Cant find any computers
Cant find any computers when i search for them, the domain is there and in the taskmanager i can see some ping-processes. I have activated telnet, wmi and com/dcom on all the computers that is relevant in my domain, also the servicedesk-server is now a part of the domain(it wasn't from the beginning). Tried to scan with a local admin user. Tried to scan with a local linux user. Tried the domain admin. When i search for a specific computer in my domain, i get this: FAILURE : No response received from

Add new host with a domain login account
Hello, When I add a new Windows host, it seems that "EventLog Analyser" always want to use a local account even if I specify user@domain, domain\user or domain/user for the Login Name. Is there a way to use a domain account ? Thanks

Incorrect traffic reported
I am testing out the software and pulling data from our GSR. It's showing grossly inaccurate traffic numbers. I have one client that is on a 100 Mb/s Fast Ethernet port and it shows a spike up to 150 Mb/s.. Why is this? I just started using it and the numbers don't seem anywhere near consistent with my RTG graphs.. Also, since I'm asking questions, how can I see the current usage, not the average but the last reported usage?

I would like to confirm with some of you SD+ users what I was told by an AdventNet sales rep. What I understood is that whatever it costs to originally purchase the product is what you are charged each year for ongoing maintenance and support. Is that right? all server disk usage reports not working correctly
Recently the all servers disk usage report has not been showing data from all the servers listed. There are three servers not listed. however, when I click on the servers not in the report through my server view, the disk utilization graphs do show up. If I click on the All Servers availability report, all the servers show up as well. All of the default server reports show information from all my servers, with the exception of any disk reports. Monitoring a HP Procurve 2650 Switch
Can anyone provide the steps I need to take to have the "CPU Utilization %", "Memory Utilization %", and the "Backplane Utilization %" graphs populate on the snapshot page for a HP Procurve 2650 switch? Also, "Tx Traffic" statistics for this device are being populated, but not the "Rx Traffic". The Tx & Rx Utilization % are also not being populated either. Any help with fixing these would also be appreciated. Thank you. V/

I've setup NFA to show the top 100 hosts for increased accuracy. However when I select "resolve DNS" it can take several minutes for DNS lookups to timeout for un-resolvable Internet IP's (up to a minute). In these instances I select Top 10 & it displays the page much faster. However, when I select another page, it defaults back to Top 100 again. I'd like to see the "display top n" as a sticky function. Keep the "top N" setting for all pages & reports unless I change it manually. Sometimes you don't

Applications manager 6 startup problem
Hi, After I installed some windows updates for Windows 2003 server and reboot the server yesterday, the Applications manager 6 couldn't startup. It pops up an error message saying: Instance of the server is already running or the previous instance was not shutdown properly. If latter is the case, shutdown the server using shutdown script with '-force' as an argument and then try restarting. What's the name of that shutdownscript file? Where can I find it? Uncompiled MIB problem...
Guys, I recently purchased the OpManager 5.6. I have some MIB files from some manufacturer that I need to put in the OpManager. However, the MIB files are in .txt format, which I am guessing is uncomplied. I tried to load the file as is using the MIB browser that comes with OpManager 5.6; however, it does not work. I am guessing that its because the MIB files are not compiled. Is there a way to compile them using OpManager? If so, how can I do it? If its not possible, then what other options do I

Hi, I'm evaluating OpManager to control 6 Proliant DL 380. I installed HP Driver Pack and insight management Agents for windows 2003 v. 7.2. Possible multidomian AD workaround?
Is there anyway I can access the user accounts database within adventnet to edit the usernames? and set a default password? This would greatly help me workaround my problem of having 7 domains. Just an idea?
Restrict priority level by category, not user selectable
We are looking to have the priority level be populated by the category selection (Only). To prevent a SMS every time a End user decides to make something a High priority. In our environment users make everything a high priority. Thanks Scott

Reports not showing Data
I am trying the free product and installed it thrice, every time with the same luck: the program seems to work fine, but the reports show dashes where it should show numbers. I would like to know wether this problem is solved somewhere else and if this could be caused by the fact that the machines are W2K Spanish. Thanks!

Search in Asset with barcode

Disk Utilization % - correction
Hi, I have found a code mistake in file HostResource.xml. Using original one delivered with the OpManager 5.6 Disk Utilization % was always 0!!! Telnet/SSH based monitors for Solaris
Hi, I have problems with the Telnet/SSH based monitors for Solaris. It keeps on telling me that something is wrong like username/password and so on. But when I try normal telnet from my cmd on laptop everthying is OK. It was working on previous version 5.5. I tried to monitor OpManager requests by Ethereal and I saw message TCP CHECKSUM INCORRECT. Is this message caused by application or something else? ups disappeared form business view
hi i added a ups device to a business view but its type was unknown, then i got its OID and then i added a new device type and i specified this type to my device, but once i did this it disappeared from the business view and i couldn't add it again to the view. Can any one help? Regards
adding a site that is offline
how can i add a site that is not yet actvated so that when the site comes on line it will be discovered. Example is haveing a site in the business view or where ever , though it will appear down and will come up as soon as the site is put online. Thanks, F2b
Pic Attachment shows up as blank filler in new request in SD
If a user sends me a screenshot with their request, it shows up as an attachment, but then as a blank jpeg can't be displayed... Any ideas? Thanks.
trouble with CPU utilization via net-snmp

Active Directory authentication
OK, So you have AD authentication, which is great, but 1 huge problem.... What if you have more than one domain? You can only authenticate against one domain, I have 7!!!! Please add the ability to authenticate to a forest, not just a domain... you can do this from a server that is the root of the forest... you just need to allow the user to enter their domain in the logon.
Cisco 2811 detected as type "Unknown"
I am using Cisco 2811 routers and when I initially added them to OpManager 5.6 they appeared with the type "Unknown". I then added a Custom Device Type for a "Cisco 2811" with the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.576. I tried rediscovering the device to set the correct device type, but it still appeared as unknown. The only way I seem to be able to set the correct device type is by deleting the device and readding it. Is there a better way to do this? V/

Disk usage on RedHat ES 4 with LVM

buisness view views
I'm arranging our sites on the US map and clicking "save view" to create a buisness view. This works... sometimes. It seems to randomly reset itself and arrange all the servers into their default sorted position. What is reseting these to default? Its a lot of work to arrange everything where it needs to be only to have it mysteriously undo itself. Caerie
