How can I monitor the status of certain active processes? Looks like you can since there is a summary list of active processes shown in the device info list. I want to build alarms based on certain essential services going down. ie. Problems with OpManager 5.5 SP1
Hi there, Since upgrading to SP1 I seem to be getting authentication failures on all my devices? Also if I update a device name e.g a switch it doesn't seem to retain the name, it reverts back to IP address again. :(
Time out of Op Manager GUI
Hi, After the upgrade of Op Manager to SP 1 (5510), I found that even after I selected "Automatic Refresh" at 1 minute, I am still timedout after 10 minutes, and I need to re-login again. Any ideas? Paul

Fortigate 800 MIBs
Hi, I've been having problems with detecting my Fortigate 800s correctly. All interfaces detected are wrong, and I can't get CPU and Memory utilization. Support has replied back this morning that testing was done on their Fortigate 400s, and is working fine on their Fortigate 400s. I believe the 400s and 800s are vastly different, and are probably running on different instruction sets. I have attached the MIBs for the Fortigate 800. Is anyone able to advice on how I can get the MIB compiled and loaded
snmp on different port problems monitoring environmentals
Hi I'm new to Ops Manager. Just set it up, verified net-snmp install on my target device as per the instructions in the user manual. I set the community and port strings accordingly we use a non standard port for snmp (e.g. 6969) however op manager does not appear to be able to communicate. my community string has a period in it. could that also pose a problem? ssh monitoring is ok.
Problem with a custom monitor for printer
I'm trying to set up a custom monitor for my printer to show in % the toner supply. HI, I have been testing OpManager to monitor our fleet of ATM (cash disperser) machines. Having looked at 11 other products, OpManager comes closest to shat I need. ATM's have a number of sub-system components (Card reader, cash dispenser, Receipt Printer) all of which need monitoring. I particularly like the Server view exposed by OpManager where services appear a little indicators on the main server Icon. I have three questions; 1. Can I create a new device category that mimics the Server view?
New device type/category
When adding a new device type, there should be a pulldown with the category of the new device type (router, firewall, etc.) so you don't have to manually edit the opmanager_categoryInfo.xml file to add in the new device type names that get matched on discovery.

OpManager Device Types/Services
I am testing OpManager to monitor our fleet of ATM (cash dispenser) machines and OpManager is the closest fit I have seen for our needs (I've tested 11 different products!). Each ATM has a number of "services" i.e. Card Reader, Dispenser,Receipt Printer etc. The OpManager Server view (icon with green service states) would be my preference. OpManager on Windows 2003 sp1
has anyone installed OpManager on 2k3 with sp1? if so is there any secret to it. i have tried several times and the service will not start and when i start it manually is just shuts off after a few minutes. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Product/Documentation feedback
The documentation is difficult at best to find anything. Downloaded the .zip, the .pdf hangs about 2/3 through so I cannot get it downloaded. Really unimpressed at this point. Unless I can get this thing figured out and running and working the way "it is supposed to" in the next few days, my recommendation on this product will be don't buy. User Manual Inconsistancy
Im trying to figure out how to build custom SNMP TRAP Processors and the user manual does not coincide with version 5510. below is a snip-it from the manual. On the right, select Load Traps from MIB under Actions is not in version 5510. Plus I need to know if <OpManagerHome>/conf/mibsToBeLoaded.conf has to have mib files loaded in order of thier dependencies. Basically im trying to load the needed traps for Cisco Access Point 1100's so that the traps i get from remote users authenticating and de-authenticating
Repair Database
We had a hard power outage the other day. I tried to use the repairdb.bat in the bin folder. How To save the events older than 30 days on a disk
In the db maintenance settings you can specify the number of total alarms stored into the database and the time frame older alarms are deleted. Is there the a possibility to store the alarm database to a disk for audit reasons?

Hi, I'm monitoring thru WMI a 4 processeurs Win2000 server. It shows 98% CPU used on each processeur but it's not the reality... Most of the time it's only 2% used... Any idea ?
Sp1 conflist with Ciscosecure software
I tried updating to Opmanage build 5510. Unfortunately the Windows Opmanage service now won't start saying 'Port 2000 port needed for opmanager has been occupied by some other application'. Which is right! It's occupied by CiscoSecure ACS which is also installed on the server. Build 5504 didn't have this as as requirement. Why 5510? Also I've tried changing the NMS_BE_PORT value in wrapper.conf but no luck, I still get the same error. Is there a way around this as I'd prefer not to go back to 5504?

URL Monitoring and alerts
I have a number of URL monitors set up ... and they are monitoring perfectly ... except I have one question relating to the e-mail notifications for these URL monitors. Unlike the standard e-mail notification profile ... the URL monitor does not seem to have the option to define the FROM address for SMTP notifications. How can this FROM address (for SMTP notification) be changed / set on existing and new URL monitors ?
Re-usable URL monitors
Hi there, Is there any way to create *re-uableable* URL monitors? Having to add the same monitor, just with a different URL for hundreds of hosts seems way over the top. E.G We monitor whether a ASP script is running on all windows servers by querying /test.asp Currently it seems I have to define a new monitor for every single windows server. New Alarm Escalation feature - Run this check every xxx min
We want to be able to escalate a critical alarm, say a "router-down" alarm that is not responded to within 20 minutes. This is impossible when the process to check overdue responses is run hourly, at a minimum. Please consider modifying the "Run this Check every XX HOURS" so the increment is in minutes, as in "Run this check every 5 MINUTES.
Possible error in OpManagerServerClasses.jar
It looks like in the OpManagerServerClasses.jar there is a naming error as there is both a com.adventnet.me.opamnager and com.adventnet.me.opmanager in the jar file. The UPSDiscoveryFilter.class is contained within the tree that has opamnager as it's name.
