SEVERE: Inside SDPreProcessor error
We are trying to install SP10, and on the DOS screen shows "SEVERE: Inside SDPreProcessor error" at the beginning and the end of the install. SP10 then uninstalls. Anyone have this problem? Thanks.
Sooner Release for a Non-International Version
I, for one, am not interested in the International functionality of the product. I am only interested in the other improved and additional features. Can you make available the new version of the product without the Internationalization any sooner for those of us who are licensed users and are in desperate need of the upgraded features????
Attachment to solution
Hi I�m really new to this so I guess you can call this a newbie question. Is it possible to attach a file to a solution that you add? Lets say that you have a picture with a printscreen which explains the solution better then if you should write it down in a lot of text.. Then it would be perfect to add this picture to the solution. I think this would be a exellent feature (if it isn�t alreade in the ServiceDesk Plus) Regards //Anders
Service Provider Functionality
We currently use VSO-XP support desk. We use it to service our customers. I thought about getting ServiceDesk and just treating customers as departments, but there's no way to log hours so that we can bill our clients. Also, SLA's are a great feature, but we need to make sure we have the SLA's to measure the relationship between our customers and us. Let us know if this is even being considered for a new product. Installing on existing JBOSS
We would like to evaluate ServiceDeskPlus. My understanding so far is, that SD+ installation kit includes a full JBoss/Tomcat kit, however our server already has an installation of JBoss. Is there any special installation procedures to follow or a war file availabe to deploy it on our existing server?

Hi! I have imported all the users (requesters) from our AD, and assigned computers to each requester. We hire alot of people so the AD is updated all the time, so the question is. If I do i new import, will all I lose the computers assign to the current user?

request limits
is there a way we can remove any of the default request items such as Priority and Category sections??? We find that almost every user places their item as a high priority and my boss wants to remove the option and let the techs decide the priority.

Quick Create
Hi. The quick create is a great idea. Our team utilizes this a lot. One thing that would help us is for automatic verification of a requestor. For example, typing in the last name of the requestor and on tab the name is filled in for us or we get a list of names to pick from (just like Outlook). This saves us time and also prevents us from creating users that don't really exist (currently the program creates a requestor, which we delete when we find them). I have a problem with the restore, and I saw, the version on my server is 4109 but I cannot dowload from your site a installer for this version, the only one I found is version 4.1 4110, I think that's why my restore doesn't work Thank
Restore
I'm planning to change my server and i'm doing some test before to transfer Service Desk and i'm using all of you procedure and it's work fine to do the backup, I have no error message but he creat a very small backup file, around 700k. And When I try to Restore on another machine test, the restore work fine but I have no Data and config on the new test machine. I really don't understand what i'm doing wrong ???? Scanned Software
I have an instance whereby a piece of software is not being included in the scan of a particular machine. It shows up in the add/remove programs and has shown up on other machines. Does anyone know what the criteria is to have software show up in the scanned software inventory?
PO Orders / Backdated
I would like to backdate PO's to ealier in the year, although i see this was ment to be a feature in the new release when i try it reminds me PO's can only be of current or future date. any ideas Cheers Shane :twisted:

When a requester emails a reply to an email the technician the Service Desk sends an email to the technician stating the request has been updated. The problem is that it does not email the correct technician. The technician that gets the General requests gets all of the update notifications. e.g. I have requests from Hardware category. I email requester. Requester emails back. I do NOT receive notification they have responded - the technician dealing with GENERAL requests gets the notification the

ServiceDesk Causing CPU to go 100%
I have sent below mail/s to support@servicedesksupport.com on last thurshday and again on friday - still I havent got any response .... =============================================== Dtd: 10/6/05 Hello: We are using latest version of ServiceDesk with latest Service Pack (SP10). Since yesterday or so, Service Desk Plus is totally unusable. The CPU usage on server rises to 100%. Specifically the process mysqld-nt.exe show 99% or above all the time and the web client basically is totally unresponsive.
Cant login after incorrect AD settings
Hi, One of the admins supplied incorrect AD settings and selected AD authentication and now no one can log in. How can I fix this? Is there someway to get to the system? Thanks.

Bug: File Attachments with "&"s in their name
Had an incident where a user attached a file named "M&M.doc" to a request. Unfortunately when you try to view this attachment the "&" in the name messes up the argument list that you pass to the FileDownload.jsp. For example: http://SERVERNAME/workorder/FileDownload.jsp?FILENAME=M&M.doc&module=Request&ID=7857 This causes FileDownload.jsp to search for the filename "M". Now I agree that users shouldn't be putting in "&"s into their filenames, but maybe a parser should be added to compensate for it
Scanned software counts
I have several instances whereby the installed count does not match what is displayed when you click on the hyperlink for that piece of software. For example I have an installed count of 2 and only shows 1 machine as having it installed. Has anyone seen this behavior?

once we have created categories and actively using the software is it possible to change a category and easily go back to reclassify some of the old tickets that were created under the "old" category? sounds confusing??? so am I but it's a question my boss wants to know...
Port 8080 occupied
I am trying to run the run.bat file, and it is telling me port 8080 is occupied. Can I run Service Desk on another port? Or, how do I check to see what is occupying port 8080?

ODBC queries with MS Access and Excel
I am evaluating the ServiceDesk product and looking for the ability to link the database tables via MS Access in order to run joined reports with other SQL databases that support our operation. I am able to setup the ODBC connection, however all fields are displayed as #deleted. When linking to an excel sheet I am able to query the database, but all the date fields appear as non-date values. It is critical for this database to link with MS access for our reporting needs. Task Options disappear on requests after install of SP10
Hi, I just installed SP10. I had Version 4.1.0 Build 4108. I noticed after this install that the requests our technicians had already created prior to installing SP10 do not have the Task Options available when opening these requests. I also noticed that any previous requests that were closed do not have these options available. This is a big problem. I need some help on this.
