Scanning machine in workgroup!!
SD is not able to automatically scan all the machine in a workgroup but it scan all the machines available when i do a Network scan . Why is this happening and what should i do to scan only workgroup machines?

Has anyone figured out how to monitor the NTFRS service? The port assignment for this service is dynamic I believe. Meaning, a randomly allocated high TCP port between 1024 - 65534.
False Service Down Alarms
Hi, This program is quite impressive !!! I am using the evaluation right now... could any one help me out with my problem... I have windows 2000 Servers with SNMP protocol installed on them.... In Service monitor I am monitoring DNS & LDAP and boths are showing up while in windows monitoring when i put DNS it always shows the service as down... Request Status
We have a helpdesk in place with a open, complete and closed status. Our helpdesk makes contact with our customers before closing a ticket. The ticket will be closed after confirmation from the customer. I have a work around in place by placing a note in the request ticket. This tells the helpdesk the ticket has been completed. We would like to add additional status levels to the request and have the function of the notes, is this possible with the current version.
LOST PASSWORD
Guys- I am using the OPManager 5.0 in my environment, and I lost the OP Manager password. Is there any way to recover admin password? I have only one user license. OPManager is using the default database (MSDE). I cannot uninstall OP Manager, because of some administrative issues. I know the default admin password is admin, but I changed it to something else, and now I want to reset it. Is there anyway to accomplish this task? Is there anyway to recover the default password? How to configure Fedora linux as a router?
I'v installed the NetFlow Analyzer on a Fedora Core 3 server, and soon I figured out that NetFlow Analyzer uses NetFlow data which is generated by a router, so it needs a router. i just to need to monitor and count bandwidth traffic of my office , but i have not any router but just a switch through which all office pc's are connected to the server and to internet. so how i configure the server as a router , or is there any other way, any comment will be appreciated. thanks.

Hello: We have been testing OpManager and works good so far, few issues: 1) We have identified few devices that we dont want to monitor in servers category and for that we first unmanage them and then delete them, however after every restart of OpManager service they get discovered again in Server Category. The product works as per our requirement, however i needed more clarity on the licence needed, If we buy the product with 20 interface pack, does it mean that a total of 20 interface can be managed OR 20 interface per device(router)? Run OpManager in the background on Solaris
Hi, hope I don't sound stupid, but how can I run OpManager in the background on Solaris? Of course, I can start it with './StartOpManagerServer.sh &' which starts it and returns my prompt to me but when I log out I want it to keep running. I tried nohup but it still dies when I exit. Second, I tried creating a testfile, making it executable and nesting the ./StartOpManagerServer.sh & command within it. I nohup this one and run it in the background and works fine until I exit. What am I missing guys?

OpManager gets Authentication Failure with Server 2003
We have been testing OpManager for some time now. The only problem we are running into is that OpManager gets an SNMP Authenitcation Error message when accessing windows server 2003 boxes. We have several servers here that we cannot pull information from that are running 2003. So this would be a problem that needs to be resolved with a patch or diagnosis. My OpManager Server (Win XP Pro, dual 800Mhz processors, 1Gig RAM) crashed. Server was rebooted and the OpManager service restarted. Now when I attempt to login, I receive a �Error in downloading client files from BE� error. How can I correct this?
Installation question.
Do you recommend that a clean installation and configuration of the software be performed when moving from a trial version of the software to a stand alone server with a license? I have viewed the admin documentation and could find no reference to any procedure for moving the program data from a "test" local install to a dedicated server. Thank you.
Windows 2000 pdf export
We had Netflow analyzer running on windows server 2003 and we could not use the pdf export feature. Support told us that it was a windows 2003 issue. So we backed up our Adventnet directory,blew away our installation of windows 2003 and installed windows server 2000. We then installed Netflow Analyzer again to the same location and then copied our backup over the top. However the pdf export option still does not work. We have tried IE6 and Mozilla Firefox 1 on the clients and no success in either.

Replicated Inventory
I've just done a Windows Domain Scan and it has detected all of my workstations okay but it has detected one twice. The details for both workstations are identical. If I remove one and then perform another scan the deleted one reappears. If I delete both, they both reappear. I've checked to ensure that there is only one machine with this particular id and it is. Both machines are using the same IP (according to ServiceDesk). Now is the scan being performed on the AD? If so then I'll check there to

Inventory Windows 9x Machines & Non-Domain Machines
What's the procedure for inventorying Windows 9x machines? I assume WMI needs to be installed on them, but they are not showing up in domain-based Discoveries. Creating dummy devices for business view
Hi, We have a somewhat unique network. We own and manage the local devices and about 100 remote routers across the state. We can telnet, SNMP, and ping all those devices. The problem is with the devices in the middle. They are owned and managed by another state agency that is responsible for the data transport across the state. Hi, Netflow is a really cool software. But it does not support NetFlow v9. and also it works only on certian router. I have Cisco 2621, 1721 & 3COM pathbuilder II S400. It work only on 2621 and not on 1721? I there any reson for it. Both the routers have IOS greater than 12 (which is reqired for netflow). Does 3COM support Net Flow ?? Evaluating - increase max levels of monitors
Have an evaluation copy of OpManager installed. What is the difference between the two installation options 30 day trial and full version? Also the Memory Monitor has a ceiling of 30%. Can this value be change in the evaluation copy or do I need to purchase before I can get past these limitation(s)?
