Configurations fully deploy but status is incorrect
I have been deploying configurations to multiple computers and single computers. Sometimes the Status will show "Executed", sometimes it shows "In Progress", and sometimes it will show "Ready to Execute", and sometimes it won't deploy at all to some computers even though the agent is live and healthy. Working with DC version 90023 as well as Agent 9.0.23W. I thought I read somewhere that the upgrade to this version was supposed to resolve this issue, but I am still experiencing it.
No Targets Available
I just setup my Desktop Central and have it working fine. I'm in the process of using the patch manager and for some reason on 1 Windows 7 machine, when I deploy patches, I get a "No targets available" message on the config screen. Anyone have any ideas? Same setup as all my other machines and same make/model laptop as several others that are working fine.
Unable to Create Package from Template
Hi, I want to create a package for Adobe Flash Player ActiveX, but after clicking on 'Create Package', it seems to be 'In Progress' for a long period of time. Does it usually take very long to create a package?
Announcement Text does not display
Desktop Central Build No. 90023 The announcement pushed to remote and local locations displayed the Annoucement Title correctly but with a blank message. There is no formatting in the text of the message. Upon <clicking & dragging> within the textbox, The text appeared in inverse and displayed correctly after 'un'-highlighting the text. Also, upon a remote login, as the screen refreshed itself, the text displayed. This occurred for both Windows 7 and Windows XP machines. All have java 7 update 55.
Default domain at login DC9
Version 90023 I have AD integrated my staff/users, now how do I set the authentication to defaul to my domain name at the login screen to my domain? I've seen references that if I only have users from my domain (as in, all users in Admin - Users are "Authentication type" set to my domain) then the default will be that domain, but that means I would need to remove the admin user - is this safe to do and/or will that work? Agent Installation Failed
Hi, I downloaded an DC Agent for my PC, but it is not being reflected in the Admin>Customers>Remote Offices tab. Are there any further steps I should take to finish the Agent installation? As of now, I have downloaded the Agent by pressing the green arrow, and run the file inside it.

Add OWNER column to all grid views
I work with many telecommuters whose machines often do not reside on the network. Therefore, 'Logged in User' is often blank, and doesn't show me who owns that Laptop. To give me better access to that info, I populate the owner information for each managed PC. However, the Owner column is not availible in all areas of DesktopCentral. For instance, Owner is not a available column under Inventory and Configurations.

Having to reinstall agent to allow connection to client PC
Hi, I would like to ask if anybody has had issues connecting to machines that the agent has been installed however maybe the IP address has changed and then when you go to connect it says agent unavailable? The only way I can resolve this is to remove the agent and install again through SOM. Once it has been installed I can then connect to the client PC. However I have noticed in the settings that the box is checked to update IP changes so I don't understand why this needs to be done, is there

Inventory Scan not working after patch
Hi, Previously I use Desktop Central build 80358. My inventory scan works but my patch scan works. So now i patch it to build 90002 and now my patch scan works but inventory scan doesnt. I've been trying to contact Desktop Central support through email but it really disappoint me. Case number i've logged is 14407294, 14406685, 14405588 and no one replied yet.
Error occurred while downloading the required files.
We get this error when deploying packages after updating the desktop central server. Its create the folder on the client machine but not putting the file inside of it. We are using a share on another server for the repository. Have anyone get this problem before? I also talked with the support yesterday and he started a remote session to me and then he told me to send some files to him and he should have send a hotfix to me and i haven't seen any email from him.

Hi, I have a few computers where I get this error, when trying to patch. OfficeUpdateError: No product installed for contained patch. Which is weird error, as if this is the case, then why does the scan see the patch as missing if there is no product for it.

Would like a query report that would list the public ip of each DC agent event when a particular machine connected to DC. Does this IP address of the machine exist with each inventory scan?
Enabled to access the USB drive
I have create the USB configuration one computer to block the USB access, except mouse. Here I have selected domain to effect the configuration. Patch folder
What will happen if I delete the entire contents of the \webapps\DesktopCentral\store folder? This folder currently contains all the downloaded patches and installs. It looks as if many of the patches are no longer required - BUT if I delete ALL the files will DesktopCentral re-populate the ones I still need? Or do I need to ONLY delete the ones that are no longer required? (This will take much more time as I would have to run a report of the outstanding patches.) Many thanks, Tony

I could not believe it: I did not found the new Adobe Reader update 11.0.07 under "Missing patches" Then I found the Adobe Reader update 11.0.07 in the view "Applicable patches" where I see that more than 100 computers should already have this new patch (column 'Installed Systems'). Patch Management - Duplicate OU names and defining a target
Hello, I am trying to define our "Laptops" OU as a target but it's not working. We have a few Child OU's with the same name but under different Parent OU's. When selecting the OU, it only shows the OU Name and not the Distinguished Name. Do I need unique OU Names for the "Define a Target" to work.

custom groups multiple criteria
I want to have a dynamic custom group that separates out my Win 7 32 bit and my win 7 64 bit. I want to deploy software based upon those attributes. When i create the custom group i choose Operating system as Windows 7 and then add a second criteria as x86 for system type. Then i save it. The issue is that after i save it it reverts from an AND statement to an OR statement so it pulls in my 32 bit servers. HOw can i stop this? Thanks.
DC9 upgrade- safe to upgrade or still issues outstanding
hi I am running the latest version of DC8 and have been advised to upgrade to DC9 as some patches cannot be rolled out with version DC8 anymore before i do this are there any gotchas? I don't have a test environment and have been burned before (i usually disable DC agents on most critical servers and computers before doing any upgrade to avoid client problems) Many thanks

user can't interact with install package
Hi It seems since we upgrade to build 80215 that some of our install packages which require user interaction do not work. There are no prompts appearing on the screen. This used to work. If we go in and manually change the properties of the DC agent service and put a checkmark beside "allow service to interact with desktop" then it works. is this a known issue with this build? is there a fix? (btw this is on Windows XP that it doesn't work)
Agent Status shows the wrong Server (Internet Connected remote Agents)
Is there any way Remote/Internet ME DC Agents could show in their Systray Status the Server Name as it was encoded in the Remote Agent MSI? Instead it shows the internal/LAN name of the ME DC Server which is meaningless and not the hostname they are connecting to. Remote Control
We are using Remote Control in Desktop Central on 75 computers in 4 locations. It is working properly on all but 2 computers. For those two computers, when we try to connect using Active X, it connects shows the blue connection screen and they immediately shows "Exit Meeting" . When connecting using Java, it connects and shows the java screen and then shows "Java Viewer, Waiting for presenter to join." Upgraded to DC 9 MSP - major problems
I just upgraded to DC 9 MSP. Now after I login, I can get any customers' pages or computer info to load. It's maxing out my rented VPS server's CPU (java.exe 99%) and locks it there. the page just sits and tries to load. I have to stop DC and restart it to stop the CPU usage. (NOTE this is a rented Virtual Private Server Running server 2008 R2. Running a single core 4.0Ghz, 1gb ram and 30GB hdd. Delete Admin User - Desktop Central (90022)
Hi Guys, We're trying to delete the Admin account. We've created two addition admin username (firstname.surname) and assigned than administrator rights. We then login as one of these users. When we attempt to delete the Admin user the software confirm it's been deleted (i.e. local\admin deleted message), however the Admin user remains in the list of users. We've tried removing the administrator rights to the admin user and trying to delete again, but this does not help. We have a two user licence

Hi All, I'm new to Desktop Central (DC) so apologies if this turns out to be an error on my part. It seems the severity rating for Microsoft security updates classified by DC as unrated will at times differ from Microsoft's severity rating. Is anyone else getting this message on some clients when installing patches? "The specified service does not exist as an installed service" I tried re installing the agent to no avail.
MAC Addresses
I have many computers that have multiple network adapters, which means there are multiple MAC addresses. Desktop Central is picking the wrong MAC address from my clients. Since it's doing this, Wake on LAN doesn't work until I manually enter the correct MAC address. Is there a way to support multiple MAC addresses? If so, can wake on LAN send packets to all MAC addresses to wake the computer up? Thanks TOm
