How do I change a request's onHold status to open? And how do I change a closed status to open? I feel like I'm missing something here. Thanks, Amy

Maybe I can't use my eyes but I don't find a delete-button or similar to delete an obsolet solution! there's only an edit-button and the options to manage the topics, but no delete?! can somebody point me to this?
Server Access for 7 Technicians
I am currently testing the Service Desk v.5 product and need to know the best way to set it up on our server. I set it up on the default port of 8080 on one of the servers, and we may have up to 7 technicians in our group. But Windows Server O/S only allows 2 people to login remotely to the server. My situation... I have a product: Desktop HP dc7600 I have a Vendor: Xcompany Then: PO->Xcompany->Receive "HP dc7600" (qty=10) ok. Now I have 10 Assets "HP dc7600". Including this desktops into Domain. So, I have 10 workstations "HP dc7600" and 10 assets "HP dc7600". What's the point? What's the Inventory? Even if I'll assign asset "desktop HP dc7600" to workstation "HP dc7600", what's next? What is my Inventory: workstations or assets? If it's Assets then I need to add all my workstations as Assets
Migrating from current HD Ticket System
We are currently running a simple help desk ticket and asset management system. It is web-based and uses an access back-end. The database is ~160Mb and I'd like to preserve the data. Is there a tool that can help with potentially migrating from our current Access based system? Exception while trying to send notification for Request ID : 12602 Mail sending failed. I RECEIVE NO ERROR MESSAGE, IT STATES NOTIFICATION SENT SUCCESSFULLY WHEN SENDING, JUST THE RECIPIENTS DO NOT RECEIVE. ALSO THE SENDING TIME IS 20 SCONDS TILL I RECEIVE THE SUCCESSFUL NOTIFICATION. PRIOR TO UPGRADE 2-3 SECS MAX?

Business Rule bug
When I setup a business rule with more than 1 contains entry and save it only 1 of the criteria is saved. Example: Title contains Production Outage or Title contains Production Problem assign to NOC Queue What gets saved is only the Production Outage rule.

on hold jobs
chaps just done 2 service pack upgrades to get to 5001 with out any installation issues - thanks :-) but now im up to 5001 all the onhold jobs are not showing in the open requests view. My technicians need to see onhold/open on one screen and not have to keep going to all requests to find onhold requests with all the closed requests. It used to work great in SD4+ As a suggestion would it be possible to have an option on the setup of different status to have show in open requests or similar???? Ive

Hi, I have imported the users from the Active Directory. Then I opened a Requester and converted it to Technicians. But the problem arises when I tried to revert that. That means, what if i want to convert a Technician to a Requester again? I did not find any solution to it. Do i have to delete the Technician and create the Requester again or wht? Purchase Order - Approval + Approved

It only opened another window where i have to specify the email address of the person whose approval we need. Hello, Thank you for releasing the new upgrade path... I have installed it and we are up and running. However, Why isn't completed date in the Custom Reports? Can we add it? This should be in there! Survey after Upgrade
After we upgraded, when the system sends out a survey, it doesn't make the survey link a hyperlink in the e-mail. We use Outlook 2003. This worked before the upgrade. Any suggestions?
Windows NT scanning Problems
HI! I Am very pleased with the new version 5! But there is one thing I cant get right. When I scan for an Windows NT workstation, I almost always get these errors: FAILURE : One of the WMI components is not registered properly. Please report the problem to the system administrator, with the Error Code - 1.133.504.222.281. or: FAILURE : General failure while performing the operation but in some workstations, there is no problem with scanning. its the same language on the workstations and same servicepacks
Restoring gives an error in the restore.log
Version : 5.0.0 Build Number : 5000 As part of testing, the database was backed-up using the following batch file cd c:\AdventNet\ME\ServiceDesk\bin call sd_service.bat -p call backupdata.bat call sd_service.bat -t Some changes were made to a request in Service desk. I stopped the service using sd_service.bat -p then the database was restored. (restoreData.bat) The restore appears to have worked as the recent changes were not there and there are no obvious problems. However there is a .....data_restore.log

Error importing active directroy
I've just installed the new Service Pack for Active Directory, but I'm still having problems, The error message that I get is: No response received from workstation. When i tried to start the server again the java applet did not load. After checking to see if the service had started it had not. So i tried to start the applet to find it would not start. Is it possible to have pass the user and password via post or get? We have the link to our kbase and help desk on our intranet and don't want the user to have to login in again.
My Request on hold
You have My Open Request My Overdue Request and so on But how about my Onhold request, the only way to show request onhold is to choose (all request), how to fix this?
Filtering OnHold Requests
Hi, first of all good job on this new version 5! One point though.... We are now struggling with the OnHold Requests since there is no option to filter by them. In the previous version these were at least shown in the Open Request (basically they are open requests....) Could this at least have the same behaviour as before???? Update Problem
HI, I'm currently Using version 4.1.0 but If i go to Advennet Update Manager I can see SP12 is Installed, maybe he's not installed correctly, I tried to uninstall it without success, and if i try to reinstall SP12 he sais the SP12 is already Installed. perhaps I cannot upgrade to version 5. Is there any way that managers (as requesters) can view the reports? I have copied the links to the various reports that they would need to see, but on navigating to the location, it asks you for a username and password.
Successful Upgrade from 4112 to 5100... but
Firstly, many thanks for the release of the upgrade: I have applied to my Test server but; The MySql migration log throws some really scary messages around unique constraint violations and not null columns containing nulls but appears successful ?!? Has anyone else encountered the same issue? Other (non-imps) Issues Also, can we lose (or at least make optional) the mandatory "Quick Create" section on the Requestor Home Page? Huge Issue After Upgrade
OK I just got upgraded to Version 5 with some help from support. Everything so far looks good except for the Solutions. All of my solutions lost their formatting. They were all nicely formatted so they could be easily read and followed. Now they all look like one giant paragraph with no formatting. Is there anything that can be done to fix this and have them revert to their old formatting. I would really hate to have to go back in and re-do all of my solutions. I have alot.

Not happy with Upgrade
Hi, I don't know if there's a problem. I've followed the instructions, un-zipped the files to the SD folder, run updatemanager.bat and then started the Server. The splash screen is just sitting there with the blue progress bar (est. about 75 to 80%) and a line of dots that are moving from the right to the left. What is it doing and why is taking so long to start? What do I do with it - leave it, kill the process and try again??? Regards, David.
