How-To: Change Date format used by reports
I want to export a report with a date or datetime column to XLS or CSV for further processing using Excel. But since we use German version of Excel, I can't use the date format exported by desktop central, for example "Mon, Jan 20 2014, 12:00:00". Instead I need the date value in the format "20.01.2014" or "20.01.2014 12:00:00" So, my question is how to change the date format used by Desktop Central especially regarding reports. (In Servicedesk the overall date format can be easily change under "Personalize").
Desktop Central not working after 339 hotfix install

WOL over Cisco 2960
Hi All, Has anyone currently setup and using WOL broadcasting through cisco 2960 switch? We have lots of different subnets for each floor and branches of our company and would like to enable WOL to automate windows updates. Pull event logs with Inventory
Are we missing it or is there not the ability to review event logs for managed machines in DeskTop Central? We currently have LanSweeper also as were planning to replace it with DC. LanSweeper pulls the event logs with the inventory scan which allows technicians to review the latest logs prior to even connecting or contacting the requester. This many time allows for a hypothesis to be well formed at the time of first contact. If this does not exist, sounds like a feature request.
I've never used DC to patch my servers....
I have a wide range of servers 2003, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 hyper v hosts, etc... some physical, some hyper V, etc... I've never used DC to patch my servers, have always run it without issue on my workstations but have been leery of patching my servers. Curious to hear from users who are patching their servers and if there is anything I should be aware of in terms of do's don'ts types of boxes I shouldn't use DC to patch, etc...

How to set targets in Permissions Manager within Desktop Central?
I've created a permission to grant Domain Users to have full access when running an executable and to the related registry keys. I've tried to set the target to Domain User and to two OUs containing Windows 7 computers, but the Execution Status still shows "No targets available". Status shows Ready to Execute. Agent Not Reachable in Desktop central
We have recently migrated the ME-DC Server to a new computer, we verified the old http:\\oldserver:8383 its diverting to the http:\\newserver8383 however when we tried to scan the agents its showing Agent not reachable. I have check the KB and its mentioned to Add the Port 8027 to communicate with Agent. Can you please explain the steps to do ?
VMWare ESX 5.1 crash
Has anyone else experienced a crash (PSOD) of an ESXi 5.1 host when installing the Desktop Central agent onto a virtual machine? I have had this happen twice. How to test DC Agent ICON in System Tray

Hi, When Desktop Central was first installed it was not envisaged that it would take up as much space as it does and therefore it was installed on a disk without enough space. There's only one Distribution server on the network and the the remote office is setup to use direct communication over https. Problem with the way IE v11 shows up in Software Inventory
We're running Desktop Central 8 release 80296 (I think it's the latest available). I've used the templates to create a package for deploying IE v11 for Win 7 x64 (noticed that it was recommended we remove the command-line option that doesn't look for updates). Remote office DS License not compatable error
Hi team We are having an issue where the SOM Remote Office shows there is an "Incompatible License for Distribution Server ". We are seeing various inconsitancies in the application at our remote sites, including, remote hosts not installing client when pushed (but will if admin logs into host and deploys), software not deploying to remote site. Hello All, I am new to Desktop Central and have taken over administrating it from a former employee. I have updated DTC to 80269 but I have noticed that the agent has not updated on the clients. Does the client automatically update or do I need to deploy the newer version to each client? I noticed that the previous admin had downloaded the agent for each site and put it in a common share. Then he created a GPO for each site to deploy the agent. Should I update the MSI for each site? Thanks, Liam
Can Desktop Central agent send inventory at login?
We are just getting our system set up, and I can't seem to find a way to get the agent to send an inventory when the user logs in. I can schedule an inventory, but all of our other tools, including Asset Explorer, send an inventory each time the user logs in if there is a change in the data. I cannot find any way to accomplish this with the Desktop Central client. Thanks! Dave

windows 8 crashing
We have a windows 8 machine which frequently crashes beyond repair. Only a fresh install is possible. Once the system is rebuilt and put on the network, the DTcentral client gets installed via GPO. It crashes again. There is a error at event viewer as Unable to rotate the log files in Desktop Central Secure USB Collection. Anyone come across this ?
