Reduce Firewall Ports to TCP 443
Do you plan to reduce the needed ports? We have some Enterprise customers which have large networks and it is very difficult to get firewall exceptions for all these ports? It would be great to work only over HTTPS so there is no need to open new ports.

How to request certain software be patched?
Hello, is there a process I can go through to request that certain software receive patch support? There is actually one in specific and for patching on a Mac - Adobe Creative Cloud. Currently we are still having to manually connect with half a dozen users every few weeks or so to update all their creative cloud software. I know Adobe has something we can set up but it would be better to keep everything central. Thank you, Charles
A report on software similar to Computers by OS?
Is there a way to generate a graph/report for software similar to the Graph this is on the Home>Summary page Computers by OS? On this graph it is able to group all Win 7/Win 8/ Server etc into one graph and regardless of Patch level. Specifically I am trying to find a way to generate a specific report for the different versions of Microsoft Office. With the number of different patch versions/configurations I don't feel that I am getting an accurate report. If there was some way that DC could lump
dcagenttrayicon dissapears randomly from taskbar - Windows 10
dcagenttrayicon dissapers from the taskbar even when the service is still running. You can get it back by logging off or restarting but it it happens too often and I feel that it needs to be addressed. This is a problem on all Windows 10 machines and some Windows 7 machines. Is there a quick work-around to for a non-admin to get their icon back? Thank you!
Advice with using Desktopcentral for Patch Management
Hi, We recently had an external audit of the machines on our network for security vulnerabilities and they found that there was a couple of updates missing on our machines, MS KB3125869 & MS KB3116180 which are covered under the MS15-124: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer update. When we ran the patch scan on Desktopcentral and it didn't pick up this vulnerability. Can anyone suggest the best way we can use Desktopcentral to ensure that these types of vulnerabilities aren't missed
Cant get system management (processes) on remote office PC's
I can click "manage" on PC's in the LAN (relative to the DC-server) and the local PCs will show processes, but when I connect to a remote PC it says unavailable every time. "Your System Manager session has been disconnected because the agent is not reachable" 1/ Am I missing a setting for managing this remote PC? 2/ Where can I see the Ping distance (as measured in ms) for diagnostic purposes I can remote-access the remote PC using the HTML5 viewer... What's happening with iTunes patch support?
It would appear that you guys have not released a patch for iTunes since October 2015. I have just spoken to one of your support techs, today, who said it is a known issue because Apple changed the download link from HTTP to HTTPS. I pointed out that a similar download issue with Java, just a couple of months ago, was fixed within days. However, the iTunes issue hasn't been fixed for six months, so far. Can we please get some better commitment from the DC team, on a fix date, for this please?
Clients are not automaticly selected (as target) in the configuration (Patch management) after upgrade to V 92063
Hi, I have a small problem after the upgrade from version 92041 to 92063 (DesktopCentral). When I select a patch in the patch Management and click "install" the "Install/Uninstall Windows Patch" window appears. In the old version all names of the selected clients appear in the section "Define Target". But after the upgrade this field is empty. Delay in new Mac patches?
Is there a reason why a couple of Mac 3rd party patches are missing? Mozilla Firefox 44.0.2 is missing, so is MS Office 2016 15.19.1 updates.
Uninstalling Office 2010 with Desktop Central
We have an issue upgrading from Office 2013 to Office 2016 through office365 when there is remnants of office2010 left on the a windows 7 PC. We have tried multiple ways of pushing the fixit program to a PC and then creating a bat file to execute on the PC and we have had no success. Has anyone else out there been successful at this and would like to share what they did to make this work?
Desktop Central Client not reporting new OS
I downgraded a laptop from Windows 10 pro to Windows 7 Pro. Desktop Central does not show the change. Rescanned the system several times but always ends in failure. Any ideas how to get this fixed?
Problem with installing agent with .bat file and self-service
build: 92071 after installing agent with .bat file I have a particular issue where self service wont work. here are my screenshots. The group is reading my windows 7 machine as VISTA? that would be incorrect. BUT... It is CORRECT in inventory... Still doesn't explain why self-service is not displaying any of my packages I believe I have found a bug..
How do you specify that a server in a distribution server?
I have Desktop Central Server installed at two locations. I've told my primary server that a remote office exists and that I want to utilize a distribution server. It says DS is enabled for the remote office, but that DS Status is "Not Yet Installed". Do I have to tell the server I want to be a distribution server that it needs to act as a distribution server or something? Is there a separate package I need to install that I'm not aware of? GroupWise 2014 MSI install with Transform File
I am attempting to create a software package for GroupWise 2014. I setup a MST file using the GWTuner utility and then created a package. I pointed to the MSI file (groupwise.msi) and then used the option for the MST file that I created created (groupwise.mst which is in the same folder). I am testing deploying the software to my laptop. Using the default options I sent the install to my laptop and the deployment comes up successful. No matter what it says, the program is not installed on my laptop

Set a duration for Automated Patch Deployment
I would like the ability to set an duration for the Automated Patch Deployment tasks. Many of our computers are laptops and customers will be gone off our network for 3 or 4 days before returning. I have recently installed DC 9 v 92071 on a test machine (WIndows 7) in a domain with the local Windows firewall turn on. Using a domain group policy, inbound rules for ports 8020, 8022, 8027, 8031, 8032, 8081, 8082, 8383, 8443 and 8444 have been opened. However, ever time I login to DC on the Home tab this warning appears: Port 8020 and 8383 are Blocked Port 8020 and 8383 are blocked by Windows Firewall in the Desktop Central Server. Alert when PC down
Hey folks, I have searched in the UI and on the forums, but i cannot find a definitive answer to the question: Can I configure Desktop Central to inform me when 1. A PC with the agent on it is shutting down? 2. the server with the DC software installed is shutting down? I would ideally love to see notification on my phone through an Android app, but I didn't see a Desktop Central specific app; an SMS would be my second choice. Maybe this doesn't exists? ran into a recent problem with downloading patch associated with KB890830-X64-V5.34.exe (Patch ID: 20328). this is causing patch configuration jobs on windows 2012R2 servers to fail because it can't download that patch. this means i have to go back and remove that patch from the list of patches until i run into the next patch that has this problem. can you clarify what i can do to resolve this issue permanently?

Variable that tracks user access by date or time?
I am wondering if there is a variable that can be called anywhere in desktop central that displays the last time a users machine connected directly with central. I want to create a notice when a user has not connected in 30+ days to receive updates, but I do not know if there is a variable or a log that can tell me that.
Configure e-mail alerts in inventory
I have previously configured email inventory alerts in desktop central, the email alerts are still coming through, however if I now go into admin>Configure e-mail alerts in inventory the form is blank, I am trying to stop sending the alerts to a couple of email addresses, is there any way to reset these alerts from the back end?

In Desktop Central, when I go to Inventory, Computers and then click a computer, at the top there is a spot for 'Primary Owner'. It is blank on all of my computers. Where do I set that or where does it pull from? Eric
I can deploy Internet Explorer 11 to computers that have IE8 or IE9 installed, but am receiving Unknown Error Code 40024 if the computer has IE10 installed. Any ideas?
I've used the templates for installing the prerequisite updates as well as the templates for deploying IE11, but it just isn't working. I've also tried removing the /passive switch from the template so it's just using /quiet /norestart and still no luck. Thanks, William

Bug in "software metering"
The "File Name" field doesn't accept special characters, even if they are valid file names. For example, VMWare View Client's file name is "vmware-view.exe", but DC says that is invalid.
