User Levels at Device Expert
Hi When I evaluating device manage, I come a cross that it only have two user levels, administrator and user. Administrator has full privileged but user only can see reports on modifications of configurations. I have just installed Netflow Analyzer 5002 and I want to delete all the applications defined in it and start with a new smaller subset of just the ones that we use. It will be much quicker to start from nothing. Is there a quick way of doing this without going through the web page deleting one at a time?

alert.filters
I have made some new alerts-and they are running fine-modifying my DataManagement.xml to not compile stats so frequently...i also ran accross alerts.filters -which only has the original 'Play Sound" alert in it -does this file not get updated untill a proper shutdown/restart? -i could have sworn i've restarted opmanager since then-however not 'smooth' shutdowns of the service-just box reboots....yet my alerts still work so is the alert data stored elseware now?

Server HP-UX does not appear to be scheduler as Report
Hi, Im evaluating Applications Manager and I created a Monitor Server HP-UX, this server also contain an Oracle DB. The App Manager created both monitors the server and the Oracle DB. But in Admin --> Scheduler Reports, only appears the Oracle DB Monitor to be scheduler, the server does not appear. Any Idea ? I'm using telnet (port 23) to monitor the server. Thanks in Advance. Interface Name in Netflow
I would like that Netflow shows interface name instead of ifindex1 ifindex2 etc. Not sure what makes this, some routers gives correct name. I do yous Netflow 5.5 with a Cisco 2821 12.4(9)T and subinterface with VLAN like gigibit 0/0.20 Does this has anything to do with "snmp-server ifindex persist"?
Notification
Hi I have set up OpManager and set up to notify me when there a system down. I checked my Mail server settings and both of mail address works well when I have it run it as a test. When a system is down I am not getting any email at all or any notification. I am seeing on the OPmanager that it has an alarm but no email. I recreated all the setting twice still same.

incongruity in Conversation reports
Hi all, Let say we are on Int f0, Conversations Tab, IN, last hour report, if I group by Source IP, I see for example: 172.16.1.204 Any Any Any Any 72.12 MB So, in this scenario, I choose now "last day report", instead of "last hour report", I get this: 172.16.1.204 Any Any Any Any 31.65 MB My question is, Is it possible that "last hour report" is bigger than "last day report"? Checkpoint LEA not getting the action field
Hi I've successfully setup a LEA connection with my Checkpoint management station, enabled tracknig and reporting is working. Though I'm not getting any data in "Security Reports" and 'VPN Reports'. After checking out the retrieved log in <fwa_dir>/Firewall/server/default/archive/<ip> I can't see the action of each log entry. This is probably why I can't see "Top Denied Hosts' etc. So my question, how do I get the action (drop, accept, etc.) into the logs? And will this also solve my empty 'VPN Reports'?
App Manager ignores SNMP Traps with comm other than "pu
Hello all, I need to have Applications Manager acknowledge and process SNMP traps that have a sommunity other than "public". So far it ignores all traps with a different community string. I can't seem to find anything in the UI to do this, and I've tried changing it in working/conf/DefaultSettings.conf, working/conf/clientparameters.conf, and working/conf/SnmpDefaultProperties.xml, but these have no effect. OpManager 6010 BAD performance
After installing the new build of OpManager, 6010, my PC has been encountering major CPU and Memory utilization issues. In the Task Manager, I see two instances of Apache.exe and multiple instances of cscript.exe that causes the CPU to shoot up to 100% utililization and the high memory usage. SupportCenter Won't Load - Database Corruption??
We are unable to get SupportCenter to load. SupportCenter starts to load, but after a couple minutes the loading screen disappears and support center is not running. We have rebooted the server numerous times, but SupportCenter still won't load. Disable browser launch at startup
Is there anyway to prevent the system from launching a web browser window to the ServiceDesk login page when you start ServiceDesk? Since it's being started as a system process, I don't want the "system" account launching any web browsers.

Jump to Resolutions before closing a job
I am keen to keep the resolutions up to date and I want to force my Techs to use it but it is too easy for them just to close the job, rather than filling in the details of the job. OPManager won't load, stuck at
I used OPManager for about 1 week. Now it doesn't start anymore, i'm stuck at 'Configuration completed...' in the startup screen. MySQL access changed since service pack?
Did the service pack for OpManager reset MYSQL access from outside sources? Since the upgrade I cannot access the OpManagerDB from a outside source.
Report Scheduling
Hi Support I want to configure Report profile such that at every evening (say 5 pm ) I should get the report for the previous 8 hrs. I tried configuring hourly report and scheduled this report to run at 4:30 pm howver I get report only for 1 hour and even in that sometimes I just get a mail without attachment. and the mails says that there is error in report generation. How can I achive this. I am using build 4012. Regards
Bandwidth monitor not working
Helllo All, We have a Dell switch (3324 to be exact) and we want to try the bandwidth monitoring. We got connected no problem and selected a few interfaces. All went well but after 20 minutes or so, nothing. OpUtils can "see" it just fine (it sees all the interfaces, port speeds etc) but nothing for inbound/outbound traffic. We know SNMP is working on the swtich as several other tools are accessing the switch via SNMP and can record the traffic without any issue. Thanks, Frank

Hi, We are currently evaluating several firewall log analyzers/reporting products and so far in a google search of "firewall log analyzer" sawmill and manageengine tops the list. Not to mention loglogic, splunk, phpsyslog-ng, etc. etc. Anyone here who have experienced using those products? So far, I am particularly biased to manageengine... My boss really wants me to dig into sawmill further.. I just want to convince him a little more. How does manageengine compares to sawmill? Other log analyzer
Notificaion Emails - Send upon new ticket
I was wondering if it was possible to do this. When a user creates a new ticket, for an email to be sent to X@Y.Z However, when lets say I create a ticket and assign it to myself only I get an email. Basically, when a ticket is created and is unassigned, notify X@Y.Z otherwise, dont. I want to be notified when there is a new ticket, but not when a co-worker creates one .

I have a jboss server enabled with https how can i monitor that with AppManager, usually i give the port 80, should i give it as 443 and also make any changes in xml file, to change the port from 80 to 443, actually there is a redirection for that, when the URL is entered its redirected to port 443 instead 80, please advice on this. regards venki

Hey there I have a couple of questions relating to the alerts in Application Manager 7. how can I set an alert based on page load times? i am receiving alerts based on response times for a url but this doesn't always seem to be a very reliable way of determining page load times. I am monitoring a url, what does "error if response code is > xxxx" do? I have not been receiving alerts based on this value. Thanks in advance, Andrew
