multiple front end Opmanagers linked to same remote MYSQL DB
Is it possible to have due to large ammount of instances that are being monitored by a single Opmanager system build an environment where you have 2 or more systems running Opmanager all linked to the same exact OpmanagerDB on a seperate MYSQL server? This would be simular to what Solarwinds Orion does. I would love to have one system dedicated to autodiscovery, while another system is doing the actual polling of the systems, while possibly having a 3rd system available just for the web/java portal.
CPU utilization for SMP servers
In testing we're weeing odd behaviour for SMP servers. E.g. The OID being queried by OpManager is .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2 Which gives a zero utilization result, *but* here follows a walk of that OID # snmpwalk -v2c -c xxxxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2 HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrProcessorLoad.1 = INTEGER: 0 HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrProcessorLoad.2 = INTEGER: 1 HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrProcessorLoad.3 = INTEGER: 1 HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrProcessorLoad.4 = INTEGER: 1 Bug? New Alarm Escalation feature - Use BV rather than Category
Currently Alarm Escalation is limited to grouping by Infrastructure Category. This prevents us from grouping our servers, for example, into critical and non-critical groups. Certain servers can wait until morning to be rebooted. Other servers might really need immediate attention. We could create a Business View called "Critical Servers" which could contain a list of these critical devices. Please consider using Business View rather than (or in addition to) Infrastructure Category for grouping devices
Performance Stats for Nortel Routers
I have a Nortel ASN router which does not show up under the available device types. When monitoring this router, I don't received any performance stats like CPU and/or memory utilization, or interface related stats. Is this a MIB or OID issue? Thanks!

Servers only allowed 1 NIC?
all my systems that are servers only show 1 nic listed. This is major bad. we have in cases 5 NICs in 1 system that is a SERVER. I DO NOT want to change the classification of the device from SERVER to ROUTER or SERVER to SWITCH to be able to monitor more than 1 NIC. Why did you guys make it this way?

today there are only 2 variations to a users rights, READ-ONLY of FULL-ACCESS. Can you make it to where this can be more granular. Also I dont know if you have it but the ability to group users (when you have more than 1) into catagory groups. Bulk Cancellation of Monitors not working -- it used to?
I can no longer remove a monitor from a group of Routers. I just noticed this, and this is a week after applying the April 29 hotfix. Emailing alerts and others
Hi, I was wondering if someone can help me with OpManager 5.5 web client. Here are my problems: 1. I cannot email alerts, even though the Resource Monitor shows 2 violations of the threshold. Opmanager Switch Port Malfunctions
Attached is a Screenshot of a Switch I am managing. Note, all the interfaces show up in the main system view.. But they have no traffic data. The Configure Ports Pop-up lists no ports what-so-ever. I have tried to totally deleting this object and re-discover it and still comes back with the same port data. What is the cause and solution to this issue if any exist?

High CPU utilisation
Has anyone experienced high CPU utilization with Opsmanager 5.5 running as a service. I have installed the evaluation version on a Compaq DL380 G3 with Win2K SP4 1.4Gb memory and the process Javaservice.exe is consuming 60-80% of CPU when application is running. I thought it may have been the discovery process that was causing the issue but opsmanger has been up and running now for over a week and still high CPU utilization. :cry:

WMI Monnitor
I have a WMI script that runs and gets the status of a printer connected to a server. The status code is converted from a number to a string in the WMI script. For example, if the status code = 3, then the string output is Idle. Is there a way to create a monitor that displays this string value and can send an alert if the string value = offline? Thanks

Reactive skins
Hi, So far, I feel this product is excellent despite some of the hiccups I am encountering. It can only get better over time as your team works on enhancing the software. Kudos to your team. One enhancement I can think of, is to have reactive skins, which are green when everything is ok, but turns amber and red when things break or happens.. pretty much like Big Brother, so that even if you are 10 metres away from the monitor, you can still gauge that everything is ok by simply looking at the green
Minor tweak to Web interface.
Please make it so when you are on a device > Password Details so that when you enter data and click <OK> it acknowledges that the passwords are updated and auto-closes that popup window. currently you have to click <Cancel> or the <X> in the upper right corner to drop this pop-up which is a small annoyance.

Busy links shows devices down
We are monitoring a couple of servers on the other side of a WAN link. When these links get busy, OpManager often reports them down and then clears the alarm at the next check. Can you set the time to wait for a response on certain devices so that we can change the ones on the other side of a link to wait longer for the response before reporting the device down. A ping can take as long as 3000 ms when the line is at 100%.

opmanager isn't managing the network because of a crital error: ________ OpManager has detected that it has lost network connectivity and has suspended all monitoring. Huawei Quidway R2630E CPU and Memory Utilisation
I have a number of routers including Cisco and Huawei. For the Cisco routers, the CPU and Memory gauges work fine but I am unable to get the same information from the Huawei routers. Does anyone know how to find these values in the MIB for the Huawei.
Reports and Web Interface
Hi, just about reaching the point where I decide whether to buy OpManager or not and would just like to know if a couple things I am missing are in the works or not :) 1) From the OpManager Client I can get a nice graph of each Service, ie IMAP, SMTP etc when I click on Graphs - Response times - I can then select say, FTP, IMAP, HTTP, SMTP etc etc I can then go into detailed view and get a separate graph for each service, perfect, just what I need for reports, trouble shooting etc showing response

Is there a way to run OpManager on a 2003 server but have it log to a mysql server on another machine? I tried downing the server and editing the conf file including putting in a opmanager user and defining a password, copying the mysql/data/OpManagerDB directory to the Mysql Server and firing it up. I see OpManager connect to the database but it dies shortly afterwards. Before I slam my head into the desk too many times I figured I would ask. Thanks In Advance.
