Installation v7
Hi We recently purchased our license for OpManager Premium, which was of course v6, however due to a delay on the server arriving late v7 is now available and uses Device not use licensing (a real negative from our perspective) However, the real question is can i just install v7 using my v6 license or do I have to install v6, and wait for the upgrade pack? MySQL problem, can't launch OpManager 7
I've downloaded, for evaluation purpose, OpManager 7, from this page I've installed it, and when I want to launch it, it begins to initialize then close itself. OpManager 6: Juniper IVE MIB Problems
Here's the message I get when trying to use the MIB: Error parsing MIB:JUNIPER-IVE-MIB.txt Exception while loading MIB:Could not parse the file C:/Program Files/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/./mibs/JUNIPER-IVE-MIB.txt The error occured at the line no: 224 ,column: 5. For the table and row OBJECT-TYPE construct the ACCESS value should be 'not-accessible'. Unable to activate a threshold
I'm walking through the How-To on "Disk Space Utilization Monitor for SNMP Devices" and every goes fine until I try to set the threshold level at the end. I click the edit symbol and get the options to enter my values. I hit save and it returns me to the Snapshot as requested. The page says that the graph was updated successfully, but the old values still show up in the list of Monitors. "60 minutes, "Not Enabled". I can't seem to get a threshold enabled though I seem to be getting the right responses.
GA Release Feedback - Few Problems
We've deployed OpManager 7 in our production environment with a degree of success, but not without considerable time and effort to complete. Here is what we ran into: 1. Interface is indeed much improved, although at times inconsistent. It'd make more sense moving Active Directory as additonal tabs rather than another whole block under the device details. 2. Dis I/O Stats For AIX
Hello, I want to monitor the Disk I/O for my AIX servers with some additional parametrs to be monitored. Presently the monitors available on Appmanager checks for Transfers/sec, reads/sec and writes/sec only. I wanted to check also for percentage of time the physical disk was active (%tm_act). OpManager Automatic Monitoring Update Status Question
This is the 1st time we tried AdventNet OpManager Server Monitoring software. We have made the free edition to work, Though it does not automatically do the update status of the servers. We still have to click the link in the web page for an update status to be done. We have the snmp working because we see a star on the server list webpage. When we manually click the Update Status link, it can detect the server's failure and automatically send us a notification through email. And, the timeout refresh

No Support for Custom WMI
In OPManager 7 Custom WMI monitors don't work. Reqested info for this at Sales, Support and Forum without reply. The conclusion is it is not supported in OPManager 7, consequently OPManager 7 cannot be used by our company.

I want to add a custom WMI monitor in OPManager 7 and it does not seem to work when I configure it as in release 6. How are they configured in release 7.
Monitoring Using Dell PowerEdge MIBs
We have several Dell PowerEdge servers (mainly 2850's) and would like to monitor them using the MIBs available from Dell. I've loaded the Dell MIBs for PowerEdge v.5.2, A00 using the MIB Browser but a simple test of un-plugging one of the redundant power supplies did not generate an alarm. Hi There i download a trial version of opmanager, tried to scan a range which had windows, redhat, scovm, debaian, sun ,..... the range was something like this 172.16.0.2 - 172.16.3.254 this range had some routers and switches and it was in different subnets there was no map generated with interlinking of these, it just diaplayed 172.16.0.0 , 172.16.1.0, 172.16.2.0, 172.16.3.0 how do i get a map with all interlinkings, also it did not find the unix flavours, also for the found unix flavours it did

Dear Support Team, i just installed a copy of OpManager ver.6 in one of our ibm server and i noticed, it did not give me a list of servers or routers and some manageable switches after a couple of hours that i installed it. for how long does the opmanager will give us information? aside from enabling the SNMP in all windows machine, what else i need to do? i believed in one our router i did not enable the snmp on it, can you teach me how to enable it? also, kindly tell me what else i should do to

Updated Beta install
When I attempt to install the new beta, currently running build 7000, it wants to uninstall build 7000 wiping out that data and setups. How do I go about getting the new version installed. Also, does the new build include Exchange support? One of the issues I have is that on Domain controllers, the domain authentication works for getting the AD information but fails on the WMI services. If I remove the domain from the auth credentials, the WMI works but the AD fails. Thanks Kirk
MSSQL Application Monitor (WMI)
Hi, We have recently installed OpManager v6015 and the MSSQL Application monitor that we are using to manage MSSQL using WMI. I added the MSSQL WMI App Monitor to the first server and everything worked fine. I could see all of the statistics for that database as expected. I then added it to a second a third server but the server snapshots show no application monitors as being installed for servers 2 & 3. However, I am seeing the database names from servers 2 & 3 showing up in Server 1, but no statistics
Adding custom monitos to Graphinfo.xml
In out business we have a new UPS Management card, but it is not possible to monitor via Opmanager. We also have the Powerware Cards, and I have edited the ups_monitors.xml and graphinfo.xml for those, and made a new device type, and they work. I also did this for the new HP UPS management card. But now I am trying to add a graph to Graphinfo.xml, but with no satisfying result. If I add the new monitors before the powerware monitors, they aren't displayed in the list of vendor specific monitors.

E-Mail Notifications No Longer Work after Service Pack 1

I add the devices, but when i go back to check they are not in the view or in the devices list to add. deleting admin account
Hi I've just bought a 1 user licence for OPUtils. I want to delete the admin account and create and account that only I know the username and password. How do I do this? I can't see anywhere to delete the admin account and until I do I cant create another account as I only have 1 user licence. With the ability of OpUtils to be able to upload a config to a device its too much of a security risk to have the default username and password on the login page. Any help would be appreciated
Exchange 2003 Monitoring error
I tried to monitor my brand new exchange 2003 server but i've some values which don't return values. The monitor don't respond to OPmanager 's test. I have WMI and SNMP enabled on my server with no firewall. Can somebody help me or have an idea to get those values? Thanks for answering.[/img]
Resource monitors on Windows 2003 server
I'm trying to setup the resource monitors in OpManager 7 beta for a windows 2003 server. I have enabled SNMP under windows and adjusted the settings as per the OpManager User Guide. I have added the SNMP resource monitors for HDD, CPU, and memory to the device in OpManager and entered the correct community string. OpManager seems unable to retrieve the information it needs to show these monitors. I tried copying the Object ID from OpManager and pasted it directly into the MIB Browser. I get a message

opmanager doesnt seem to capture the cpu utilization for my routers. i have done the troubleshoot and everything is fine. opmanager managed to capture the memory utilization but not the cpu utilization. any solutions?

MSP Customer Ticket Access
I'm currently evaluating OpManager MSP and would like to give customers access to the ticket section so they can log there own requests. The problem is that non of the accounts can get access via the main login page, only users created as support reps have access. Is there a different URL to use to get direct access to the ticket section? thanks
Detect Netgear switches
Hello, We have netgear and cisco switches. IF I make a manual scan, adding some ip devices, I have seen that the cisco devices are detected with all the details related to the model. The netgear switches instead are identified as unknown. The snmp is required in both switches. Is it possible to increase the number of devices in the archive of the Opmanager? Im' using the 6 version Mulitple Probes. Let me know. THanks

Save data when changing type of monitor
Sometimes we have to change a monitor (e.g. CPU utilization) from CLI to SNMP. After this change all data for this monitor are lost. Is there a way to save the data, change monitor type and the restore the data? Regards, Volker
