Active Directory Import - Timing Out
We have been testing ServiceDesk Plus in one of our test labs and have had quite a bit of success. Today we graduated SDP to our production environment and started the configuration on our Active Directory (AD) and the initial steps for importing the requestors from AD is failing.
I have entered the host name in multiple formats after reading some of the posts in this forum, however we are frozen on the screen which says:
"Connecting to Active Directory Server..."
Just to make sure the authentication is working we placed a couple of traps on the session and it is authenticating. To further test this we entered the wrong password for the user and it responded with an authentication/DCOM access error. So best guess is that the login is working--however it may be timing out or just stops responding.
We do not have a large AD ~180,000 objects (maybe ~8,000-10,000 user accounts) and I find only one error--which is in the mysql folder named hostname.err.
I have cleared the complete install, cleaned the directory and re-installed fresh only to find this same hostname.err getting created at the exact moment in which the domain is being scanned for new requestors.
Any ideas?
