Datamigration from SD+ Linux to Windows

Compatibility ELA and Snare
I am evaluating eventlog analyzer in our environment. I have Snare agent install on windows and I have verified it is sending syslog message on UDP 514 to the Eventlog Analyzer (by sniffing via Ethereal on the client). However, it is not showing up as a host on the Eventlog Analyzer. Do I have to manually add the windows host? I would rather not do that to avoid setting up administrative access from ELA server for security reason. In short, is ELA compatible with Snare agent? Snare agent is sending
Software Type / Licenses
Would it be possible to add some extra fields to the software type so that shareware and freeware could be a Software Type this would help with acrobat reader and alot of other software that we use for configuration and test and measurement that do not require a license. Would also be great if there could be a rule that if software category is freeware then no license is required.
ASSETS: IMPORTING Additional INFORMATION
Is there any way to add information from a barcode scanner to the assets created by the purchase orders? Any scanning applications compatible? A import/export wizard for this data would be nice and solve communication problems not only for assets. Does anybody use a barcode scanner/printer with the servicedesk?

unable to scan domain
chaps ive had this issue for a while now, but only just got round to investigating it. On the domain scan my SDP server cant scan any PCs. At first thought it was down to setting/dcom etc. But now ive had chance to play it looks like its the actual data in the database which is the issue!!! If i do an install of the same version of SDP on a different PC and then scan the domain everything works great. If i uninstall then reinstall and import the backed up data from the live server i cant scan the

Hi there, I am having a problem scanning one of the domains (student) we use. It is set up correctly for a scan, but does not seem to find any workstations and says scan complete. The other domain (staff) scans without problem and finds all attached workstations. Curiously if I do a single scan of a known IP of something in the student domain it can scan it without a problem, so the firewall is not an issue! Any help would be much appreciated Thanks Simon

Service Desk Domain Scan
I am having issues with the domain scans in service desk. I have followed the instructions in the forums, modifying the com+ permisions and all the other settings presented. I have made holes in the windows firewall. I have roughly 30% of my machines that are actually getting the scans done, the others are configured the same way. Getting a TomCat exception when trying to browse remotehost
I am trying to import Squid log files via FTP (I am using ProFTPd on Fedora Core 5). When I try to browse for the access.log file, I am getting a TomCat error in the popup browser window where I assume I am supposed to be seeing a list of files to select from. I am attaching the support log files. I have verified that both PASV and non-PASV ftp work correctly and get me to the correct location on the FC5 server and can obtain the file list. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I often find myself going back and forth between request views, My Pending Requests and My Open or Unassigned Requests. Is there a way to combine those two? Or is this the only way without seeing other technician's requests?

Unable to run EventLog Analyzer

Properties for COM Internet Services
Hi All Before I started using Eventlog Analyzer, I secured some AD traffic by restricting the Port Range of 'Connection-oriented TCP/IP'> 'Properties for COM Internet Services' to 50004-50100. I can not add these AD Controller to Eventlog Analyzer. I can, however, add any host which I have not restricted the ports. Is there a way to get Eventlog Analyzer to talk to my 'secured' hosts. Business views are great! Here are some suggestions to make them even better: 1) Text blocks - add a text object to a view 2) Image objects - ability to add images to view that are not associated with a device (an image of an empty rack for example or an internet cloud) 3) frames - ability to add a frame so you could put a line around a group of related devics and label it (with #1 above of course) 4) URL objects - Have seen the work-around of putting in device, not quite the same. 5) Line tool -
Locked out of OpManager
A fellow staff member was recently playing around with the admin account of our OpManager and has locked us out. We receive the follow error message when trying to login with the admin account: "Error in downloading client files from BE" I haven't had a chance to look into it yet or even ask what he was doing when it happened. Does the error message give you guys any clues to solve this problem quickly? Thanks.
