OpManager doesn't allow monitoring router ports
We use a Cisco 3550 24 FX with 2 VLAN's defined as a router, OpManager discovers it as a router (correct) and shows only the VLANS. Now I want to monitor the 24 individual (switched) ports which belong to VLAN2, but I can't add the device to the switch category because it already exists (as a router). How to solve this? memory utilization needle stuck on 100%?
I am monitoring one of our notes servers and all other counters seem to be working fine and reporting correct values, however the mem utilization is always at 100%. Being a notes server this is not outside the realm of possibility, but if I actually look at the box, the mem utilization is not 100%, its more like 70%. Any ideas why this counter might seem "stuck" like this? Cheers
Automatic refresh
I am having a problem that I think is very easy to be solved. I need to set Automatic refresh for 1 minute and also need to set the time out session to never expires. A simple change into the interface of Automatic refresh will do the magic. It is a question of having a check box instead of option boxes (of course the text of each option will have to be changed to). A suggestion would be just one check box with automatic refresh option that will enable the user to input the time in minutes if checked.
OpManager vs WifiManager on the same server
Hi, Is it possible to run OpManager & WifiManager at the same time on a windows2003 sp1 server? It seems like all services are running but only one of the two apps are up... /Marcus
Adding Windows Services for Server Behind Firewall
I am monitoring a server for a customer through their firewall and everything works great except when i attempt to add Windows Services to be monitored. I entered in the correct login/pass and it got me passed the access denied error. I then noticed tcp 135 being dropped so i opened it from our opmanager server to this server only and it then seemed to be working but i get a different error now: Error # The object exporter specified was not found. Any clue?
Can't create Custom Device - returns already in database
Hi there. I'm trying to create a custom Device a CISCO 3725 OID= .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.414 OpManager returns that the device already exists, but in actuality OpManager only has a Cisco 3700 series, which it lists as OID=.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.436 According to the CISCO-PRODUCTS mib, .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.436=CISCO 3745 I have a technical reason for distinguishing these two device types from one another, but my network event logs have scrolled so ;) the specific issue has slipped my mind. switch port notifications
Hi Opmanager is raising alerts whenever switch ports go down. Is there a way to bulk disable the notify feature so they are managed only and not notifying, as the prospect of going into each switch (~70) and unselecting 24-48 ports per switch manually is a daunting task (there isnt even an unselect all option on the config page!) RAM & HD "data not available" how to populate
On servers which initially did not have SNMP installed, I see that I have no RAM and HARD DISK information listed in "Device Details". How can I populate these fields? I have re-run "Rediscover Now", and still information is listed as "Data not available". I understand that RAM information is supposed to be automatically updated in version 5510, and I'm wondering if SNMP is necessary in order to do this?

Monitoring Win Services - Remote Location / WMI
I'm trying to monitor Windows Services on a 2k Domain Controller, in a remote location. We actually have two Domain Controllers in this location, and one is monitoring fine. The service account is a domain admin, WMI permissions are set to allow all for this account, but I'm unable to adquately monitor the service. When I click to add a new service monitor, the page label to select the windows services to monitor is there, but there are no services listed. I'm not having any undue hardship checking
serial interfaces on 2600 and 1700 series router
I have been evaluating OpManager for the last couple of days and I am very impressed. I have been able to load several custom graphs. But, my issue is with the serial interfaces on a 2600 and 1700 series router. The interface speeds are shown and the status of the interface (down or up). But, there is no graph produced from the serial interfaces. It is unable to fetch the interface details. I could find the OID for these interfaces and create a custom graph. But, should the interfaces work right

Hi! I would like to start a graph without to run the MibBrowser tool. In my case, from the Linux prompt. Is it possible? OpManager Dead shortly after upgrade to 5510
~6 hours after apply 5510. The OpManger seems dead. However, mysql/apache were/are still running. The shutdown server script did not work. I have to do kill, kill, ..., kill before restart the server(s) (need a better script to shutdown server?). Anyone experienced similar behavior? Probl monitoring disk space on Solaris with vxfs fiel system
I am attempting to monitor disk space using an eval version of OpManager 5.5 on a Solaris 8 server which has the Veritas File System vxfs. I am using the "Telnet/SSH based monitors for Solaris". The problem is when opManager creates the command, it specifies the ufs file system (-F ufs). I would prefer to omit this competely so the df command ignores file system types and generates the report. I would also consider changing it to -F vxfs if this is the only way to do it. Unable to add object to business view
I'm unable to add a server to a business view. Running version 5502 Server is an automatic discovered W2K machine. Added to business view, OK Added disk space monitor to machine with test parameters. Added second disk space monitor to machine with right parameters. Tried to delete first monitor, monitor didn't disappear. Deleted whole machine, added machine again, monitors gone. Added monitor, OK. Machine not in business view any more, unable to add, doesn't show up in both browse lists. Upgraded

Hi! Is it possible to run the script without to be root, same than MibBrowser.sh? I don't see any problem that all OpManager users can run the script from my server, but I don't want to share the root password or add extra lines in the sudo file. Any solution? (Debian-linux) Thank you,
opmanager not functioning properly
Hi, Iam using opmanager 5.5, and my servers are working fine. but opmanager is showing alarms on it.can anybody help me on that? Secondly, can i restore my data base from the databackup i have restored earlier? can u tell me how to do that ? and finally, when i try to add a new device to monitor, it takes too long, but doesnt add new device. What's the differences beetwen those 2 products. My feelings are that AppManager is the subset of OpManager, am I right?
Memory Utilization showing 100% on W2K
On certain W2K servers, I'm gettting a memory utilization of 100%. The sum of all the hrSWRunPerfMem entries is 1905148 KBytes and the hrMemorySize is 3898896 KBytes which should give a memory utilization of ~49%, not 100%. Other W2K servers are calculating correctly. All are the same build level (2195).
X-Window DISPLAY variable
FYI, if you have the X-window DISPLAY variable set to a remote machine when you start OpManager, and that remote machine is/becomes unavailable, it throws an error in OpManager when attempting to login. The StartOpManagerServer.sh script only checks that the DISPLAY variable is set, not whether it's set to the local machine where OpManager is running. The default behavior should be to run headless if either the DISPLAY variable is not set, or is set to something other than the local machine.

I just built a second Opmanager system fresh 5510 version to double check as my initial install was linked to a remote Mysql server which isnt a default installation configuration to confirm that this hotlink does not function. Basically there is no URI for the hotlink. Can anyone else confirm this same issue? I did add additional mibs to be loaded and additional devices to the device tables but other than that this is a fresh install.

Is there any way to embed an HTTP link in any of the Device Details fields? (such as the Sys Desc. field). We have an external system that contains information on each server such as procedures, asset info, etc. and it would be nice to have a clickable link to that system from within OpManager.
Today's Packet Loss
H all, After upgrading to SP 1, I don't see the "Today's Packet Loss" display on my Opmanager which is running on Linux. Is this due to me running OpManager on Linux or is this because I still have to configure something?

no detection of linksys wap54g wireless
When I use wifimanager I see my cisco-linksys wireless Accespoint. But when I use opmanager It doesn't detect it. I can't even add it ass a device. please help.
Adding a APC UPS
How can i add a APC UPS which is managed from one of our servers? The UPS doenst have an own IP number .... ? I tried adding vendor specific monitor for an APC UPS to the server, but that doesnt work.
Linux installation issues
I am currently running Linux 9.3, Enterprise edition (eval). I have experienced a lot of issues when installing OpManager. Unknown OS
I ran a discovery on my Datacenter subnet and all of my servers (400 windows 2000,2003) came up as unknow OS. We ar e currently only using WMI becuase SNMP was never installed on the servers. Is there a way to change the OS type on all of the servers at on time or do i have to click through 400 servers to change it.

My SNMP to my 2003 servers works great. But it won't detect the OS version and other thing. While WIFImanager detects this out of the box. How can this be?
slow performance of opmanager post sp1 install
Hi I upgrade to sp1 build 5510 yesterday, and the new functionality is appreciated. However I am finding that the web client has slowed down to an absolute crawl when using it compared to build 5504. Previously, navigating screens would take 1-3 seconds each, now it takes > 10 seconds to go into the snapshot for a device. Opmanager is running on windows 2000 server on a p4-2ghz with 512mb ram.
