OpManager Web Server Host Non-OpManager File
I am using the latest hotfix of OpManager, and was wondering if it is possible for the web server being used by OpManager to host additional files? I would like to have access to a couple of files through the built-in webserver, but could not find out how/where to add the files. I would like to be able to give some remote users access to the couple files without having to install/run another webserver. I do have ssl enabled Thanks,
How to authenticate from OpManager to AD enabled SDP?
Hi, I'm trying to set up integration between OpManager and Servicedesk plus but I 'm having problems with the authentication in the OpMgr "Add-On/Products Settings" section. ServiceDesk Plus is set up with Active Directory authentication, hence I need to specify the logon account name, logon domain, and password. HELP! OpManager MSSQL database problem
Hi, I am having several problems since March 22. I am unable to delete or clear alarm messages for any device. Following the error message I get: "webclient.fault.alarm.clear.status.failure" or "Problem in deleting alarm" when I'm trying to adding a note... "Unable to Add Note some error occured" My OpManager uses MSSQL database and I tried to restore database from March 19 in order to resolve the problem but the problem ocurred in the next morning again. Ping host before WMI/DCOM connection
Hey everyone Is it possible to configure OpManager 8 to ping a host before attempting a DCOM connection. We have some unstable internet connections and everytime we have a short drop our opmanager servers system log gets flooded with DCOM errors. any suggestions?
Can Not Successfully Create Event Log Rule
I am new to OpManager 8. After reviewing the user guide online I created a new Event Log Rule and associated it with my Server. However when the event is triggered I do not see an alert on my dashboard or revive a notification. I have SNMP and WMI configured correctly and tested. I also receive notifications from other alerts. I have attached screen shots of how i have OpManager Configured. I am sure that I am doing something incorrectly. Thanks in advance.
CAT OS and IOS
Although we can 'see' Cisco IOS, we cannot see CATOS. We have tried to upload a MIB, but just fails with nothing special to report (ie helpful). We have a fair bit of equipment that needs this.
After restarting the OpManage application the app is stuck requesting to repair the DB
Tried several times to start OpManager but it fails and suggests repairing the DB. RepairDB.bat runs fixes issues and then problem starts over again

Suppressing alarms from Fa interfaces going up/down
Hi! My Cisco routers have several hundred Fa interfaces, many of them go up/down constantly. (This is normal). Is there a way to suppress the alarms from these interfaces but keep alarms from all Gi interfaces? Regards, Daniel
Missing Event Log Rules
We recently noticed that we now can only see Application and Security Event Log when trying to create a new event log rule. We are missing System and any other event log monitoring. I know that these existed before, but cannot determine how long this has been a problem. How can we get the standard System Event Logs back? Feature request that has been ask about in past and not heard about again
I have asked in the past on things I had in Opmanager 6 that made this product great but lost with the newer version. Some feature were just missing all together. Has anyone else ask for certain features and still are waiting to see it in new releases or hot fix? Few request I have. MSSQL monitor values way off...
Hi opManager team, we have an MSSQL server which is reporting highly improbable values (see image below) - our computers are not that! fast. Other MSSQL servers do not show this problem. Hi all, Is there any provision in Opmanager to monitor the Website from remote location ? I have a webserver connected in the same network as that of Opmanager server. This webserver hosts an application which is accessible from internet. Added devices not showing up
Recently, when I add devices they do not show up anywhere in Opmanager. I have tried restarting the server, repairing the database, and just waiting. I can keep adding them over and over and it says successful, but can never find it. I am using Opmanager 8051 on Windows 2003. Any ideas? -Sam
You are not authorized to view this device details page
Hi, we've got several users who have only rights for viewing some special business views. if the user is logged in he can see all the devices and all alarms. The problem is, that he can't get access to the details site of three devices - the opmanager says: "You are not authorized to view this device details page" We only set his rights to "Has access to the selected business views", nothing else. Why can he see all devices but has no access to some of them Thx for help
Active alarms report
Hello to all. I would like to set up a report sumarizing every morning active alarms and schedule it to send it in a mailbox every day. Currently this is possible but this is a "all events" report and I cannot filter "interesting" alarms ie actives or unacknowledges alarms which I think are more relevant for day to day checks and operations - I can't find a way using opmanager admin console but maybe I missed something. Report of all Servers and their metrics
Hi, I've been asked to produce a report showing all the servers in our OpManager and what metrics are being monitored on each one. Does anyone know how I can produce such a report? Ideally it would be a single table with Servers down the LHS, metrics across the top and the resulting table completed so it's easy to see what metric is being monitored on each server at a glance.. Create custom Compliance policy on NCM plug-in
Hi, I tested both Device Expert and OpManager NCM plug-in. Within the NCM plug-in I cannot find a way to create custom Compliance policy. I have on default Cisco Compliance policy. Is there a way to create new policy or the NCM is a subset of Device Expert? If yes, then I would like to know which features I will loose choosing NCM instead of Device Expert. Thanks, Roberto D.

ESX Montioring
Hello I am evaluating OpManager for my business. I am struggling a bit with vmware monitoing. We have a number of esx hosts (3 and 3.5) but when I discover the devices, OpMangaer does not show any VMs. Is this becuase the machines are configured as a cluster of ESX hosts? Does anybody know how to get around this? Havig read recent posts I understand that ESX/i 4 is to be supported soon... this is will be a key in our decision. Thanks!!

WMI Process monitoring issue
We've run into a small issue regarding WMI monitoring of some process information. We'd like to monitor thread counts of a specific process on a server. This worked great at first, but unfortunately there are now multiple instances of that process being run with different CLI arguments. In adding a normal process monitor, I can see all 6 of the processes and their arguments so I can tell which is which, but when I try to add a WMI process\thread count monitor through the WMI interface in OpManager,

Hi! I have tried to configure the ups_monitors.xml and opmanager_snapshot_dial.xml file to adapt the UPS snapshot to our Eltek UPS. I have been able to get the UPS Load dial to show the correct value but I am not able to make the UPS Status section to work. Any suggestions? Regards, Daniel

pfsense & OpManager Dials.
I have installed OpManager (Build 8051) on RHEL 5 and attempting to monitor several pfsense embedded routers / firewalls. The monitors (CPU Util, Memory Util, etc) are collecting data and graphing. The Dials are not displaying any data and stating "No Data Available". The monitor test are returning values and I have modified the opmanager_snapshot_dial.xml as per other directions found in this forum. Just to confirm operation I added a Netscreen 5GT to OpManager and the dials do populate for it.

When we configured our eval server the date and time was not set properly. In the last day we have configured a considerable amount of devices. Is it possible to reset the evaluation period?
Feature Request: Managed Devices but no status poll
Hello opManager team, I've been using opManager for several years now and I'm quite happy with the product! But there is one feature I'd really like to have: We have several devices (mainly printers and workstations) which do not run 24/7, but which need to be monitored once they are switched on - so I'd like to have a feature "Status poll yes/no" - similar to the status poll for switch interfaces. Is this something that's on your roadmap? And if so, when can we expect such a feature? Regards GWeiss

RSS feeds
A feature that would be really nice is RSS feeds for stuff like alarms and such. This would allow us to integrate OpManager information into custom intranet pages or RSS readers, etc. Has any thought been given to this?
Can't clear alarms

DB Repair
Hi, Please provide us a solution in order to repair our database. The application is down for 3 days and we already opened 2 tickets (4223216 and 4222922) in more than 24 hrs. The RepairDB.bat solution didn't work. Thank you
non-pingable servers
How can I add server which has disabled pings? Discovery doesn't want to add device saying: "Device is not reachable". Thanks for reply in advance.
