MSP vs Standard version
Does anyone have experience using both versions of Desktop Central? Is there a functional difference in the MSP version that makes it better for MSPs when compared to the standard version?
Unable to edit Custom Groups.
I had created Custom Groups dynamically based on the machine names. Later on when I want to add one more criteria so that kind on machines are also added to the Custom Group, I am not able to edit the group. It seems the only option is to delete the group and recreate it which is a tedious task as I have a lot of such dynamic custom groups.
Slow performance with SSL
Hi Group, I do not understand why enabling SSL DesktopCentral application is very slow, it is necessary to wait 5 to 10 seconds to open the windows. Desktop Central connect - SDP Connect: Notes, Work Log, Resolution recorded under wrong user
As the title suggests, I have the Desktop Central/SDP Integration enabled and working, however when someone disconnects from a remote session, and it opens the dialogue for work log/resolution/notes, the user enters that info, but regardless of the user logged in, SDP reports the user that entered the info as one particular user. I.e. Alice, Bob and Charlie are SDP & DC users. Alice & Bob end individual remote sessions and fill out logs; SDP reports that Charlie was the author of both Alice and Bob's
install and run multiple ME products on one server VM
We are planning to reinstall Desktop Central on a new server platform as it is currently running on Server 2008. My infrastructure team has asked if ManageEngine supports running multiple server products on one VM - Desktop Central, ServiceDesk Plus and AD Manager Plus. I have contacted the person I deal with on licensing issues and asked him to direct my questions to the appropriate person, but I thought it made sense to put the question out here. is anyone doing this? if so, how are yo handling
Schedule reboot for dynamic custom group
Is there a way to schedule a scheduled reboot but targeting a custom dynamic group? I have the computer that have the new version of Windows 10 deployed but the APD for this patch is not requiring a reboot so I would like to schedule a reboot.

Desktop Central service wont start
I have just installed Desktop central 10 on server 2016 std and everything install fine didn't erred. I now have the issue where the service just wont start. I keep getting the prompt that the service has stopped. Not sure why this, ps: tried to install the software on 6 deferent servers and no luck each time wont start, I have attached all the log files and would be grateful if someone could lend me a hand.

Question Regarding Features
We are looking to moving towards DC for our remote troubleshooting and patching. I have a few questions: - Does DC allow connecting to endpoints for remote management when those endpoints are NOT connected to our VPN? - Does DC allow us to setup a software package to begin copying over to endpoints for pre-deployment? Desktop Central and Remote offices
When our original setup was done they created a remote office under all of our customers that contains our servers. Is it possible to move those servers/remote offices out from under those companies and into a new one called EX: Data Center? For clarity here is an example. Company: NASA Remote office name: Data Center (all servers for NASA are here) Multiply this by 32. I want to move these to one separate company so that I can control access better.
Desktop Central Build #10.0.183 new search button
Is there any way to revert the search button back to the old textbox as the new button is already a nightmare, the search is used daily be all staff to find devices and now you have to click first on the button, type the computername and then select 'computername' before being able to find a device. Doesn't seem much but doing this 10, 15 times a day isn't pleasant.
Ticket system issue?
Hi everyone I no longer receive the "[##123456##] Your ticket has been created" emails when I open tickets with ManageEngine. These emails used to arrive within minutes after an email was sent to desktopcentral-support@manageengine.com. Last week was the first time I noticed this. Is anyone else seeing this? Thanks, Stefan
Desktop Central ServiceDesk Plus Tickets
We use both Desktop Central and Service Desk Plus. Our users submit tickets using the Desktop Central Agent. Sometime a while back, the address that is used for the attached images was changed to use the Mobile device Management Address. Because this is an external address, we can not see the attachments without changing the address to the internal server in the browser. I submitted a ticket and was told that this is an enhancement to allow for external access but this does not work for us.
Desktop Management Agent is missing some german translations
Hi, i installed server and agent in german language, but i noticed not all notifications which the end user gets from the installed agent are translated into german language. - So when the agent tells the end user at his computer that there are some patches to install (with the buttons "start now" and "skip"), this end user update notification is not translated in german at all. - So an end user who does not understand a single english word is not able to understand what this notification is about.
New search in Build 10.0.183
The new search in Desktop Central Build 10.0.183 is not functional. It now requires loading a page and selecting from a drop-down to find a computer. Is there a way to change the default behavior of the search button? Some of the updates are for the better, but some are becoming troublesome.
Search results within community site bringing up spam
Just FYI, I was doing some research seeing if there were any topics specific to software "drivers". When I performed a search it brought up quite a few spammy results. Let's just say this site is offering more than ManageEngine support :)
Possible Ransomware
I just got a hit from my security tools on a possible hit on a file downloaded today via Desktop Central scheduled updates. The file name is called \ManageEngine\DesktopCentral_Server\webapps\DesktopCentral\store\dcreplication.zip I am not sure if all of you are getting similar results. It might be a false positive. The file detected was dcreplication.zip (MD5: ccf8ffb8fd51b5baa680261c12fdcfb4).
Installing MSI file on computer only works as Command prompt 'run admin' or through GUI
Im having difficulty deploying software. Ive desktop central, i have created a package and uploaded the file. msiexec /i "Program.msi" /qn /log c:\swsetup\program-Inst.log It never installs because it seems to bypass UAC that only being admin mode can work. How does the community handle this? What is the standard process of overcoming this situation? ManageEngine Desktop Central 10.0.151
Desktop Central 10 prior Hotfix
Are older hotfixes required for Desktop Central to continue to run correctly? For example, I am going to upgrade to Desktop Central 10.0.158, once the update is complete can older hotfixes such as Desktop Central 10.0.133 be uninstalled?
Where to check for product updates/hot fixes?
It’s difficult to determine when an update is available for Desktop Central. The last notice we received wasn’t for the version we have. Another time I was sent over to the main update page (https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/service-packs.html) and the version we have (10.0.177) isn’t even listed. So, I’m not sure where to go and look when there is an update for the version we have. Can you help iron out this mystery?

Detailed versions of Windows 10 - 1703...1709 etc
Now the need is increasing that when listing computers by OS, that you specify the version, in terms of the naming system of Microsoft: 1703, 1709 and so on. Also, it would be nice to get a graph of the number of computer with each version of windows 10. Today, it seems that Desktop Central only shows the OS build numbers, and this is a bit cryptic.
Credentials used
Hi, I'm having a problem where an account that has had its password changed is being locked out. It appears to be being locked out by our server that has both servicedesk and desktop central running on it. I can only think that maybe this user account was provided to either of these tools at some point either for scanning or patching or emailing or something!! Is there anything that can be run for me to be able see all the credentials stored for both products so I can work out where I need to update
Automatically install new builds?
I like the fact that ManageEngine is regularly rolling out updates to DesktopCentral. The downside is that it takes precious time to manually download/install each new build. Is there any way to set it up so that DesktopCentral will automatically download new builds and automatically update itself?

"Send Request to Help Desk" Icon
End users are using Windows 7 & Windows 10 workstations. My issues involves the learning curve (and lazy curve) that prevents some of my end-users from creating Help Desk requests. The current process is to go down to the System Tray, right click ManageEngine Desktop Central, and the select Send request to Help Desk.
