Self Test to insure OpManager is functioning correctly
Hello, I'm trying to gather a list of items (processes, services, logs, etc) that I can monitor and have a reasonable "self test". The point behind the self test would be to determine the health or running state of the critical parts of the monitoring engine. The important parts being the scheduler, data collection, rule engine and alert system. Using FA4 with Watchguard, what is next step?
I am using a Watchguard firewall with Fireware 8.3. I have it setup to do syslogging and I have verified this is working as I installed Kiwi Syslog and can see the realtime events through Kiwi. My question is, now what? I see on the home tab in FA4 that is states that "No firewall is currently exporting logs to Firewall Analyzer" I also see where I can add another syslog server. Workstation Additional Fields
Hi, i add a additional field to the workstation because we have a internal serial number for hardware (ex BUEDC0001). The question is how can i see this field in the inventory??? Besides Workstation, Model, Domain,OS,Assigned to, and service tag i want to see this new field that i create. Also is there any way to disable the Model Filter?? Regards

Hallo, I am using OpManager 6.0, Build 6002 with Hotfix 6 on a Server with MS Windows Server 2003 SP1. This server monitors 3 other servers, 8 print-servers and 1 switch. Every 5 minutes i am getting from the montoring-server the following alarm: Trouble Mai 01,2006 10:42:37 AM AuthenticationFailure : null When I delete all monitored objects it stops getting this error. Customize snapshot views?
Hi, I'd like to add different gauges and views to the main page of a device. For example, when clicking on a server, there are guages for CPU load, Memory load, etc. I'd also like to add Vender Specific monitors into the gauges, such as temperature, so that I can view easily without generating reports.
ServiceDesk & OpManager
Hi There We have Opmanager, Eventlog Analyzer and Service desk all running quite well on the same server, but using different DNS alias's so I can move them at a later date. ServiceDesk is running with Active Directory and gets all its users from there. I am trying to integrate ServiceDesk and OpManager but get the error "Unable to fetch values from ServiceDesk Plus, The server might not be running or the network traffic may be too high. Win XP Home supported in Window Domain Scan?
I do not even want to get into why my company has Win XP Home on any of their computers (just took over, and some rocket scientist thought it was a wonderful idea a year ago), but I am trying to scan the Windows Domain and I am continually running into FAILURE :Either access denied for the user or the remote DCOM option might be disabled in the workstation. Before I pull my hair out fruitlessly, can a Win XP Home machine be scanned remotely by SD+? Am I missing something simple? Thanks! Ken
CPU usage
How much is too much? I'm running the AppManager 7.0.1 on a Compaq DL380 with with 2x1266MHz and 10GB memory. The O/S is Fedora4. The NIC is running at 100 full duplex, and my network guys were monitoring it and see less than 1% collusion rate - which they tell me is darn good. My problem is that the java process owned by the user running AppManager is using up on the average 95% of the CPUs. On the support tab the JVM Memory Information is: Total JVM Heap Size 99MB Used JVM Heap Size 36MB Free JVM
Closing Requests without inputting any info
Hi, I have a number of staff who close requests without putting in any info as to what the solution was. Is there a feature which we can enable to prevent this or is this part of a future release?
ServiceDesk scan fails, invalid password or user
We are running ServiceDesk on a Debian workstation. We are trying to scan WinXp workstations on our network. The scans fail because of an invalid username or password. We have disabled the WinXP firewalls on each pc so that's not the issue. How can we set up the scans to authenticate on these XP pcs?
Cannot delete "normal" priorty
Hi Just started using ServiceDesk Plus and have run through all the options on the wizard. Have started logging requests and decided on using low, medium and high priorities. However, I am unable to delete the default normal priority and get the following error:- "FAILURE :Priority is being used by a module. Hence cannot delete it" I thought that maybe I had left a few requests as normal but when I ran a report, it showed none. Any ideas? :)

asset does not show all contracts
We have an asset that has several contracts, but only the first contract is shown in the asset details. The contracts do have the right asset assigned, but we can hardly be expected to check all contracts if we want to find all contracts assigned to a certain asset?
Running Netflow and Firewall Analyzer on the same server
Hi Guys We currently run Netflow Analyzer, and are also interested in Firewall Analyzer. My question is this, can both these applications run on the sames server and if so can they share the same instance of MYSQL or do they have to run seperate instances? Are they OK running on the same server or would you recommend running them on different servers? Thanks Lee
Same SNMP Trap Every 5 minutes
I am running App manager build 7102 SP 1.2. I set up an SNMP listener for authentication failure. I get the trap when I cause the failure to be written to the Security event log. The problem is that I keep getting that same trap every 5 minutes from then on (polling time). The only way to stop it is to stop the SNMP service on the server that is sending it. This happens on any windows server I trigger it from. Is there something that the server is looking for (a response) from the app manager server
Additional Requester Fields missing
I have added additional requester fields and since SP9, I have tried to go and change the additional requester fields I have added and now they do now show up within the Admin, requester- additional fields. Why is this? I wanted to change one that I added months ago and now I am unable to do so. I even just tried to add a new one and it does not show up either. Please assist!!!
Strange graphic/font glitch in IE7???
I am having a graphic/font issue with IE7 (not sure if it happens in previous versions). When you log in, the page comes up with the normal fonts/display, then flips over all the formatting and fonts change to a basically unusable layout (see attached file) Anyone seen this? I do not get it in Firefox, so I am thinking of just having everyone use Firefox to use the site... thoughts? Ken

Solution for DCOM run in clients
hi, I configure in clients and test clients. Many clients have Error as: Either access denied for the user or the remote DCOM option might be disabled in the workstation. After I read troubleshooting for guide but also many clients allways for problem DCOM disable. Athought I configure DCOM enable and command dcomcnfg and enable. I dont understand Helpdesk always notice error : Either access denied for the user or the remote DCOM option might be disabled in the workstation.
Assign Group Based on Category
Is there a way to automatically assign a ticket to a group based on the category? I know its possible to assign it to a specific technician, but we would like to assign it to an entire group. Thanks!

Hi gang. I just know this is going to be simple.... When SD+ sends a "notification" to the user. If the user replies, it opens a new job. How do you stop this? Also, if a user replies, how do the technicians know there is a reply if a new job is not logged?

I just started using the demo version of NFA 5.5 and I'm running into a problem. I'm monitoring two serial interfaces on a router and I'm getting anomalous results that I think are being caused by per-packet load sharing. The problem is that the output utilization charts and tables are often going well over 100% of the link speed. The link speed is configured correctly and the active timeout is one minute. Feature Request Flow Map
Hi, Great product, trialing it at the momment, one feature we would love to see in it is a Flow Map. Bascially this would be a MAP or View of our routers connected together and the links between these would corrispond to the flows runnig between them. The links themselves would change color as the traffic increases and decreases, this would provide an easy way to view the preformance of our network. This would give a more dynamic feel to our monitoring of our routers. We are trialing another product
WMI Authentication Thru A Firewall
I have opened up the following ports: TCP Port 135 (RPC) and TCP Port 445 (WMI). However, when I try to add a device using WMI, I see denies on random ports to the devices. I even went as far as to add the device after moving the App Manager to the same network (no firewall which works) and then back. As soon as I move it back, I get RPC server is unavailable when polling occurs. The denied TCP port numbers that I see are random (1087, 2403, etc). I need to know how I can force APP manager to use

History Report
Is there any way to create a report of changes on all desktops? I see the list of changes when I view the History for each machine. I would like to have a global report of all changes without looking at each machine.

Why All the Items under the MAPS tab are gray
I am trying to fond out whay all of the items in this case just a few server are now showing all gray in color rather than green like they use too. I also notice that now when I select one it shows the status unknown and I have to manually select each monitor device and test it in order to get them to display meaning Memory, Disk usage, CPU Usage.
