Monitor Service State via SNMP

Monitor Service State via SNMP

Because most of the servers we monitor is on the other side of a firewall and we don't want to open RPC and CIFS (which I think are rather critical ports) we are trying to set up service monitoring via SNMP instead.

I have come as far as if I add a custom monitor with OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.77.1.2.3.1.3 (which is svcServiceOperatingState) I get graphs for all services available on the server wich i add the Monitor to, but they are all represented in one page.
But what I would like to do is add one custom monitor per service that I would like to monitor and preferably get a threshold alerting if it goes to 0 (1 means Service is active).
But when I add a custom monitor for DNS Server service which has OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.77.1.2.3.1.3.10.68.78.83.32.83.101.114.118.101.114 it does not return any result. If I go to Test monitor... it says " The Monitor did not respond to the test request" and the OID says .1.3.6.1.4.1.77.1.2.3.1.3.10.68.78.83.32.83.101.114.118.101.114.0, I noticed that it has added a 0 to the back of the OID.

I have verified with MIB browser that it is the correct OID and there it returns 1 (active).

The best thing would be if I could get a red/green light for these monitors just as you would for the WMI Service Monitors.

Any help is appreciated!
