testing ServiceDesk Plus in one of our test labs and have had quite a bit of success. Latest SD+ not installing
We have exactly the same problem as the other SD+ users. We have downloaded the trial period. Then proceeded to install the latest version, on running Windows 2003 Server web Edition with SP1 installed. During the ServiceDesk installation process about 90% the blue bar hangs (Application layer) right below the T in Advent . Bug Found with Solutions
If you create a solution with keywords "network,printer" and add it to the list, you can search on network and on printer. If you then modify that solution to have keywords "network,printer,paper" you can not search on paper. In short, the bug is that if you "modify" an existing solutions keywords the search database does NOT update.
SP10 Not Installing
We just purchased several apps from you after reviewing them for the trial period. At the time we were running a different build than the current release that is currently available. Firefox and IE difference
Hello, Attached is an image of the conversation area of an open request. In Internet Explorer it looks great. But in Firefox 1.07 it's sized incorrectly. This is on Windows XP SP2. This is consistent on several different computers at our office. So, it's not just one PC or a intermittent problem. New Feature Request(s)
#1) The ability to "sort" requests by the various fields, i.e. requestor, due by. I am surprised I can not just click the field and have it sorted ? #2) I think this is a bug but it may be working "as intended" I have SDP4.1R10 set to notify technicans via email when a new request is added. However when i add a task none of us get an email. When i assign the task we do get emails .. Does the "notify technicians" notification ONLY work if the request is automaticaly assigned by SDP ?
Purchasing feature
I have been using SD+ for a 2 months now and on the whole its pretty much what we want and the update list and support is great. I have a request regarding the purchasing feature. Would it be possible to part-recieve items, not all items purchased on one PO number arrive to us on the same day. Barcode Readers and compatability
We have just started using ServiceDesk Plus, and I have the situation where my office has over 300 workstations, all with Asset tags and bar codes. 1) Can I get a portable barcode reader to read these barcodes? if so whats the recommended make and model? 2) If I get a barcode reader how does that data then get transferred into the software database? Domain Scan
When scanning another domain at another location it has returned a list of IP addresses but no details and one correct scan returning all details of the PDC server? The domains are trusted both running AD mixed equipment of W2K, XP and Server 2000, 2003 Also getting No response received from workstation. Probably the workstation might be switched off or does not exist. but it is known to be on and working?
Win9x Inventory
Please can anyone help me with the "Inventory Scanning" of win 98 machine??? 1)I have installed WMI from microsoft.com. 2)I have installed DCom from microsoft.com. 3)In registry "local machine\software\microsoft\ole\" i have enabled remote access of Dcom. Still Win98 machines in my network cannot be scanned(I have tried on 3 win98 systems). I can however scan Winxp and win2000 machines. Its working perfectly fine on these operating systems. Please help me immediately i need to implement it!
broken backgroung images
In ServiceDesk Plus v4.1.0 bn4109 on my "Requests" tab the images "filterbg.gif" and "wo_view_bg.gif" are broken. I have attached a screenshot. When I resize the window to about half its size the images appear correctly. Changing screen resolutions and color displays does not solve the problem.
Mail icon is not lit green

Technicien groups through AD
Will it be possible to create just a group in AD and assign (eg: 5 licenses for 5 user) instead of having to create a new login for each Technician. Then "automatic logon on intranet zone" option could be added and make life alot easier.
Service Desk Plus
Is there any way to setup support groups? For example, we have three groups of IT staff, desktop, applications and infrastructure; if a call is logged by helpdesk for say, the applications team, is there any way of having technicians setup so they can view calls in that group (aswell as there own)? I just want to segregate the calls so we all don�t just look at a big pool of calls. If a call can be logged and at that point be assigned to a specific group, and an email is then sent to all members
Failure while saving technician details
I have recently installed the trial version of ME ServiceDesk Plus. I am using the AD to import my requestors, but I need some of those requestors to be technicians.
