IT automation in opmanager
The new IT automation option is very nice, but when I tried to compress/delete old files, I only get files compressed or deleted in the folder I specified, not the ones in the nested folders it contains. Is this the expected behaviour or could I get the entire folder tree compressed/deleted?
'File Monitor' not work for Desktop category
Hi all, I am using OpManager v8 build 8812. I already setup some devices in OpManager : a windows 7 and a windows 2008 machines. Windows 7 is under 'Desktop' category and windows 2008 is under 'Server' category. At the windows 7 machine, 'Monitors' tab, 'File Monitors', I click 'Click here' nothing comes up and I saw a error prompt at status bar. In Windows 7 machine, 'Passwords' > 'Test Credential', SNMP and WMI are Passed. However in windows 2008 machine, the 'File Monitors' function works fine.
Incorrect Information is displayed
Hi there, Opmanager is displaying incorrect HDD utilization of one of the Linux servers. At dashboard it is displaying one partition is 67% full but when you go to the snapshot page of that device it is displaying disk usage is 100% and generating false alarms. I requested the linux team to manually check the disk usage of that server, it was only 65% full. I thought that I have misconfigured the device so I deleted the device and re-added it to opmanager but the result was same. I tried to reinstall
Top 10 CPU not showing Virtualized devices
We are testing OpManager and i have a question, On the "Home - Overview" page i have the "Top 10 CPU Utilization" widget added and i have set it to show ALL DEVICES. Why does this widget not show any of the Virtualized devices in there? So far only Servers added independantly are showing but no virtual machines OR ESX hosts are showing their CPU usage in this widget. The Virtual Machines and ESX Hosts do however show their CPU usage if you look at the "Virtualization" tab...but it would be nice
WMI Gettining Failed

Sorting IP addresses
When sorting by the IP address column, is it possible to sort by octet rather than by straight numbers? For instance, when I sort by IP address, they are listed in this sort of order: 10.1.11.32 10.1.11.6 10.10.11.1 10.114.11.1 10.5.11.1 10.81.11.1 I would like to see that sorted like this instead: 10.1.11.6 10.1.11.32 10.5.11.1 10.10.11.1 10.81.11.1 10.114.11.1
Clearing out old port info
When I'm looking at ports on a switch old info is still listed on some ports. Is there a way to clear out old info?
How can I use WMI?
I'm currently using the Win 7 Ultimate as the temp server to monitor. Remote Desktop access and SNMP works without any problem but cannot monitor with the WMI. Checked the DCOM (dcomcnfg) and activated the WMI at the services.msc. Also, Firewall is turned off. Cisco 2500 / 7200 routers
Dear All, Has any one trying to add Cisco 2500 router and cisco 7200 routers (Cisco IOS 11.0) to OP Mansger 8.0 , All other router work fine and add without any problem but I can't add Cisco 2500 / 7200 event it has the same setting of others routers, Any Ideas? BR, Ahmad Mansour
Op Manager emails alerts issues
I notice that op manager emails alerts sent are in 12 hours clock (AM/PM) , how can I change this to 24 hour clock.
DB backup

Windows Updates Attention
Hi All We are running Opmanager build 8812. I Would like the opmanager to create an Attention/alart event, when a windows server (Windows 2008 R2) is having updates pending install, so the resposible administrator for that server can shedule and install the updates pending... NCM and Netflow plugin cause OpManager crashed
Hi all, Our Opmanager suffer a problem after NCM and Netflow plugin installed. 1. After the 2 plugin installed according the install instruction, the Opmanager cannot login that popup message"Oops looks like a few tables got corrupted. Don't worry.. Run RepairDB.bat from bin directory and restart the server" 2. We reboot the Opmanager server and run RepairDB.bat. After batch file running finished, the Opmanager still cannot login same as above. 3. We uninstalled the 2 plugin and reboot the server
OpsMan 9 - Virtualization Question- Changing Catagories
So've Ive upgraded to v9 and have a question about the new Virtualization part. I have 33 HyperV server and when I go to change their catagory from Server to VirtualDevice I get a popup: " The Device Catagory Cannot be changed to Virtual Device, if not discovered as a VirtualDevice"... Since I have 33 hosts I want to move into this new catagory I need away to do it other then deleting and then redoing them if possible... Anyone found the trick? I'd hate to have to set these all up again. Would

Monitor DNS lookups
Is there a way OpManager can alert if a DNS lookup fails? For example, if nslookup/dig cant resolve a host, an email alert would be sent off. Thanks.
Event ID 624 monitoring
We are monitoring event 642 on our DCs for disable accounts for audit reasons and it works very well. However, when we try to fire off an event on ID 624 for account creation, we never see alarm or an email stating the condition was met. The event log rule is only set to look for the event id but have tried a combination of options in the rule to try and get it to work.
How to compress the file at the Workflows?
I'm evaluating the new OpM 9 and tried the Workflows. Since it has the function to file check and Delete/Move/Copy/Compress option. Delete/Move/Copy works without any problem. But when I try the compress, it does not work. I don't see the compressed file. Where it gets stored? Or is this malfunction?
Opmanager 9 enterprise for windows
Hi we just recieved a licence renewal from you guys, we had version 8 and upgraded to 9 with our licence before upgrading to version 9. In summary when we installed verion 9 with new license normal standalone 64 bitversion, we could not add more that 500 devices on opmanager for monitoring. we were advised to opt for enterprise version. I downlaoded both probe and central on enterprise version 9 64 bit for windows and installed it on my server but I am unable to get the most recent lisence on Probe
Alarm - clear delete
Hi, im new to Opmanager. The test system is up and runnig with snmp, syslog, NTlogs, escalations and so on. But I am not shure about the alarm clear and delete buttons. Whats the difference? I didn' find it in the manuals. If I clear one Alarm, this type of alarm will never show up again? Can I reactivate this type of alarm? It seems i pressed the clear button for many alarms during initial configuration ... Thanks in advance Thorsten
OpManager does not start after a reboot..
Whenever I reboot my server (for patches or maintenance) OpManager and NetFlow Plugin never start up automatcially. I've had this issue and submitted numerous tickets on it but it never gets 100% fixed.. The service just keeps crashing and keeps repeatedly trying to start.. What I have to do is go into services and stop the service (stop it from trying to start over and over).. I then go into taskmgr and kill: jqs.exe, jucheck.exe, jusched.exe, and mysqld-nt.exe. I then go back to services and start
There is some wrong with the URL?
There are some questions on OpManager 9000(build 8812)+NFA plug-in 9000: 1、 The problem of URL. When opening the interfaces on OPM, we click some application, and then it will turn into the NFA-plugin, but it is shown no data. 2、The customer want to have a report that includes device additional info and interface additional info in one report. RIELLO UPS - NETMAN 102 & 202
Hi I am trying to find out if anyone has successfully created monitors for the UPS combination (RIELLO rack mount UPS with NETMAN 102 and NETMAN 202 SNMP/Network cards installed? Further to this does anybody have working MIB files for the above combination? I am trying to setup monitoring for my UPS devices and would love some help with everything from creating the NEW device, to creating new monitors to setting the appropriate thresholds etc. there is not any templates for this product. Monitoring 64-bit Counters with SNMP
I am using OpManager 8 to monitor the spare disk space on an Isilon cluster. The number of free blocks is represented as a 64-bit counter. I can read the counter in MIB Browser by setting the version of SNMP to v2c. I have tried to add a monitor to OpManager to monitor this counter but the monitor returns zero. I assume this is because OpManager is using SNMP v1 queries. How can I force OpManager to use SNMP v2c queries with this device? Can I do this within a Device Template?

OpManager – issuing recursive alarms on 4 ISDN links on 2 routers.
Hi – I just inherited an installation of OpManager. There are 109 routers being monitored, and 2 of them are issuing recursive alarms on two of their ISDN interfaces. The alarms are: Interface 'BRI0/1/0-Physical-BR0/1/0' is down. These alarms occur regularly all day, every day about every 3-10 minutes. But, When I drill down into the interface display using OpManager, the interfaces show 100% availability. The routers have identical configurations: Router 1 interfaces: BRI0/0/0-BR0/0/0

Availability Reporting
Does OpManager monitor just the network links or does it use all the thresholds for services / processes when calculating availability? If a monitored service is down then my manufacturing operation is down and that is a “hit” against my system availability.
OpManager - ServiceDesk Plus Integration not working
I am trying to integrate the OpManager to ServiceDesk Plus. Both are running fine on there own but when I go to Add-In setup and run a test, it does not connect. I have double/tripled checked settings and they are correct. I am running Op V 9000 and SDP 8015. I'm not sure if this is creating an issue since I can't find anywhere which tells me which versions are compatible.
Why does the CPU always show at 100%?
I have one of my Citrix server running Windows Server 2003 R2 w/ SP2, it has 2 Quad Core processors, and when monitoring CPU Utilization it is always recording all 8 cores at 100% but the server barely reaches 10%. I am using WMI montioring, and it works one all the other 30 servers I have but this one it continues to report 100%. All the other montiors for the server are accurate, any suggestions?

No WMI credentials are working for terminal server
Hello, I are in the process of setting up additional monitoring with OpManager 8 (build 8812) and have run across an issue with getting any WMI credentials to work with a Windows 2003 Terminal server. This server is on our domain, and with the exception of the Terminal Services software running on it is the same as every other Windows server we have in our environment. Importing devices via CSV does NOT work
Hello, I tried bulk importing devices via CSV and while it successfully discovered the correct IPs of devices, and said successful, the devices did not import. If I manually import them IP it does work. I am not even close to my licensed device limit. Thanks -Marty-
Monitor credential access
I set the credentional settings cli and Snmp for monitoring multiple Serer. Everything works. But if suddenly one of the servers is no longer authenticate the user on ssh or not answer snmp reqest, the values of performance counters are 0. But server is aviable becouse ping is OK. How to set up so that if credentional access no longer work, I issued an alert about this?

Cannot open OpManager from windows 7 machine
Our IT director is running a Lenovo laptop with windows 7 professional 32-bit OS and Internet Explorer 8. Whenever she tries to access the opmanager web interface she receives an error stating that the browser needs to be higher than internet explorer 6, but she is running version 8. Has anyone come across a problem like this? If so, how did it get resolved? Thank you.
