Address Field limited to 10 digits?
The first line for the address Company Details is limited to 10 digits, this is also true for Vendors, why? TIA
Problems with ServiceDesk web client
Greetings, I have the ServiceDesk package installed on a Windows XP Professional workstation. I can access ServiceDesk from this computer but I cannot pull up the web client from any other computer. I get the generic 'page not found' error. The computer has a static IP address and I added the IP address to the public URL field (and was able to test it successfully). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
MS SQl Database Support
I am currently waiting to purchase service desk but wish to clarify whether if I buy the current build and implement it using the MySQL database whether it will be possible to then migrate this data to MSSQL once it becomes a supported database? If not have you any idea the number of weeks before MSSQL support does become available? Regards David
E-mail Receipts
Hi, We are still in the evaluation phase of the product but are enjoying working with it. As most people agree I'm sure, the most exiting options are yet to come. One option that is used all the time is the "receipts" for the delivery of an email and the "read receipt". Will it be possible to include such an option for when an email is sent to clients as we need proof that the info has been delivered. thanks again for your work. John

Understood that the Inventory module can allow us to choose number of station to display. But I always want to display all workstations in same page. Can we set the default number of workstation? Actually, it's not only for Hardware Inventory (default 25), but also others pages, like users, asset, software, ... Thanks & Regards, Elton
Tracking problems with an Asset
Hi, We have been testing Helpdesk systems for several months and so far SD+ is the best we have come across yet. A couple of things we thought would be useful: 1. Able to allocate an Asset to a User/Department AND a Location 2. Able to track issues with Assets. ie we have a VoIP asset which is faulty and needs to be returned to supplier for repair. We can not anywhere to input a "Request" to track this assets progress. I had a look at the new features coming in the next release, but couldn't see
Exporting from the Iventory
This software would be further enhanced by the ability to define your own reports. The information that is currently available as an export is very limited. I did a scan on the network and recovered Asset Tag which is the serial number of the PC but I can't print a report with those details. Likewise with most od the PC's Specs. Let me know if I've overlooked it in one of the reports. CSV would also be a more valuable export option rather than PDF. :roll:

Hello, we are evaluating SD+ and i miss a function do define a external link for custumers to show or integrate important informations from our erp system (like billing informations, account statements, etc.). To solve this question we need to make individual fields to the customers. these informations should not be editable for the customers (customer no., etc.). Then we need to define the customer main menu, to integrate functions like display account informations, etc. Is a solution in your roadmap
Incorrect allocation of Software License Numbers

Hi, I'm evaluating ServiceDesk Plus, but I've a problem with my Windows XP SP2 workstations: how to scan workstations with Windows XP SP2 and firewall active? Witch TCPIP ports do I need to open in the firewall of the workstations? So far I'm loving ServiceDesk Plus, although I thinks there are several features that need to be added. changes made by technician only show "admin"
Updates to any of my request done by my technicians through the webinterface show up as "admin" instead of their names. See attachment. Also, while the text collapses, the actual section does not. Any idea?
Request ID issue

auto-reply with link to request
How can I include a link to the request in the auto-reply emails? Maybe this is possible but I just haven't found it yet. Basically, "your request #NNN has been received, please check its status here http://helpdesk/WorkOrder.do?woMode=viewWO&woID=NNN" Somewhat related, is it possible to restrict who can view a request (to the requester and technicians?) in case there is passwords or other sensitive information in the request?

Request "Due Date"
What determines the "Due Date" of a request? I cannot seem to locate this option so that I can change the default which seems to be the same day as the request was created.

Is there a way for ServiceDesk to automatically assign the requests to a certain technician based on the "Category" of the request? That would save a lot of time and confusion.
domain scan lockup
hi there great piece of software. but i have a problem..... I cant do a domain scan or ip network scan. I can scan individual PCs and pull off all the information, so DCOM is working. Also tested using net use\\<remote pc>\c$ /u:<domain\username> "<password>" and net use\\<remote pc>\admin$ /u:<domain\username> "<password>" and these report no errors. I can think that its a DCOM erros as each PC can be scanned individually and everything is fine. All that is reported in the log files is ERROR MESSAGE
Multiple email question
I understand that in the next release multiple email boxes will be integrated. Is it possible to assign technicians to departments and departments to a specific mailbox? So that a technician can only see the request from his own departments and not the emails from another department?

Hello; I do not know who this issue needs to go to. I recived the cd with the demo version on it. We are currenlty evaluating several helpdesk softwares. Loading the software was no problem but when I go to start the ServiceDesk manage engine it hangs. The blue bar at the bottom of the screen gets about 90% but never finishes. The program does not coming up as not responding in the task manager and I looked at the processor and memeory and it is not being maxed out so why is it not running. I am

windows2003 domain scan
Hi, please help. there are A,B,C three domain, connected by VPN. trusted each other. SD+ installed in domain A. B with nt4 domain. C upgrade nt4 to windows2003. the problem is : domain B can be scanned now. domain C can be scanned when it was nt4, when upgrade to windows2003, I try to scan the windows domain, it get the result of the total of workstation same as domain A, but only one is successful scan, all other are failed scan. but can scan workstation one by one. hi: I'm trying to install ServiceDesk under linux, but it seems to get stuck searching for the java virtual machine. is it mandatory to have java installed before installing servicedesk? If I'm using a web hosting that doesn't have Java in it, is there a way I can still have Servicedesk installed?
