Feature request that has been ask about in past and not heard about again
I have asked in the past on things I had in Opmanager 6 that made this product great but lost with the newer version. Some feature were just missing all together. Has anyone else ask for certain features and still are waiting to see it in new releases or hot fix?
Few request I have. Alot of these we didn't find out till we put it to heavy use in our production environment.
1. Reporting on outage are not up to date. You have to wait an hour for it replicate to see in graphs. Some what a major pit fall if you have people who are visually and use this as a major indicator for device failures or network issues.Opmanager 6 was more of a real time indicator than 7 and 8. Only thing was 6 sometime show false positive.
2. User accounts can not be easily edited once made. IE role changes from admin to read only or the other way around.
3. Business View editing. It is not easy to change the name of the maps or adding to devices like it was in Opmanager 6. 6 was not incorporated into the browser as 7 and 8 is.
4. Down Time scheduler. You don't have every month schedule. You do have day and week.
5. Device naming (character display). If you allow long name convention then it the device names should be viewable when adding to maps or schedule.
I can't remember the others at the moment. As I have sent plenty emails in the past about.
I am wondering if others experience this also.

I have been with this company that has been using it for well over 3 years. I came on board using version 6 it did what we needed and wanted beside a few bugs(livable). When version 7 came the whole layout change was not what our company wanted to go with. Then we were ask to use this application on a much larger scale by this time Opmanager 8 was around(improvement on 7). We tested other products and convinced the company that this was the better choice as it has more features and better reporting tools than others. But we still have other monitoring devices running to make sure we are getting the right data. Some time it matches and some time is does not.
We run 2003 with MSSQL.
Another thing that bothers me some times is that you guys release hot fixes quickly and I don't think you throughly test it sometimes because other bugs pops up or issues with installing.
