multiple front end Opmanagers linked to same remote MYSQL DB
Is it possible to have due to large ammount of instances that are being monitored by a single Opmanager system build an environment where you have 2 or more systems running Opmanager all linked to the same exact OpmanagerDB on a seperate MYSQL server?
This would be simular to what Solarwinds Orion does. I would love to have one system dedicated to autodiscovery, while another system is doing the actual polling of the systems, while possibly having a 3rd system available just for the web/java portal. This is based upon the extreme loads that systems will be under when you have in excess of 5000 instances being monitored. Then again there is always the issue of the stresses placed upon the Database itself but thats a whole different set of issues. Currently today I am trying to get a single system to monitor all switch ports on approximately 27 Cisco 4006/4003's and a few 6509's. so the instance count is already pretty high for a single box to accomplish the tasks without extending the monitoring interval out past an undesireable time. There are many different scenerio's that I could come up with as to why this would be great to do.
Note: if this is possible today, how does that effect the licencing of the product? Would we have to have multiple purchased copies of Opmanager or does this all revolve back to the PER USER licencing of the software?
