Operating System Deployment
I am curious to hear anyone's experience using DC's OS Deployment feature. I have been using Microsoft MDT for 5+ years and am having some difficulty making the switch. There are a couple of things that bother me with DC OSD. 1: Why can't I import a Windows ISO for deployment instead of REQUIRING capture of a target machine? 2: Why do I need to create applications just for OSD? Why can't I use applications that ALREADY EXIST IN MY DC SOFTWARE REPO? This approach requires maintenance of 2 separate

The desktop management software we currently use has a dynamic variable $AdEmailAddress that pulls a user's e-mail address. Is this possible in Desktop Central? I can't see to be able to find this variable.

Forwarding Server setup stuck at "validate"
Our license expired (assets admin was on PTO, so we couldn't apply the new license in time) and our Forwarding Server somehow got 'de-provisioned'. Time Incorrect in Desktop Central
Thie time in the Desktop central deploymnet is showing incorrect even though the server time is correct. It's exactly 1 hour behind. I can't find anywhere in the settings to change the time. Hello, I'm having a problem when trying to distribute IP Printers. Below is my configuration: Desktop Central Server running on Windows 2008 R2 Printers: HP LaserJet 4000 (with HP Universal Drivers) and Dell 1815dn MFP, shared through Windows Printing Service Clients: XP and Windows 7 (64 and 32bit) After I distributed the Printers through DesktopCentral it worked like a charm on all XP machines. Unable to upgrade from Desktop Central V 10.0.233
I have been trying to update to the latest build. Every time I try I am unable to restart DC. The tray shows HTTP Port: 0 and HTTPS Port: 0 Service status is starting. I am unable to roll back using Update manager and end up replacing folder with copy of working version. I tried the windows update and that did not seem to resolve the issue. Using one domain service account for multiple domains
Hello, I am setting up DC in our environment for the first time. I have used it before at my previous company but on a single domain. My current environment has 4 separate domains and I was wondering if there was a way for me to add domains via one service account thats on the top level of the forest? When adding credentials in SoM is specifically states not to prefix the username with a domain. Any help would be appreciated.
Desktop Central Wont start
After installing windows update KB4338822 on the desktop central server, the application will no longer start. Anyone else having this problem or have a resolution? EDIT: so it seems as though i can still access desktop centrals site, its just that the icon is no longer in the systray on the server and will not open when clicking the shortcut.

Tray Icon modifications
Hi all, Does anyone know if it's possible to modify the tray icon and its menus at all? I've attached a screenshot and I've already looked in the settings for the agent tray icon settings and they are set as follows - (tick) in show agent icon in the System Tray. Every other option is un-ticked. However - as you can see on the attached - the user still sees the options of 'View Prohibited Software Details' and 'View User Logon Reports'. Does anyone have experience using both versions of Desktop Central? Is there a functional difference in the MSP version that makes it better for MSPs when compared to the standard version?
Unable to edit Custom Groups.
I had created Custom Groups dynamically based on the machine names. Later on when I want to add one more criteria so that kind on machines are also added to the Custom Group, I am not able to edit the group. It seems the only option is to delete the group and recreate it which is a tedious task as I have a lot of such dynamic custom groups.

As the title suggests, I have the Desktop Central/SDP Integration enabled and working, however when someone disconnects from a remote session, and it opens the dialogue for work log/resolution/notes, the user enters that info, but regardless of the user logged in, SDP reports the user that entered the info as one particular user. Is there a way to schedule a scheduled reboot but targeting a custom dynamic group? I have the computer that have the new version of Windows 10 deployed but the APD for this patch is not requiring a reboot so I would like to schedule a reboot.
