Request to Close call or resolve call themselves
Is there a way that the REQUESTER can Close or Resolve the call - if they have found a way to fix the problem themselves? IE - I log a REQUEST call - and later on find that i can fix it myself, But i don't have the Close or RESOLVE button . I have to wait for the Technician to close or resolve it for me. Is there a way i can allow this?
Approval report

I'm very sorry for my english. I try to move SD to differens server. How I did it.: To restore the back up data 1. Go to <ServiceDesk>\bin directory. 2. Execute the file restoreData.bat at command prompt as shown below: restoreData.bat <backup file name> The back up file name has to be the .data file from which you wish to restore the data. false interface down alarms
Hello, I have a problem in my Opmanager 7200 build. I have 50 devices in my Opmanager but i made a SNMP trap if an interface is going down. But never maid a option to get almost every second a message with the following error (see attachment). This is driving me mad because i get every day around the 4000 errors. Hi Is it possible to customise servicedesk so that when a user emails a request, the requesters details gets created automatically using the "username" part of the email only?
Business Rules and Request Templates
Is tehre functionality planned that will allow the assigning of a request template to a request as part of the business rules section. So in the 'Perform these Actions' section you could select 'Assign Template' and pick a created template. This would assign all the fields from a template as well as creating the tasks associated. Not sure why I've not asked before to be honest seems such a logical thing to have that I don't appear to be able to find at present. Thanks, Andy

Hello. I want to change the original administrator password, but theres is no link or function to do this. I have changed the login name and I can login with my AD credentials. But I - and anyone else - kan still login with the original administrator password. How can I change this? (new to ServiceDesk - using the demoversion for 2 days now, if this is the problem?)

Purchase Order issues
We recently upgraded to Version 7.0.0 Build 7022. Prior to that, it was build 7021. With both builds, I've been having issues in creating Purchase Orders. When I try to add a new product in the Software category, it keeps telling me the following: Failure: Unable to add product details It doesn't tell me why not of course....has anyone else had this issue?
Incorrect Request Displayed
After update from 7.22 to 7.5, when some users open a request it displays the wrong request but with the right url. Please help

7.5 Windows Domain Scan
Container Object Duplication. Check the attached image. Has anyone seen this issue when their Windows Domain is enumerated? I have three test setups right now and it does this to some extent on all of them - mySQL database or MSSQL. The same groups are always duplicated but by a seemingly random factor. When I tell it to refetch, it seems to fix the problem, but there is a Users and Computers at the top and then a Computers and Users at the bottom of the list. Pos. SD+ 7.5 issue: Groups, Departments & Site allocatio
This relates to Groups, Sites & Departments. My understandsting of the new process is various Departments can be under a particular Site but the SD+ Groups are permission specific catagories for assigning Technician. Why then when allocating Groups to a Technician are Groups listed individually per site? Surely this bears no relevence? Or am I understanding this incorrectly?
RollBack procedure

SD+ 7.5 - Reports showing 'ACME' in the top right-hand corne
Since upgrading to version 7.5 we are getting the word 'ACME' appearing at the top right-hand side of each report. How do we get rid of this because it is very unprofessional? Thank you.
Service Desk Backup
We have service desk plus version 6.0.0 in which there are two scheduled backups running on daily basis one is trimmed backup and other is full backup. does trimmed backup means backup for a particular day? the problem is the service desk folder is taking approximately 26 GB space in machine which makes it slow,and even some times not responding. Can we delete some files generating by SD on regular basis as access log or any log sort of to handle the space prob.the other problem is it takes too long
Links in Reports
Hi, After the installation of Service Desk, we had to change the name of the Server. Everthing works fine except links in reports. All links in reports still addressing to old server name. Do you have any idea where those reports get the server name of links and how can I set it? Also I have to say that this issue occurs on Local users (specifically Administrator). Thanks.
Reports on 7.5
We had 3 scheduled reports setup to run monthly - Requests by Status Requests by Priority New Requests by Department Each report was setup to email a PDF graph using the previous month as the time period. In 7.5, these reports fail with the attached error.
Adding worklog to multible requests?
Hi Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated. I would like to edit multiple requests - adding a workload on say, 30 minutes on each. How to accomplish this? Connection to RPC server in the workstation failed.
Our servers are in Win2000/2003 & Linux environmental.Network scanning has been done by us but we received an error "Connection to RPC server in the workstation failed." before the scanning port no:135,445&DCOM configuration settings(Given in trouble shooting guide) opened by us even still we are receiving same error please provide proper assistance to get the servers through network scan. problem with enter by name
i have problem with enter to service desk site by name. Tne name like - support.company_name.com associate with service desk site. And then i enter to site, this seem as text design. But in the same time i can enter by IP. In attachmen i put screenshots.
$TaskLink is wrong
When a task is assigned to a technician, the $TaskLink holds and extra http:// in the front so that clicking on the link doesnt work. The link is displayed right, but the hyperlink in the background has an extra http: upfront. How can I get rid of it? ERROR message: No response received from workstation???
Hello support team, While the SDP is scanning the workstations, almost all workstations have this error message: '' No response received from workstation. Probably the workstation might be switched off or does not exist. '' I searched the related topics including this error message in the forum page but there is no solution except the general solution. smooth migration from 7022 to 7.5 ?
Has anyone actually managed this ? If so I would like to know, as this forum is full of threads relating to the upgrade not working, or basically people having to 'mess about' during the process and involve SDP support to get the upgrade done. Pos. SD+ 7.5 issue: Edit Req. Site resets Group allocation
Yet another possible issue with 7.5 when editing an request that has not been assigned to a Site but HAS been assigned a Group. Would appreciate confirming this is a bug and not something we're doing wrong. Simply, assigning a Site removes the Group assignment althoguh strangely doesn't remove the Technician. Surely the Group has nothing to do with the Site with Departments the only dependency?
After upgrade to 7.5 I can only log in as my AD user
Since upgrading our test Servicedesk box to 7.5 I can only log in using the AD passthru. This means that when I go to the Servicedesk URL I am logged in automatically as my AD domain user (the one I am logged in to my PC with), but if I log out and try to log in as any other account (local or AD) I get an 'Invalid username or password' message. Can you reproduce this issue please? Thank you.
restore MS-SQL 2005 database to MYSQL
I am using SD+ 7015 on a Windows 2003 server with MS-SQL 2005. I took a backup of SD+ with backupdata.bat (successful) When restoring this backup on another server on which I installed SD+ with MYSQL (for some testing and I don't want to use MS-SQL) I get a message stating I should change the value of max_allowed_packet. This is a personal decision, but women age faster than men, and most men date girls 1, maybe 2 years younger than them while in college. A common approach seems to be, step 1: graduate. Step 2: marry college sweet heart. Step 3: 20 years later, divorce for a younger, more virile spouse model. Shouldn't you just mess around for 20 more years and then find your wife? Unable to upgrade from 7022 to 7500

Re-send request for approval
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had approver lose the approval e-mail. Not an issue, accept when you have more than one approver ServiceDesk basis the Approved/Not Approved status on the last block of approvals, so if you send a new approval request to one of them you've got to send it to all of them. Therefore what I'm wondering is is there a way to re-send the original approval e-mails rather than generating new ones? I'm running 7009.

Is there any way of sorting requests by more than one column, as in by date and priority, or dept and user name, as in more than one option etc. Thanks

When scrolling through the calender selection on editing a request, the June month view is a different size from the rest of the months. I'm not sure if this affect other areas where there is calender selection. Hey call me a perfectionist :roll:
SD+ 7.5 - Custom priorities cannot be edited
Since upgrading to SD+ 7.5 we cannot edit the names of our customer priorities. The standard 'Low', 'Normal' and 'High' priories edit fine but not the ones we created. When the edit button is clicked nothing happens. Can this be confirmed as a bug please?
Unable to update technician within IE7
