Not receaving e-mail notification for devices fails
Hi all, I have created a e-mail notification profile and tested it. Then in the The Quick Configuration wizard i have Assign a notification profile to all devices with all criteria and i'm not receiving the e-mails... any ideas? Am i missing anything? Funny thing i'm receiving the e-mail notification from URL monitors.... Tanks, Manuel Pereira.

device down - notification issue
Hi, I've installed the s/w. Configured and tested email alerting, and when I turn off a server which is monitored, I see the alert is registered but I do not receive any email. Any suggestions?

Multiple Installs of opManager
We have purchased a single user copy of the opManager Premium. Currently we have all of our devices monitored by one server. Is it possible to install the software on another server to be used as a backup server at a different site? Would we need to purchase an additional user license to do this? Is it worth doing? Cisco ASA giving back odd snmp data
We are testing opmanager to replace our current monitoring tool but I have hit a snag. SupportCenter receiving tickets from ServiceDesk
We are an organization that supports multiple external customers but function as the internal helpdesk for these customers. We like the asset tracking functions of ServiceDesk, but would like a more centralized method of handling trouble tickets. Would it be possible for ServiceDesk to redirect tickets to SupportCenter and automatically delete the ticket within ServiceDesk so there is only one instance of the ticket, or some other form if integration? Cannot connect to client on RedHat Fedora
I cannot connect to the client on RedHat Fedora 4. I run StartOpManagerClient.sh as root and then attempt to login to the client. I simply get a popup box that says "Check Server Name." No matter what I type into the server name box it does not come back. I have tried localhost, the actual machine name, the ip address, and the loopback address. It never connects. Has anyone else seen this? What am I doing wrong?
alert when a monitored value is other than specified?
Hi, Currently I am monitoring my physical drives status through snmp, because we had some failed drives recently. A drive can have the status: other = 1, ok = 2, failed = 3, predictiveFailure = 4 . It will return a value of 2 when status is ok. If the status changes to 1 or 3 or 4, I would like to receive a notification. But with the current threshold configuration it is not possible is it? Email Connection
I am not able to successfully test the email connection. I entered the name of the outgoing SMTP server (the default port is 25) along with the "Default Email Address to send alerts to" and the "From Address" value. I continuously receive the message "Test Mail Failed". Thanks in advance.
Active Directory Import
I'm trying to import my users from Active Directory in SD+ v 5.5 build 5507. I choose my OU to import and click on "Start importing" . SD+ enumerates the users and starts to import, but all of the imports fail. Any idea, what could cause this? Regards, Luc Hagen

Hi, Why is when I have 'Also create self-service login account' checked it doesn't work. When I have checked, you can only enter the system if you have an account and password. How does this work? Hi there! Im a new user here! I'am trying to generate an Inventory Based report to make a list of all Workstations in my database ... It's really useful to me that the field "Last Scanned" appear's on this report! The problem is that i just can't select this Field at "Report Wizard" in the "Display Columns" screen! Application Response Time 4500ms
Hello, i've had the same problem a year ago: some server applications had 4500ms response time shows the dashboard. When i had the problem a year ago, a false DNS server was the problem. but now, DNS server is ok. i've changed the network card in the opmanager-server. is this a known problem - is there any solution for this problem? with regards, martin
External Customer Workstations Import
We are evaluating SD+ purchase. We provide support services for several external customers. (Requesters for us are customers ) As I see we can only add workstations manually (one at time, too much work) or scaning domain but this option does not fit our needs because are external customers as I mentioned. Is there any way to import all workstations from an CSV file. Why not to create a special software to scan workstations in externals networks and then import the data collected into SD+ ? I think
Location of additional requester fields
I have added an additional field (location) for requesters. I cannot find which table this field resides in. Please inform where custom requester fields are located. As an aside, my assessment is that the built-in location field is tied to a department. What if a deparment has multiple locations? That is why I created the custom field location. Could it be made possible to display additional requester fields on a request's detail page?
Versions of OpManager?
We are currently trialing this product (using version MSP Edition build 6002) and I have a couple of questions (so far!). The documentation shows a way of configuring SNMP Trap processors under the admin tab but we don't seem to have that option? In much the same way we we don't seem to have an MIB Browser icon under admin either? Any ideas?

The way we work we ask our requesters to provide 3 secraty questions to confirm there identity when requesting a password reset. We have added 3 requester additional fields (1 for each answer) what we need to do is import all the info from our old helpdesk into SD+ We can export for our old helpdesk to a spreadsheet but how do I import a spreadsheet?

First ... thank you for pulling out the 'default' information that was being included in the custom reports! It makes these reports better. However, the reports still have formatting problems with a lot of white space. Is there any way to clean out the blank spaces? Is there any way to generate a report in a format other than pdf? If not, please consider allowing the ability to generate reports in a format other than pdf. (doc, xls or even txt would be good) That way it could be formatted based on

Unable to discover Netscreen - 204 in Firewall analyzer.
Hi, I need some help with the discovery of Netscreen 204 in firewall analyzer. I am using build 4020 of the Firewall analyzer. Snmp has been configured on NS- 204 as well as the syslog logging server IP address and port no. 1514 have been configured on the same. What other configuration changes do I need to make to get this problem resolved. Kindly revert back at the earliest. The NS - 204 firewall gets discovered in the OpManager. There is also a PIX firewall on the network, which is being monitored
Error when attempting to load traps
I am trying to load traps from a file. I receive the following error when I try this: IMPORTS failed: Could not open file C:/Program Files/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/./mibs/NETSCREEN-SMI I am running OpManager on Windows 2003 installed in the default directory of C:/Program Files/AdventNet/ME/OpManager. The MIB is in the directory, but it seems that the extra "/./" in the path is causing this not to be able to load. Has anyone else seen this or have any idea what could be causing this? Distribution List Management
We would like the same features as users have, except for contacts instead. We basically want to manage a number of DLs with external addresses. Many of the contacts are on other DLs as well, so duplicate management is a real hassle right now. We would be ready to buy this tool asap if contacts can be managed in the same way, IF you can bulk add contacts to a DL so that it checks AD to see if a contact exists, and if not, adds it to a customizable OU. OU Based Help Desk User
I would like to setup a helpdesk role that locks the user into a specific OU. The reason behind this is to keep our helpdesks separate and not allow them to query other parts of the AD. I want to setup my Human Resource dept to be able to modify the basic information of users, but on an independant scale and without the use of importing a CSV file. Missing traffic on interface
I have configured netflow export according to the documentation but I have one router which refuses to provide netflow accounting on the serial interface. I receive stats from E0/0 and E0/1 but not s0/0.
