Ordered Disk Scheduled Reporting.
I already submitted a support request for this issue, and received a reply, but figured it would be useful to the OpManager community to be aware of the issue and know that AdventNet has been informed of the issue and has assured me they are working on a fix for this problem. == When one generates a one-time all disks report in OpManager - it displays fine. However, if one schedules the report to occur regularly when it is sent to an email box it appears unordered. Thus, the drives are not ordered

Site 24x7 Integration into OpManager 6.
Compared to Site 24x7's url monitoring, OpManager 6 is primitive. What's the chance that the Site24x7 code base could be integrated into OpManager? It would be great to have this sort of functionality - including the recorder built right into OpManager, especially since Site24x7 can become prohibitively expensive if you have a large number of pages you need to check. Not able to see Logidal Disk Drive on Server
I can see the total disk utilization but however, not each individual drive. Is it something I need to set further? I tried the MIS Browser, it shows all the drives. Please help me. Thank you!
Checking of URL availability
Is there a document on how does OPManager check the availability of a URL? Cause in some cases, even if the URL is up... it still shows that the URL is down and when I try to test via "TEST URL" it times out; but if I manually inputted the url on the explorer it works fine. Also 1 more thing, is there a way to create a rule if the threshold is violated n times before it sends out an alarm to avoid false positive? Thanks

I configured a server to generate the alarm if threshold is violated 3 times to minimize false positive. The threshold was surely to be violated, however it's been days now and haven't receive anything but if I manually test 3 times, I receive a notification regarding the alarm. Please help. Thanks

Display name in switchport alarms?

Can't disable SQL alert
Hi, I am evaluating whether or not to purchase the OpManager SQL monitor. I am using OpManager to monitor a W2k3 machine with SQL 2005. I'm using the WMI SQL monitor to watch some stats. I am getting a lot of alerts about the MSSQL cache hit ratio. I've tried to adjust the threshold and have even removed that specific monitor, but still get notifications about it. What can I do? Newbie to SNMP
Hi there, Looking at OpManager MSP at the moment and want to see if it can monitor McAfee AntiVirus products. Alert Manager from McAfee can send SNMP traps out so I figure I can set something up but don't understand how SNMP works. My questions: Am I on the right track, and if so, what are the basic steps involved? (Don't worry about detail, it'd just be handy to know the very top level steps involved so I'll know if I'm heading in the right direction). Can anyone point me to a good website/guide/book
Removing other Device Category that we don't need.

Monitoring IBM as400 resources
Hi I have an IBM as400 server with OS/400 V5R3M0. I want to be monitored by OpManager. I have the idea that i can achieve this with a telnet monitor, to open the server CLI, execute a command and then OpManager parses the result of the command and saves it to the OpManager Database just to be presented in the application. Also i think i must update the hostresource.xml file where i need to write this commands, and the parsing method. But i have not found these commands for doing this. Do you know
cant load Opmanager on 2003 sr1 server
I am trying to load OpManager on a 2003 server. I have loaded on 2000 and XP machines with out problem. I run the install and when the installer gets to the point where it states it is starting the service it hangs for 4-5 minutes. It then states it failed to start. I checked and the Opmanager and apache for Opmanager are running. If I try to connect to OpManager I get a 500 error in the browser. So then I run \bin\StartOpmanagerServer.bat and the first thing I get is the license screen. I accept

Gracefully shutting down OpManager I almost verify user group on httpd.conf and permissions, but i have the same problem, i also try to execute OpManagerDir]/apache/StartWebSvr.sh but i don�t have that script, can you help me. Status doesn't update!
Hi all, For a few moths we are using OpManager and sometimes the status doesn't update on a device until i manually update status or rediscover. In some rare cases i have to go to the alarms section and clear the alarm! And another thing: When I Rediscover a device all the historic status is clear, including the "Today's Availability" that changes to 100% available! Any ideas? Tanks, Manuel Pereira.
Guide to how the security features work
Hi, Trying to find some documentation on how the security features work but the user guide doesn't mention them at all. I would like to know where the updates brought down for updating one pc are held after the update is applied. Is there a repository held on the central server or on each probe so that the same update is downloaded over and over again for each PC? If so, where? Removing DBEntries
Hello all, i m having problem with removing 1 devise entry as i m trying to rediscover its ports it does not rediscover , op support sugessted me to use..RemoveDBEntries.bat script to remove the device totally and discover it again . i have extract the RemoveDBEntries.bat in /bin folder and i m trying to remove my device wiht ip / name gives me this error : Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: RemoveDBEntries i dont have knowledge of scripts can anyone guide me plz. my script

Growing Apache Logs
Hi, not long ago our hard disk filled up to 100% due to the Apache logs growing bigger and bigger. Does Opmanager supply some way of controlling/rotating the Apache logs? I'm afraid that when I tamper with the apache config to set piped logging or something these changes will be lost with an Opmanager upgrade. Or does someone provide a script to move the logs and restart Apache or something? I don't want to reinvent the wheel :) Any help would be appreciated. P.s I couldn't find a good answer by
Exchange monitors not working but other WMI are
Hi. We have a problem with our MSP server, in that the last two customer probes we've added and installed on their networks, have a dedicated domain admin account to log on as, but the exchange section only shows used disk space, it doesn't show all the other information such as message delivery etc. We have several other customer servers that show all exchange monitors properly, but the last few don't have any last polled values. WMI is working for all other areas such as active directory and WMI

Problem with Vendor Monitor IBM xSeries
Hello! I'm having problems getting the Vendor Spesific Monitor: IBMPSGTemperatureSensorCurrentReading to work at all. Have gotten cpu, memory and disk monitors working, and got snmp working ok. It is an IBM X346 with Windows 2003 Server SP1. Pls. assist, don't know what I'm doing wrong, but that is not strange considering I'm a newbie at this.

Our firewall is sitting in a domain with a one-way forest trust to our office domain. Is there any guidelines on how to monitor a machine which is not in a trusted domain? I have opened the DCOM ports and service discovery is still failing (RPC server is unavailable). Thanks, Colin
Devices behind a PIX 515
I have 3 Cisco devices that are in DMZs behind a pix firewall. All 3 switches have the same correct community string, and they all point to opmanager which resides on the internal side of the firewall. All cisco devices on the internal network were discovered fine, and give accurate alarms. The 3 cisco devices that are in the dmz's however will not stay green. I have the firewall opened to all 3 dmzs from the internal network with static acls allowing udp and tcp 161, and tcp 162, and udp snmptraps
OpManager and Ticketing
I am currently an evaluator of the Opmanager MSP application: In the latest release Opmanager MSP has integrated the SupportCenter Plus ticketing application. That is great ! One of the nice features I liked from the SupportCenter is that customer could log issues directly via a webinterface. Within the Opmanager only ticket generation via email seems to be supported. Am I missing something ? Looking forward Sijbren

MSSQL Application Monitor
Running build 6015 I have two SQL servers Server A Server B Added mssql application monitor to server A, checks fine. Works like a charm. Added mssql application monitor to server B, says added but never shows. The DB shows under Server B. Can it run on both servers? How do I remove it from server A? There is no option to REMOVE the application monitor once added. I've even deleted both servers and added in server B, hoping to get the mssql monitor but it never shows.
