ESX Virtual Machines
Hi All, I wanted to monitor a windows service of a Vmware Virtual Machine. I have completed this task for quick a few physical windows machines which all work fine. However, I don't seem to get any SNMP information from the system nor can it access the windows services on the virtualised server. I doesn't detect the OS or anything. I have install SNMP on the virtualised windows system. I'm not sure how this is supposed to work with opmanager. Can opmanager monitor the individual virtualised machines,
Can�t get "Pass-through" Authentication to work
We have enabled Active Directory Authentication this works fine, but we don�t get the "Pass-through" Authentication to work. We have ServiceDesk plus Enterprise edition 7.14 We run IE 6 and we have the servicedesk URL in the trusted sites.
Best practice for adding a software subscription?
Hey guys, I'm just trying to break the ice on the purchase order module. I haven't looked into exporting from SAP yet but I figured I'd start learning the ins and outs. My question is about software subscriptions. We recently just got 47 year long licenses for a program. How should I go about entering that in? Should I create a new type of product called "Subscriptions" or work it into the software somehow? I'm always looking for better ways to do things since I barely know what I'm doing in SDP.

Hi,We have an HA Active/Standby pair of Checkpoint Firewalls (version is NR R55) and a management server. Now I need to collect the logs of check point using an unauthenticated LEA connection. Whether I must restart the CP when I set up the LEA connection. If just restart the managment server,is it OK? Thanks
email reply problem with Problem Management
Now i create a new problem. And in the problem detail page,i send a email using the "Notify" button,and the eamil appearls in a list below. The problem is if reply the email,there will be a new Request created,so it is confusing...... Any suggestions.
SDPlus 7 Domain Scan Name Resolution
Have searched throught the forum to clarify the name resolution method in SDP for Domain scans. Does it just use DNS queries to resolve computers found in AD or the default Windows name resolution order?
ServiceDesk Schema Question
I was working with my DBA to try to generate some custom reports. We looked at the schema provided from within the application (i.e. from query editor/workstation/get). Not all of the tables looked like they were listed. For example, when I run a custom report for Workstation and query "service tag", the query editor says that the table and field are workstation.SERVICETAG. There is no servicetag field listed in the schema provided from within the ServiceDesk application however and I can not even

Wesphere monitoring
I have setup a WAS 6.1 ND monitor and got it working, but I am seeing a request at every interval that will not be resolved. on the server where the perfservlet is I am seeing a request of "GET / HTTP/1.0" 404 214 This results in a 404 and cuts a line in the systemout.log file for the server as: SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle / has not been defined. I don't see how the server will ever satisfy a request of "/". Is there a way to disable this request? Richard Pack

I have used the batch process to add a WAS ND 6.1 server, It started working and now is getting the message, SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle / has not been defined. I have tried deleting and adding it again but I am still getting this message. The only virtual host I have defined is for the ip address/port for the appserver that is running the perfservlet. This should be fine. What must I do to get this to work? I have done all the WAs monitoring tasks. Please help! :)

WAS 6.1 monitoring
I have failing when added a WebSphere 6.x monitor using the bulk process and csv file. I am using the bulk because the latest build does not work for ND monitors. I have done all the prerequites and have created a virtual host for the server and added the userid to have monitor authority on the cell. This is a WAS 6.1 ND discovery. notification of specific requests to a technician
is there any way i can notify one technician (who is the technician) of certain requests, that is requests coming in from senior and critical staff? i know i can notify all helpdesk calls, but i want to notify only the critical staff requests to the technician? is there anyway to do that
Counter showing accumulated value
There are some performance monitors in a router in my network that shows a constant value (say 393219.0 for example). After reading documentation and looking at opmanager database, I found that these are counters never cleared, and the nms should show the incremented value between consecutive polls. How can I tell opmanager to show incremental rather than accumulated values? The monitors are the standard "Big Buffer Hits", "Big Buffer Misses", "Buffer Create Failures", "Buffer Failures", etc. Thanks
TOS in NFA 5502
Hi, Would u tell me, how to view my TOS-bit in the NFA 5502 ? I can view the some specific information on application traffic (including TOS,TCP Flags), only if the Alarm has trigered. And, 1 more, i've set the routers to set presedences for some applications, but when i viewed in the NFA, the TOS Precedence value is set to 0. The Actual Value on my router is 2. Any ideas ?

Issue with printing PDF files

mysql slow, not getting fully backed up.
my mysql folder is about 5GB.. maybe too big, too much data.. but I know lots of people use mysql heavier. seems to take 12+ hours to back up, maybe not even successfully. have run repairdb. not sure what else to do but migrate to MSSQL. we have production MSSQl over 600GB and only takes 1:30 - 2:30 to back up. any suggestions anyone?
enhancement request for monitoring AIX cron failures
Hi, I wanted to see if there is a possibility to monitor the failed cronjobs from the cron logs on AIX servers using Application Manager? We have implemented QoS - DSCP Marking on two routers, Out of which through Netflow==>More Reports==>Troubleshoot==>DSCP i am able to see the DSCP marking on one router i.e Cisco 3745 (12.2) but other router i am not able to view the DSCP marking Cisco 2610(12.2). Through CLI interface of Cisco routers i am able to see the DSCP marking on both the routers. Kindly Help us on same.
Add full text search capabilites
Currently search only does one word and will not search through resolutions. Since finding history about tickets is such a vital part of having a service desk system, I think the ability to search for phrases or other expanded search functions, as well as searching through resolutions is necessary.
Import older Backup into new version of servicedesk
It would be nice to have a 70xx build files imported into a newer version of it. in case we loose the server but the backups are there, we could import them up.

Security and Logins
Can we get an update to the issue of AD users being able to login and submit ticketes even though they have not been imported into the Requesters section of SDP? I know a group of us brought this up at the beginning of the year but I have not really seen anything about it since. This has become a huge problem for us as a school because our students have found the address to the helpdesk and are putting in all types of tickets. I do not know why this has not been fixed yet. Hello... I would like to know if I can change how I receive a requester messsage. Meaning, instead of 'Dear Smith, John,' can I change it to 'Dear John Smith,'. Hi Monowall should be based on a barebone version of FreeBSD But when i try to do loggin to Firewall Analyzer from my monowall, nothing happens. From the log on monowall it tells me that remote host i down. The curent version says that it supports FreeBSD. Am i missing someting here? Or does Firewall Analyzer not support logging from Monowall?
