Monitoring Win Services - Remote Location / WMI
I'm trying to monitor Windows Services on a 2k Domain Controller, in a remote location. We actually have two Domain Controllers in this location, and one is monitoring fine.
The service account is a domain admin, WMI permissions are set to allow all for this account, but I'm unable to adquately monitor the service. When I click to add a new service monitor, the page label to select the windows services to monitor is there, but there are no services listed.
I'm not having any undue hardship checking service status via Computer / management
Do you have any ideas of anything I could do to improve this?
----Follow-Up:
I installed a new installation of OpManager on my desktop to test this out further, and I am getting an "access is denied" error when attempting to create a WMI monitor.
I would suspect there is a DCOM permission at fault, are you aware specifically where I may need to edit permissions to allow the OpManager account to query WMI for windows services, and system resources (CPU, Memory, Disk)?
As stated before, in the same child domain I am able to successfully monitor another domain controller for services and system resources, just not this particular domain controller.
