OpManager won't start if SEP Management Server Started First
I'm trying to install OpManager on a server that is also used as our AntiVirus management server. OpManager won't start if SEP Management Server Started First If you stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service then start OpManager, then start Symantec everything seems to be ok..... I don't see any port conflicts.... something to do with Java Virutal Machine versions I think.....? What logs do you need?
unattended availability alarm
Hello, I got a problem with 3 servers, every few minutes i have an availability alarm generated bye Opmanager (7.023). But those servers are fully operational, even when i have the alerts. I tried to remove servers from Opmanager and re create them, but same thing happen. I use Service monitoring, Performance monitoring and Url Monitors for those servers. As it generates 30 (or more) mail per hour, it's very annoying .. can someone please help ? thanks a lot C�dric
Database problem
We had a problem on Friday with memory utilization that required the server that OpManager is on to be rebooted. After the reboot it appears that there seems to be a problem connecting to the database. All of our settings are gone but we can still see our recent alarms. Today a coworker updated us from 7021 to 7024 in hopes that this would fix our problem. It did not. Has anyone ever encountered this from a reboot?
OpManager not spotting additional memory?
On Monday evening I upgraded five servers with additional memory. From that point on they have been constantly triggering alerts, most at 100%. Yet if I check the server nothing of the sort is happening. It makes me wonder if OpManager somehow still considers the old memory value 100%, while the servers now feel free to move beyond that, hence the alarms and 100% values.
OpManager Doesn't Scale Well
We have been using OpManager for a few months now, and the CPU utilization on our server is through the roof. This product really needs to start using host based agents on the remote machines to send data back to OpManager. All of the larger product suites (OpenView, Altiris, etc.) do this for the simple reason that the monitoring host will get overloaded the large the implementation becomes. We are monitoring about 140 servers and about 20 routers and switches so the polling is quite intense. OpManager
New Business View fails to save
I setup a business view, move a few things about and hit save and then hit exit, yet I am then told "No Infra Structure View found with this name."
Switch interfaces set to poll 300sec but polls every 30mins?
HI, Switch is a dell powerconnect 5324. Half of the interfaces are set to 300secs and work. Others are 900secs. Two of the 300 secs always poll at 30mins. Tried changing to another value, left then set back to 300. Any reason or fix?

Hello, I'm trying to get the sms alert working. Over in the uk, most of the phones that opmanager say they support have gone end of life. I am able to get hold of a moto v3, but it only comes with a USB cable. Will it still work? Only I noticed it says it has to be a serial cable? Many thanks.
Limit Event Log Email Notification
I have an email sent to me when any server gets a certain event log. If a server get 50 of these in succession I get 50 emails. Is there any way to limit this - eg if an event occurs n times in x mintes then stop sending email notifications. Thanks.
Business Views order
Hi, I have just migrated from v.6 to v.7. On Home Page of OpManager, in Business Snapshot view, I can see just few business views. Is it a possibility to change which business views I can see there (I would like to choose Business Views in this view) from many views I have created in OpManager v.6. cheers Slawek
Custom Devices in OpMan - Same system OIDs
Hi there, We are currently running mostly HP DL360 servers with 2003 server. Most monitors we require work in Opman. However we run several different hardware versions of the DL360 which also use different MIB OIDs for the hardware but all use the same microsoft 2003 system OIDs. We really need to make several device templates for each hardware version but we are unable to create them properly as we can only have one associated with the microsoft 2003 OS OID. Is there any way to have more than one
support for WMI based disk performance monitors
I know this has been discussed in and needed before in v.6. I never got anything running, though I was offered some scripts. Being a windows shop primarily, WMI seems to be the possible choice in gathering disk performance on my production boxes. Things I'm looking for are average disk i/o, disk queue length, reads and writes/sec,, you know, all the metrics you can get running PerfMon. Does anyone know how to do this in Opmanager.
Opmanager - no data received on one Client PC
We have installed Opmanager 7 on 3 PCs. 2 PCs are receiving data from our servers but one PC is not receiving any data from the same servers except availability, response time and packet loss. Can anyone suggest what could be different on this PC that is preventing data being received ?
Issue with MSSQL Monitor
Hi, I got wrong alarms coming from MSSQL monitoring. Specially one alarm with hit cache ratio, the threshold is 80 % and I received for all SQL Servers alarm on this counter but value is les than 80 %�. How can we fix this issue ? Regards Philippe

Missing Interface Stats after upgrade to Op7 & SP7023
Hi there, We've just upgraded OpManager from Version 6016 to 7023 and have suffered the same issue as http://forums.manageengine.com/forumHome.do?forumGroupId=49000000002007&forumTopicId=49000002642901 where the Interface stats are missing for all servers, routers and switches. If you delete the device and re-add them, the interfaces start monitoring, but it would take us weeks to re-setup all our devices with the monitors, notification profiles, etc. I have also tried the RepairDB cmd. Any help
Two Interface with Opmanager
Hi, I have a server which has got two interfaces on which i am planning to install OpMnager tool. We have few servers which are a diff LAN so for me monitor these devices i will need to put the server on that private IP which does not have access to the internet so if have Opmanager installed on a server with public and private IP will the Opmanager take both the IP;s? and reason i having two interface is the Private network does not have communication with the Internet and for me to recieve alerts
Cannot report on devices using business view in 7023
In OP6 we developed a business view that had critical LAN/WAN systems defined for monitoring and reporting. Now, in 7023 even though we are able to select that business view we can't get an availability report for the devices in that view. We are only able to get all devices, all routers, all servers, all switches etc... What are we doing wrong? Help is appreciated asap as this is a part of our normal monthly reporting for which we've relied on OpManger. Thanks.
Adding a device
Hi, I recently added a device manually to the OpManager tool,however i am not getting any alerts for that device and when i try to configure the notification profile for the device , i see not interfaces managed . When i click on the Interface Tab , i can see two interfaces on that device in the Opmanager device section. Changing Alert Variables

OPMAnager Availability Reporting
We are still using Version 6 since we are still having problems with v7. Is there a way to get a detailed availability report from a previous month? currently, only last 30 day option is the only avialable. Is there a query we can use in order to generate this? Thanks

Change of IP
Hi, I am planning to change the IP of the server on which i am running the OpManager tool, once the IP is change ,will a restart of OpManager to the get the Tool running with the new ip address or should i have to change some settings. Build 7023 unable to load F5-BIGIP-LOCAL-MIB (445KB)
Dear Support, I have just upgraded to build 7023 and the mib browser is not able to load F5-BIGIP-LOCAL-MIB anymore. IE will produce the error "Stop running this script? A script on this page is causing IE to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive" and the mib browser window will show "undefined" without any OID. There is no problem when I was using the previous build 7010. I suspect the problem lies with the build 7023 limitation of loading large mib filesize.

asp net process monitor
This is the main issue we are having, and why we are looking to WildMetrix as a possible solution. We have several web-based ASP.NET applications running on our server (they are all web based apps that use IIS). One or more of these apps is causing the CPU to deadlock. Migrating from 6 to 7 rediscovers ports and adds thresholds
I have about 300 devices (AP, routers, switches) and after migrating to the latest version (including the last hotfix) the new version automatically rediscovers ports, adds discards threshold and so I receive thousands of e-mails. I don't want to go one by one and reconfigure each device again. I have some desired ports configured in each device, it's totally messed up. I also receive loads of e-mails from 1.0% thresholds i have never configured :( Is there any way to fix it?
All Servers Disk Usage Report Not Running
Hello, I'm currently running OpMgr 6.0 Build 6010. When attemtping to run "All Servers Disk Usage Report" (partition wise disk usage report for all servers), I get the error: " No Data Available Click here for troubleshooting tips. " Yet, when I check each individual server, I'm seeing all the disk partition details. I tested a few servers by clicking the edit button next to "Partition Details of the Device (%)", then "test monitor". They're all responding just fine. Monitor A Process And What Are WMI Monitors?

Unable to add snmp monitors
Opmanager build 7004 on CentOS 4 I am not able to add the SNMP performance monitors to one of my servers. I know that SNMP is working on the server because I had these monitors added once. I have others servers that I have been able to set-up these monitors without problems. More Advanced Telnet Monitoring?
Hi, we have some servers which we'd like to monitor via telnet, however when they crash they can still be pinged, as well as connected to via telnet. The only difference is that when they've crashed, the telnet connection brings up a blank screen - no login prompt is displayed. Is there any chance the telnet (and I guess SSH, by extension?) can be extended to be like the URL monitor, so that it looks for text returned by the connection?
routers and switch availability problem.
opmanager seems to be mistakenly identifying that some of my routers and switches are down. only some, not all. it happens to the same router and switches. i routers and switches are up and working but opmanager seems to set of an alarm and detect that its down. so how do i rectify this? thanks.
