Business Rules - SMS notifications
Hi Could a business Rule be created that would notify a technician via SMS of a particular incident/request. I am aware that "Notify technician by sms when request is assigned" could be enabled but then that would be all requests which would not be suitable. I appreciate that we could create another technician just for SMS notifications but again that is not ideal. Has anyone else got a need for this, i.e. something to warn you when your server is about to crash or the Air Conditioning in the server
Forum Registration Problem
Whenever I try to register (it's the same after pressing 'register' the first time) it displays the following message and won't allow me to register as user. You have exceeded the number of registration attempts for this session. Please try again later. Maybe a problem with cookies or sth. like that? I checked my settings in IE6 --> Security at middle; all settings at standard; all cookies allowed and pop-up blocker disabled. Thanks for your suggestions. Lionheart
strange port on our managed Switch
hi, OpManager is running and successfully managed all the device that we wish to monitor in our network, but the strange thing is that with our 3com switch. our 3com switch only has 24 ports on it but we're wondering why in OpManager, it shows 30 and more switch. is there any explanation why this things happened and how to configure the OpManager in order to monitor the right port of this switch. eventanalyzer and linux syslog
I currently setup eventanalyzer in Suse linux 10. In order to support cisco device on udp 514, I have to config host listen on 514 but it conflict to linux syslog service. I manage to get it to work by disable the syslog service on the linux. For not interrupting the syslog service on the linux system, can I forward all syslog message to eventanalyzer in order to keep both working? Or there is better way to make them both work together?
Problem in running Op Manager in Windows
It's my first time downloading Op manager, but after installing it I can't run it, even I have no idea how to start it. When I run Op manager web client it shows web page which says: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. I am trying to send varbinds in a Trap to a trap receiver. My monitor is an Oracle Database. I followed the documentation, writing the following: Object ID: 1.5.0, 1.5.1, 1.5.2 Message (varbinds): $HOSTIP, $SEVERITY, $MONITORNAME When I tried executing the Trap, the action fails. Permanent CPU usage of ~ 98%
Hi I've installed the Eventlog Analyser an when I start the Service, the CPU usage is permanent ~ 98%!!!!!!!!! The Programm SysEvtCol.exe and mysqld-nt.exe are almost permanent running with a CPU usage of 70-100%!!!! they always alternate or they need 100% of CPU usage together!!!! how can I fix this problem? these are the server conditions: ram: 384 MB Harddisk: 20 GB P4 3.2 GB the server runs on a vmware virtual server! could you please help me? thank's dambi

Hello All, We're looking at installing OpManager to monitor our devices network usages. We run webservers and want to monitor (for example) when clients upload mp3's/movies etc and the network utilization skyrockets. We installed on a test server, but before we install on a production server I just wanted to check: - We should be able to do network utilization monitoring either at the router / switch or server level via SNMP? - It won't intefer if we install it on a server that is already acting

Persistent statement that SQL Server Services is not running. This is occurring with any SQL Server instance I try to monitor. I have uploaded the .jar files. Yet the problem still persists. I am evaluating the software as a secondary monitoring system. With Manageengine Build No:6056 on Windows 2003, We try to add JBoss 3.2.3 on a Solaris Box. If I test http://machinename:8080/jmx-console/ it works. When we add the monitor there are no error, but after the monitor says that the JBoss in unavailable and no additionnal info about the Jboss are provided. Availability
I have 2 servers that are showing as down in Today's availability. It has been showing this for the past few days. These servers are not down. The Memory, CPU, and Disk Utilization gauges seem to be functioning correctly, but the availability does not. What do I need to do to corrct this.

Holidays with rules instead of hard dates?
Can the holidays definition include rules, or be able to import them from elsewhere on a regular basis? Defining when Memorial Day is (as the last Monday in May) would be more helpful than specifying a particular date. Likewise, Thanksgiving, labor day. etc. (for USA) Additionally, it might be good to have a 'blackout' period for weekly staff meetings where requestors could be told that their request will be taken when staff meeting is complete. We're a medium size business, and not a corporate entity.

Can you please clarify Section 4 (vii) which restricts us from allowing clients to use the 'licensed software'. Given that the purpose of the application is to allow our clients to logon to SupportCenter and place requests, this is at variance with to intended purpose, is it not? Regards Rob

Our organization has been using Track-IT for about 2 years. We are using service desk as a 30 day trial. My concern is that this software is made for small shops and not for mid size organizations. Hi, I am testing your Eventlog Analyser software. The software is running on a Dual 3.20ghz server with 2gb of ram. The software overall performs poorly, the time to browse events and generate reports is unbearable. 1. Is there is global option to change the number of polling retries before sending out the error in the OpManager. I know that this is there in Applications Manager. 2. Can I configure/customize to add more items in the reports ie., currently it lets me add only devices for reports... can I add service monitors too? Thanks.
Requester list
I just imported all the requester from my Active Directory. However, when I want to create a new request, some of the users does not show the Name so, I could not select them as the requester. This is shown on Image1.png. If I refresh the page, for instance, changing the number of display name per page, I shows the Name of the requester. However, I am not able to select it as the requester. This is shown on Image2.png Under the requester list, it shows everything fine. This is shown on Image3.png

DCOM errors and server status down?
Hi, When the OpManager server is trying to contact clients that aren't available, I get a DCOM error from the OpManager server and this flags the server to be "problem". Is there any way around this? I think the DCOM is for WMI access. Thanks, Simon

No firewall bandwidth graphs since upgrade to 6.0
Hi, Since upgrading to 6.0, I don't get any bandwidth graphs for my PIX firewalls any more. The bytecounts seem to be collected, I just get a blank page when I try to view the graphs. If I view the source, all that's there are some <map></map> tags containing <area> tags. There's nothing else. thanks, alec

We have two servers defined that run djbdns (tinydns). When we defined them OpManager does not "see" the DNS service. Is OpManager looking for DNS on the TCP port instead of the UDP port?

Hourly rate tied to SLA
Several people have suggested that you add the capability of setting an hourly rate for an account rather than a technician. I think adding an hourly rate as part of an SLA might make more sense in the context of SC. Quick fix for hourly rate
A quick fix for the issue of charging different rates for different customers might be to allow an override of the default hourly rate when entering 'time spent' on a request. This way, until the best way is determined of handling this issue, we'd have a way to charge different rates. Just my 2 cents.
