WMI Setup issue.
Hi, I am new to Opmanager and am trying to set up WMI monitors one of my 2003 test servers. I have verified that WMI and RPC are running on the server and client machine. When I run the cpu.vbs script from the command line I receive the message Microsoft VBScript runtime error: ActiveX component can't create object. Any ideas? :cry:

I am having a problem getting all the netflow data showing up, I am only getting some of the data. I am not sure what I am missing, but when I transfer a large file, approx 1 gb I only capture about 100 mb of it. Any help on this would be great. Thanks Here is some info hope this helps. Can't add domain controllers as servers
Hi, Now that the trial of the DC monitoring module for OpManager has run out, I would like to simply monitor my Domain Controllers as regular servers, however, everytime I add the device and add my domain credentials to the password field, OpManager re-detects it as a DC and I cannot monitor it any longer. How do I turn this detection of Domain Controllers off?

Hi I am evaluating ServiceDesk Plus at the moment and was wondering whether or not it will be possible to enable Windows Domain Scanning and Active Directory using LDAP and/or Kerberos? The product seems to have been developed to run on a Windows Server (which supports all current functionality), rather than Linux (which is slightly more limited). Helpdesk replies automatically cc'd to others
Job sent to helpdesk@ is put into our helpdesk. We open the request and we click reply to send the sender a message. If the job was sent to helpdesk@ as well as other email addresses, for example, wayne@ then the reply will automatically be cc'd to wayne@ as well as the original requester. Is there any way to strip out the contents of the cc field so only the requester gets the reply without having to remember to check each time we send a message? Cheers

We are looking into the trial version of FA but wanted to know if the reports are in realtime even though we use PIXs. I read that if they are not WELF format they will not be realtime...is this true? If they are not in realtime what kind of delay do we typically see?

URL Monitor - Alarm message truncated
Hi, I've encountered this problem when sending sms alert to users notifying the URL availability. I'm using the alarm variable, $message, in my custom Run Program. My URL monitor has a content match too. (eg: "message1 message2" )When I receive the alarm message using the alarm variable, it gets cut off. (eg: The string "message1. But the actual alarm message looks like The string ""message1 message2"" did not appear in the URL...) If there's any fix, please share with me.

Trap sending problem
Hello. I have a question regarding Unsolicited traps, which i get from routers in my network. There are quite many of them and i don't want to write Trap Processor for everyone of them. Is it possible to configure OpManager to send ALL traps from devices to email, whether they are recognized or not. I just want to get EVERY trap which is sent by devices in network on my email. backup/Restore Failure
It does not appear that Backup is successfully backing up after upgrading to version 5003. The backup states it completes, however, only takes 8 seconds. this use to take several minutes. I am trying to install on a different server, however, the restore also states it completes, however, the new server is still in fresh install mode (no data). I believe the problem is with the backup not correctly running. Again it states it backup's successfully, however, it is actually doing an entire backup.

hello there, after updating from 5.6 to 6.0 i face, that in OpManager Client is only the OpManager MapMaker View with assigned/grouped Business views. All other helpful views and things to configure and last not least the Inventory view is gone ! Is that a bug or a feature ? what can i do to restore/recover the client capacities ? regards, Peter

I've browsed 2 dozen pages on the OpManager forum for answers but no luck. 3 issues/questions: 1 Alarms) The audio alarm works fine on the server where OpManager is installed. Unfortunately our servers are locked in a back room where we can not hear the alarms. Websphere monitoring using App Manager
HI, I have been trying to setup a websphere monitor to see what all it can monitor, and apparently the only thing that it has been monitoring for a while now is the JVM usage for the past 1 hour and the Server response time. All the other sections such as CPU utilization, transaction details, Session details of webapplications, EJB details, JDBC connection pool details, etc.. are not ahowing up. Our company is using Service Desk plus for our IT Helpdesk but we would like to look at using it for other departments as well such as property maintenance. Monitoring cisco 2940
Hi. I'm trying to monitor my 2940s, but am not getting the right values back. I added the Cisco2940 as a new device type, which seemed to work well. It now autodiscovers the 2940s as 2940s, rather than as desktops. However, when trying to monitor their memory/cpu resources using the default monitor. It seems to default to the host-resources mib and tries to get values for the wrong OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.5.1.1.2 whereas it should be something like (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1*100)/(.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1+.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.6.1)

linux -> linux snmp monitoring doesn't return information
Dear All, App Manager host: SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (i586) Monitored server: SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (i586) I try to set up a Server monitor using snmp, but although there are no errors issued AND that ethereal shows me error-free snmp traffic between the two servers, the monitor stays empty and its health stays grey. I don't know if it is related, but since a few days, App Manager Web GUI became awfully slow. There are 20 monitors configured.
Generating Reports
Well I got the ManageEngine up and running (a few issues) - I have alerts going to our operations. All in all things look good. Now the boss Lady that forked out the dollars for the Enterprise license whats reports (Managers are kind of funny that way ) On some of the reports generation I get "Data Collection is not started for any monitor instances of this type. Hence Reports cannot be generated." For instance I am monitoring forty WebSphere instances and they are in a WebSphereProd Monitor group.
Report on Time Spent by Technician
I have tried creating a request with multiple time entries to test reporting on time spent by technician. When I go to create the report their aren't any time entries. Does the request have to be closed for the time to register? Has anyone else had any similar experiences with this?
