Changes in US Daylight saving time - Impacts and Workarounds
Hi, Daylight Savings Time changes in 2007 will affect Java applications in the United States. This leads to improper reporting of applications, which handles time related data. Updated Java Runtime Environments contain updated rules to report appropriate time with respect to the time zone. Existing US customers who are running OpUtils build number 4019 or lesser are requested to patch the JRE. Please follow the instructions below to patch the JRE. Steps to Update 1. Monitor Limit
Hi, I am trying out Applications Manager, and I am impressed so far. It took so little time to install and get a monitor up and running. But I am having a problem with the 5 Monitor limit whilst evaluating the free license. I have set up 3 Monitors to monitor applications running on 2 different servers .... but Applications Manager tells me that I now have 5 monitors already! "Your license supports only 5 monitors. You are trying to add more number of monitors than the allowed number of monitors."
remove 'dont show login details again'
chaps just getting ready to roll out the new version 6 and while testing i notice on the login page the 'dont show login details again' option is there but i cant remove the details. Nothing happens when i click the link. This is now stalling my roll out as i cant have these details showing. Any advice would be great :-) In the mean time ill try another install and see if that makes any difference Ojo
Merged Requests
Hi, I made a custom report in Crystal Reports to view all the tickets that are created by our department or which tickets still are open. When I run the report I see a few more requests than I see in ServiceDesk. After doing some research on this issue I saw the difference. In my report I also see the tickets that are merged with another ticket. The merged tickets are shown as individual tickets. When I do a search on one of these tickets I can't find them in ServiceDesk because these tickets are
mail fetching problem
Hi After the upgrade to v6 i get the following error when starting mail fetching. Web Access Non-functional after upgrade to SD+ 6

Please Help: Problem with power and netflow
Dear Sir, i have currently installed an evaluation version of Netflow at a customers site. After the installation it worked fine.. But my query is that my customer has switched off the power to the router temporarilly and when he switched it back on.. No graphs are displayed... it says the netflow packets are 0 and packets are being exported from the router but its not displayed in the web console.. All the commands that i have typed into the router are still present. Please help me to rectify this

Import of Squid logs
I am testing FWA and it looks really good so far. I am testing importing squid logs from a remote host and that is working fine also. Is is possible to have the import process delete the logs from the remote host as it imports them. Right now it does not do that and if I select an interval I believe that the same logs may be imported over and over again. Or once I select an interval will it only import new logs? - Chris
Probe HTTP Proxy Username/Password
Hi, Got some customers with networks opened up to the internet using firewalls and http proxies. It should be possible to place a probe in these networks, but I saw that the http proxy configuration needs a username/password. Most of my customers do not use username/passwords with their http proxy. Can I use the proxy function without entering the username/password ? Please advise Sijbren

Can you provide some more information on how the Category/Sub-Category/Item feature is implemented in SD+ version 6.0? In SD+ version 5, sub-categories are really just like additional categories with indented names and bullets in front of them. They are not uniquely related to their parent category. In SD+ version 6.0 are the sub-categories uniquely related back to their parent category and the items uniquely related back to their parent sub-category? I have been searching the support forum on how to get a list of all scanned software from the inventory in a file. I have seen older postings that say that there is an inventory report of this list, but I do not have that option in our installation. We are currently running SD+ ver. 5.5. Unified Login to intranet using Adventnet SupportCentre
Currently we allow access to our helpdesk by giving customers login and passwords to supportcentre. However, I want to have a full set of web pages for our customers to access - but password controlled. Seeing as SupportCentre already has a way of authenticating customers, is there any way of using this authentication for the complete intranet site - eg have a web page that asks for the login and password, and then authenticates against supportcentre using a web service or similar??? Was release 6 EVER tested before releasing it to the public!? since my pages are all in https, i click on things and they say you are entering a non-secure / secure site!!! jesus christ, also the option to have everyone login to a certain domain is gone. they now have to choose local or the domain. i have to get rid of this.
Another problem with reports SD+ 6
Built-in reports work fine, Refine Search works too. But I can't edit reports or create new one. I get following errors on "Filter" page: - for requests reports Line: 471 Char: 30 Error: Expected ')' Code: 0 URL: http://localhost:8080/CustomReportHandler.do For another reports Line and Char slightly differ. Is this a bug?

Inventory Asset linking question
hi i am planning on keeping track of my various mobile devices using the asset section of SD+, i often swap simcards from one device to another so i thought about creating a hardware section for the actual device and then another asset entry for the simcard with phone number is there any way to link these 2 entries? this should not be hardcoded as devices often change but sim card numbers remain the same, the only way i can currently see is to make the actual device (mobile, blackberry) a workstation

By-pass the Logon Page
Is it possible to by-pass the logon page? Either by way of using the active directory authentication option or using a generic logon account for all users BUT the tech's and admin account? Our concern is that we do not want users to have to logon to place a service request. I understand there is the option to 'remember password' but even that is enough to make our users shy away from this tool (we are an agriculture company, ie. farmers and old people - so that may help you understand the mindset

I have the ServiceDesk+ v 5.5.0 B 5507 running on serverA, I want to migrate the system to serverB and at the same time I also want to upgrade to version 6 and also migrate the database to SQL server. Problem with out going emails
Hello Hello, I am having a problem wit outgoing emails and emai notifications. I am able to pick up emails but when I try send 1 I just get an " Sending notification failed. " error. Mail setting are all ok so cant figure out whats up. Support logs do not indicate anything. Help much appreciated...
Scheduled downtime (per interface)
We're currently monitoring a router (main) which has a serial link connected to another router (branch) via a leased line. However, the branch router is turned off after office hours and OpManager is detecting that the serial interface (where the branch router is connected) on the main router is down. Any workaround?
