FeaturReq: Frequency & Period thresholds for trap proces
Two things that would add huge value for me in Opmanager are:
1.) Text based; string matching for SNMP trap processors.
i.e.
Some products issue traps for various conditions using only the EOID, without varbinds, making it impossible to distinguish between different events. i.e. Checkpoint.
2.) Also, a frequency and period capability to SNMP trap processors would be invaluable.
i.e.
- Threshold creation: Create the alarm if (x) occurences of the trap occur within the specified age timeout period
- Threshold escalation: If a further (x) occurences of this trap occur before the age timeout, upgrade the Severity to 'Critical'
- Age timeout: If no further occurences (of this trap from the same source) occur for x minutes (age-timeout period) then creation and escalation counters reset.
Is anything like this currently on the roadmap?
