How to scan workstations with winXP SP2 and firewall active

I'm evaluating ServiceDesk Plus, but I've a problem with my Windows XP SP2 workstations: how to scan workstations with Windows XP SP2 and firewall active?
Witch TCPIP ports do I need to open in the firewall of the workstations?
So far I'm loving ServiceDesk Plus, although I thinks there are several features that need to be added.
