Firebox and Adobe reader updates
Hi, I manage the Desktop central with few clients.I am able to install windows related patches perfectly on the client computers.But the option for Firebox and Adobe reader drop down not comes down under the Patch Magm tab.SO i am not able updates adobe and Mozilla firebox applications to latest one. Could u please give any sugession regards this error. Regards moorthi

hello we have recovered a webnms database from several days ago. There were a number of provisioningtemplates scheduled which have not been executed. Is there a way of updating the date or time of the scheduled templates so they are executed immediately or rescheduled without having to cancel and reprovision? Thanks
Desktop Central - Dual Monitors
Hi, we have a problem where we cannot view a second monitor on our machines with dual monitors. There appears to be no extra little button to switch between monitors at the top of the remote sesssion window, DC just recognises the primary monitor. This is the case whether we are connecting to a laptop with a monitor in dual display mode, or if we are connecting to a desktop pc with two connected monitors. Automate Patch deployment
I have set up a scheduled "Automate Patch Deployment" job on a few desktops to download and deploy missing patches. It just downloaded and finished but nothing was installed. I tried the same job but only for my desktop and this is what I got in e-mail and no patches were installed again. Please help! What am I missing? Software Deployement
When You create a configuration with applications added to it. If after installation you remove one of the installed apps, will they get redeployed? If not is there an option to have the agent check if he misses an application and if so redeploy it? Thank you
When can we expect a Unified agent - Auto select distribution servers?
Are there any plans to build a smart unified agent that will aromatically select the closest distribution server? as the current distribution frameworks is really useless unless you only support desktop computers? EPO does this currently and it works fantastic, you only need to install one agent and it selects where to get its updates from depending on what subnet you are on / Ping times.. etc.... I would assume that the majority of companies using Desktop Central have a large laptop workforce
Remote control firewall
I am receiving an error that "firewall is enabled" when trying to remote control into some of our computers. When I turn off Windows Firewall, it works. Inventory scanning and configurations work fine. What ports/files need to be opened on the client side? Also- what agent is best for managing laptops in a VPN environment. We are not going to connect to them unless they have a inside address.
Pre-install script does not work
Trying to install MS Office 2010, using a pre-install sript to determine if it is already installed. Using script from MS which is for group policy deployment. It returns an %errorlevel% = 0 if it is installed and =1 if not. I set the pre-install script settings to continue install when a 1 is returned. This does not work, the install starts either way. I have modified the script to reverse the %errorlevel% returns as 0 is not installed and 1 is installed, and modified the settings for pre-install
Out of Disk Space
We have around 4000 computers that are managed. Hardware requirements are listed as 20GB for this number of managed computers. We are over 150GB of used storage and are out of space on our Desktop Central Server. How can we reduce space? All non-essential system files have been removed and 'old files' have been compressed using cleanmgr.exe.
Undo a configuration setting
I successfully used DC to deploy a configuration to a specific user to restrict changes to the desktop wallpaper. Unfortunately I did that before I changed the wallpaper. How to I re-enable the privilege for this user so I can reset the wallpaper? No problem in Admin, just in the restricted account.
Failed Agent Install
Logon Failure: The target account name is incorrect thats the error i get when trying to install the agent. What direction should i go in, i didnt see any KB showing a solution. Thanks ~Tyler

Summar on device after scheduled scan is not showing
Hi Team We are having some problem in a client sytem - CIMB AVIVA. When we try to do a scheduled scan by 1 AM at night, the device is scanned but the summary is not shown (even after we select to show the summary) and the Asset is not in shown in successfully scanned assets as well. configuration in disabling USB and ROM
hi i'm usign desktop central in Windows 7 profesional, the problem is i cannot connect or install an agent using windows 7. and also i configured in desktop central to disabled the optical disk drives whiich the cd or dvd ROM and the USB its almost 3 days before i configured but the status is " In Progress" we have 2 hundred plus of computer units, what should i do is it ok to wait or what? until when should i wait for this configuration to be excuted?

Cannot connect to laptops through remote control
Hello! We have purchased new laptops for our library, which we installed the Desktop Central agent on. When we try to access any of the laptops through the Remote Control option on the server it gives us "Firewall is Enabled" error. The firewall is turned off on the laptop, so this doesn't make any sense. Also, we know the problem is not the server because we can remote control any of our other desktop machines. We need better support for 3rd party patches (non-Microsoft)
The Microsoft patching and associated bulletin information is pretty good but the same cannot be said for 3rd party application patches for Adobe and Mozilla. None of the bulletin ID links point to the URL on the vendor's site that describes the patch details. Clicking a bulletin link for Flash, for example, takes you to the Microsoft KB and an "article not found" page. Moreover, the names of the Adobe patches don't seem to jive with the latest vulnerability notes. Take the 08/19/2010 release

Question about deploy patch
When I deploy a patch from microsoft .. ?? I do the deploy of which I've been down before, or if they are not necessarily downloaded are downloaded and deploy does??. It would interest me first. 1 I think a group of test patches and do not give me problems two days will apply to the rest, but only these patches. If you do not want to leave new patches are applied. When will the Uninstall software from Inventory Tab be added in to Desktop Central I saw someone else ask this questions over 2 years ago and the response was it is on the road map. Distribution Server determined by subnet
We have seperated all our branch sites onto different subnets. It would be great if we didn't have to manage the distribution point for each computer and could instruct the Agent to use a distribution point based on a subnet. Is this at all possible?

I have two powertools that I use consistently when I work on desktops: MalwareBytes and CCleaner. Has anyone been able to script these into Desktop Central to download to the desktop, install, run and clean specifically?
Desktop Central patchlist & MS Update dont match
I am trialing this software and I have observed that MS reports that there are updates available, but desktop central doesn't seem to see them; specifically Malicous software removal tool, windows defender updates and outlook junk email filter. I am new to the software, and I have read many of the KBs and FAQs, but couldn't seem to find a mention of this exact issue. Symantec Endpoint Silent Removal
I am trying to uninstall Endpoint silently for the network on multiple computers. Now in my distrib folder where all the apps are located we dont have the uninstaller.exe/msi package for endpoint. So I thought I would try to push the setup.exe and windows would recognize that endpoint is already installed and give the option to uninstall. No Luck. How would I go about this? Thanks
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly
Just installed the latest hotfix and when I went to restart the Desktop Central, it would go through the motions and then stop. First, let me apologize in advance for this post as i am sure its a duplicate. the search feature on this site is not currently working. Someone.... Explain to me the difference between these two products. i tried both, and it seems like the MSP one has less features. Restart a service
Hi Guys, I am looking to restart a service, in the computer configuration there seems to be only stop and start a service. When I choose a new configuration and pick stop a service, then add the same service to start the service, it gives an error "Given service 'CrmAgnSvc' already present !" Server Distribution
I am currently evaluating "Desktop Central 7" for a bank with remote offices. I really like the idea of having Server Distribution since it will be faster for local installs. I created 1 Server Distribution at one of the remote offices and had 1 PC get an update from it. I am trying to figure out where the PC got the software from, either the local server or the one at our main office. I have looked through most of the logs and don't really see anything that jumps out and says it was installed
Distribution servers
I have successfully migrated my Desktop Central server to a new machine using the instructions here. However, I am also using Distribution Servers. How do I configure each of the DS for the new server? Also, does it matter in which order I reconfigure the agents for the new server IP on the WAN and the DS? That is, would I reconfigure the DS before the I reconfigure the WAN agents, or would I reconfigure the WAN agents before I reconfigure the DS? Thank you!
