Hi, Would be a good idea and nice feature if it was possible to add and create custom groups, based on a search.or even criteria like last connect time, ect. As an example I need to deploy a configuration now, but only for a group of people. There is no easy way to do that.Its a pain to create custom groups as it is now and adding and removing as well.
Detecting specific Office products?
Hello. I am trying to create a custom group of users with either Word, Powerpoint, Excel, or Outlook (2007) in Desktop Central. However, if any of these packages were installed with Office, i.e. not separately, they appear in the control panel and in Desktop Central as "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007", instead of individual program names. Is there any way to sort these users into a custom group without targeting the entire Office 2007 suite? It is critical that only these four programs add
Desktop Central Software Deployment False Positives
This issue is rather perplexing. I opened a ticket with support but it is not going anywhere yet. So here is what happened. I made a custom Software deployment package for Server based Webroot. Hello. I am trying to create two packages in the Self Service Portal that will automatically upgrade users with Office 2007 or 2010 to Office 2016. I have accomplished this by creating two .bat scripts, one that uninstalls 2007 and one that uninstalls 2010. Both scripts then install 2016. We seem to be having issues with Desktop Central stopping quite regularly, we've spoken to the support a number of times on this and we seem to get the same response each time of kill of any postgres,exe processes and restart. Hi, We Have IT Setup of 150 Desktop,Laptop & Server. All Desktop & Server are Connected to AD, while All Laptop are in Workgroup. Placing an icon on user desktop when it's read only
Were looking at making none administrators desktop read-only but we want to be able to deploy icons to users desktops and not all users. I've tried doing this as a user configuration but it fails with access denied. Is there a way of deploying an icon to a users desktop when that desktop is read-only to that user? Remote Site Caching options
Hello, I am looking at Manage Engine for Patch Management and also Image deployment for a Microsoft environment. This is made up from one central site and 40+ smaller sites covering approx. 1000 assets in total. I have seen that SCCM has the option for peer cache that means that it is possible that an onsite PC can be used to cache the updates or images at the remote site. This removes the need to have a server onsite. Is there similar option for Manage Engine, or what are the suggested options
MS15-118: newly detect as missing but not!
Hi we use remote desktop to manage patches. Today 22 Dec 2016 I found for my servers following patch Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 on Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 (KB3098785) as missing while still yesterday all scan not showed it. SoM Policy - List synced from AD icorrect
I'm currently running into an issue where the list of computers showing under SoM Policy is displaying computers that have been removed from AD for awhile. When I go to SoM Policy->AD Sync Settings I do have the following settings: I will note that originally this was not enabled. However, after enabling it and doing both "Sync All" and "Sync Only Modified" neither is purging the computers no longer in AD. Suggestion for Feature - Ability for Offline Patch Deployments with Notification and User options.
I'm proposing to have locally cached deployment option. We have users that take their laptops home every day and even for weekend. Having ability to cache patches for installation on their machine while they are not building and give them option to when to apply them. Here is a quick scenario how that would work. User is scheduled to get patches on Monday Morning between 12am a - 10am. They take laptop home on friday and don't come back into office until 9am which only leaves 1 hour of deployment
Desktop Central Agent Query
When installing the Desktop Central agent on some of our Citrix machines, we are seeing that the agent is sat in the system tray and when scanning a window will pop up. This isn't behaviour we have seen on other machines, is there a configuration option we can apply to the agent to prevent this? Agent version is 9.2.045.W

Clean up mangeengine files on central server
On our central server the drive desktop central is installed on is only about 40 gb. We have very little on this drive besides desktop central. For the last few updates I have been struggling to cleanup space as it required me to have at least 5.88 gb free. After updating to the latest build I have 5.67 free. I have cleared all files in the patchbackup folder and cleaned up everything I could according to https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/removing-unwanted-files-from-dc-how-to.html.

SQL for Missing/Installed/Declined patches
I need to know the SQL statement needed to generate a Missing/Installed/Declined patch status for an individual computer (all computers is fine, I can easily adjust the WHERE clause once I know the proper table joins). I can filter the Vulnerable System Report to show this, but I need to include some calculated fields and there is a good chance I'll be joining this to data stored in ServiceDeskPlus.

Dear Support if you guys not offering any support on phone please stop publishing it and remove from IVR . I try to call so many times No one ever pick up the phone always go on message and left around 20 plus message in last 3 weeks not a single call back . I am serious issue with product as we relay on this production later on find out it show the wrong reporting incorrect patch level from the OS sometime even the wrong OS .
