A few questions before prod install
Hello All, We're looking at installing OpManager to monitor our devices network usages. We run webservers and want to monitor (for example) when clients upload mp3's/movies etc and the network utilization skyrockets. We installed on a test server, but before we install on a production server I just wanted to check: - We should be able to do network utilization monitoring either at the router / switch or server level via SNMP? - It won't intefer if we install it on a server that is already acting
Change the 3 default graphs
CPU Utilization % Memory Utilization % Disk Utilization % How would I go about changing say 'Disk Utilization %' to 'System Processes Running'? or another value? Is this even possible? if not WHY not?
traffic 2 IP addresss ( server ip's) how do I do it
I have 2 servers ( IP addresss ) and port numbers and I want track traffic and bandwidth 2 and from ... can I do it from my local pc without installing the software on the servers ?
email notification not working

OPMANAGERE - MAPS
How do I change the sequence of items in the MAPS tab. I can see options to SORT based on device type, Display name. Is it possible for me to change the sequence of items that appear as tabs on the top (Web, Telnet etc..) in the Select View --> Details. Thanks.
Maximum temperature
OpManager gives temperatures values of our server above the 54 degrees C. Are these values normal or are they to high? It are HP DL360's en 380's in a cooled area.

Location - useless?
Hi all, We're currently evaluating SDP, and for the most part I like what I see. The one major problem we're running into though is the inability to use the Location field in a business rule. I understand Departments are tied to Locations, and you can use Departments in Business Rules. But we're also using AD integration, and when you use an AD user as a requestor, you cannot select a department. Most of our users in AD were not entered with departments (we're a school) and thus this does us no good.
Request Category button problem
We have set up SDP so that we have over 100 request categories (including Main Categories, sub-categories and sub-sub- categories). Hi there I have a Router which has the SNMP support I am sure for that. Is there any links for the SNMP softwares from where I can download SNMP Related software. Assigning to a Department AND a User
I'm just evaluating this product for our school and would like to know if it's possible (or if it's in development) to assign a machine/laptop to a Department AND a User at the same time? In our school a Laptop is assigned to a Department, but also to a individual user. At the moment I'm adding the Assigned user to the Comments section manually.
Notofication Profiles exist but are not displayed
Hi - I've created a couple of notification profiles, but I noticed I'd accidentally capitalised the name of one, so I've deleted it and created a new one (so, with the same name but different capitalisation). Since then I can't see any of the existing notification profiles. If I try to create one with the same name as before it tells me that the profile already exists. Because it is not displayed, I can't assign it to anything! Assuming I've messed up the table in some way, but no idea how to check
sort business views?
Say I add a two business views called 12 & 14 -then I create 15, 16, 17, etc. Later I want to create a view called 13. Is there anyway to order these views so that 13 isn't way at the bottom?

Disk Utilization Graph
Is there any way to change the graphs that show in the snapshot page up top (where the cpu and memory tachometers are at)? I would like to see both disk utilization %'s, it only defaults to the c drive I think. I am using WMI for monitoring and both the disks are setup under the "resource monitors" area. I am using the full version on the 30 day trial. TIA

Monitoring Router WIC ports
I have a number of routers in my environment, and I can monitor the FastEthernet ports OK, but I don't have any of the WIC ports showing in my interfaces list. Do I need to set up something special in OM to be able to monitor my point-to-point bandwidth and traffic, or am I missing something else? Thanks! Don Johnson

Switch errors not showing?
In OPManager, we add monitoring of a managed switch. The switch shows SNMP statistics as well, but shows errors such as collisions, FCS errors, etc, but the OPManger shows no errors. It shows all the traffic, but no errors. We're using the latest version of OPMAnager.
Date calculations using Crytsal Reports
Hi all, I've got the Crystal report link up and running, and can now create reports the way we require them. Once you have the datamodel it is all relatively easy and straightforwarded. The one thing I cannot manage however is formatting the dates in a way we (humans) can easily read and understand. I saw earlier post about using sql statements, but I cannot find any place to insert these (after extensive searching in the help). Anybody to the rescue ?? Thanks in advance, Jan-Peter Beekman
re open a closed ticket=>wrong time spent
Hi, Ticket logged at 4pm on MON, and closed at 5pm on MON, will show as taking 1 hour . But the requester replies to the email "notification when the request is closed" 3 days after (to say thank you for exemple) then the request is re-open (automaticaly). so the technician re-closed the request and then the request will shows as taking 31hours (the service is open 10 hours per day) instead of 1 hour and 1 minute. Is there a way to have the good time spent on the request ? thanks sorry for my english

Hi! One of our customers want to have customized page, where he wants to have graphs about different devices/servers all on one page. One idea is also, they will have it on big screen somewhere, to show current network status. Can this be done and if yes, then in what way? We ahve skills in java and other scripting languages. Add Time Entry
In some requests the "Add Time Entry" button does nothing when you click on it. I have tried but cannot see a any difference between some of the requests in which this does not work and most of the others in which it does. Also some requests don't show the start/stop timer action link on the right. I know its probably something obvious - but can someone tell me what it is?
Traffic flow
I have an issue where the traffic flow in and out options are grayed out. I can no longer monitor the bandwidth from the routers. It was working fine for one day and now I can't track anything. Any suggestions?
slow response times
Can someone please explain to me the following in opmanager 5.5 , in the service monitors section it is stating the following Monitors Service Monitors 0/2 monitors down. Name Status Port Response Time (ms) tomcat 8080 4491 Web 80 4491 Show / Hide Monitors this indicates that it is taking about 5 seconds to connect to that port yet when i telnet into these ports it is instant and connects with in a few seconds I presume the slowness is due to other servers being monitored? if not what is the correct
OpManager not polling
I have a trial installation of OpManager on Red Hat 7.3, but it does not appear to be polling SNMP. I observer the following... - I am able to do a snmpget from the command line using v1 and v2c - I am able to use the MIB browser - I am able to look at Asset Details, Installed Software, and Active Process - I am able to see SNMP request attemps in the log file of a target server - I am not able to see results from SNMP monitors - I am not able to test SNMP monitors using the same OIDs I successfully
Cisco ASA5520 Firewall Support
Anyone have an ASA55xx that they are monitoring? Mine gets detected as a "Computer" (with a blue star). When I change it to a PIX firewall it still doesn't monitor correctly. If I click on an interface I get a blank web page. What do I need to do to monitor it correctly? For those who don't know, the ASA is the next generation PIX firewall. They still run the PIX code (7.xx currently).

Scripted changes to OpManager nodes
Hello, I'm evaluating using OpManager to monitor a cluster of a couple hundred servers. I would like to easily be able to add and remove nodes from OpManager as the cluster is modified. Is it possible to do this through scripts, by modifying config files, or though the MySQL database? Hand entering nodes would be a bit too time consuming for our needs.
