Connection to RPC server in the workstation failed.

Our servers are in Win2000/2003 & Linux environmental.Network scanning has been done by us but we received an error "Connection to RPC server in the workstation failed." before the scanning port no:135,445&DCOM configuration settings(Given in trouble shooting guide) opened by us even still we are receiving same error please provide proper assistance to get the servers through network scan.
