help desk and custom reports
Hi, Im still having problems with reports 1.-need more categories on the help desk reports, I have eleven different categories and the reports only shows 6 and one labeled has others where all my other 5 categories get all mixed up and theres is no way on the custom reports to gene- rate a bar graphic or pay graphic 2.-the custom reports doesn't help much (see number 1) HELP HELP HELP!!!!
Number of interfaces using bridged-flow-statistics?
I have a 6509 that has 240 ethernet interfaces on it for my servers. I understand that if I want server-to-server traffic within the same subnet I need to turn on bridged-flow-statistic on the SUP module. If I do that how many interfaces show up in NFA? One per VLAN? One per port? Any info will help I am asking because I want to know which license I need to buy.
Leave Mail on Server - Service Desk Plus
Does anybody know a way to leave mail on the pop3 server when using the mail fetching service in Service Desk Plus ? we need our existing helpdesk email account to be checked as it has been in use for over 10 years and we are reluctant to change it for all our users. would love to know how to do this :>) regards - glen
Search displays solutions that do not contain searched term
A requestor brought to my attention that a search for the words "color" and "font" in our Solutions retrieves entries that do not actually contain these words. Is there a problem with the search feature?
Define application mapping by IP address? (Feature request)
I assume this isn't possible right now, so this'll be a feature request. In my network, I know that all traffic between two given IPs is VTC (Video Teleconference) traffic. Is there any way to define this as an application instead of it showing up as UDP_App? I think I've narrowed down that it uses a certain range of ports, but they're not set and could overlap with others. So I have a quick fix that'll probably work on our network, but as an overall feature, it seems like this would be useful. Thanks.
unable to connect to servers-can connect to local computer
I have installed the software without issue. I am assuming that a current installation of mysql (with default settings) will not interfere with the installation of EventLog Analyzer 4. If so, how can I create and use the mysql instance already installed on my server. I have attempted to add hosts by IP address, by Name without success. The *only* host I am able to add successfully is the local computer on which the software is installed. I have looked through the posts and tried all the various troubleshooting
HelpDesk Reports
Strange things are happening when i try and run a report from the HelpDesk, I enter a date for the report eg Last week and it comes up with usually 6/7 random days? I also select custom period (last week 13th - 17th) and it still does the same see attched image. This happened last thursday, the 5004 update and a restart of the server running Service Desk has not solved the issue

When ever i edit a P.O i either get a error message or the total calculates incorrectly, loosing faith in the service desk software :cry:
Defragmentation
Hi All, Just wondering, We are having problems with Opmanager where the drive requires a routine defragmentation of the drive containing the database. Is there a good defrag program that Opmanager users can recommend that can keep the drive in good working order, without the need to stop all services to run Windows own defrag. ? The main issue is that the Hard disk is getting "Hammered" and thus prevents the database from being updated and causes slow performance when browsing from a remote pc. On

Combine flows from load balanced interfaces?
I have a main layer 3 switch that has two routes out to two separate routers that it load balances between. Those two routers then connect to a main router and then out to the world. Is there a way to see combined graphs for traffic in and out of the interfaces that are load balanced between? I've created some IP groups for known IP addresses that balance between the two connections, so I can see summaries for those regardless of what interface it's using. But I'd like to see all of the summaries

Monitoring processes HP-UX
Dear reader, I've set the monitoring for a HP-UX box and I'm trying to monitor certain processes. This is no problem except that the applications monitor is probably using the "ps -ef" command to check which processes are running. As a result of this some process names are the same but in fact they aren't. ps -ef doesn't show the complete process path. Is it possible to use the "ps -ex" command? Regards, Bas

custom reports
Is there a way so that if one of the technicians create a custom report that it is avalable to all other technicians I have 5 technicians and two mangers and I have created the custom reports under my ID and they are not showing up under theirs. This is a problem if I take leave and nonone else can see the reports, and a bit of a hassle if I have to go aournd to 10 people and create the reports again and again. just so they can print them out if needed

OPMANAGER and SQL
I am using a version 6.0 of OPMANAGER (I hape a version 5.5 that has been upgraded to 6.0) and would like to know how to change from MySQL to MSSQL. I have a MSSQL 2000. Any tips would be very welcome as my database using MySQL is not working properly. It seems that my indexes are getting a litle bit lost after the database reaches the size of 2GB. Hi, I just confused of how the OpManager monitor the switch. our switch (3com Superstack) has only 24 ports/interface on it but in OpManager, it shows 30 + ports/interface. why it happen and how to solve it? Please help!

I Cannot Monitor JBOSS Server. I can connect to it via the below URLS and it works fine. When I create the new monitor in app manager it creates fine without error but then says that its unavailable when i view the monitor details. Please help I am very frustrated. Hi All, I love the product, however, I can't seem to find the function I am looking for. I need to be able to "Check Out" assets to employees. I also need to "Check In" assets when they are returned. Example: A salesman is sent to a conference. They need to borrow a laptop for the trip. I check out the laptop (specify date out, expected due back date) asset. The conference is over. The salesman returns. I am handed the laptop back and then "check in" the asset in ServiceDesk. Am I being thick? Isn't

Problem with New Request
Dear Everyone, Having this problem with this feature adding New Request. This is one of the problems I'm facing. When I create a new request, is it possible to populate the fields (See attachment) when i enter say ie: Asset Tag? (I have created a new field called Asset Tag) My aim is to enter a Asset Tag and information (those in red boxes) on the Asset will pop out in the New Request form. Will this monitor my traffic correctly?
I'm attaching a rough diagram of what my network looks like. If I'm monitoring "ingress" traffic where each of the arrow heads are at, will that catch all of the traffic on my network? At this point, I'm not concerned with traffic within the clouds and the Layer 3 switch at the bottom (the square) doesn't support Netflow. The most that I can see missing is traffic originating in the top router and destined for the world and traffic originating in the bottom two routers and destined for the LAN. The

Is there a way to mass assign a threshold to all filesystems in a monitor group? The only way I can see to do this is one at a time. With 15-20 filesystems per server this could take weeks! :) Save my sanity :) Caerie
Monitoring A Socket Listener
Hi, Brand new user. I'm managing several Tomcat, WAS and MySQL servers perfectly fine. I want to take the next step and monitor a couple of processes that we have listening on various ports. For example, there's a Java process listening to port 3500 on server1. I want to have a custom monitor that will open that port, send a formatted message and expect a specific response back.
