Managing General Electric UPS with OpManager 7
Hello ! I'm try to use General Electric UPS (SNMP Card) with OpManager 7. I real all forums about how to add new type(template) devices to OpManager. I try lot combinations of configuration files? but have no sucess. On Snapshot window, on UPS Load and UPS Status i not see any pictures, even "NO Data Available" not see too. System: Linux Debian 4.0 I do - Step by step: 1. In Mib Browser i add MIB of my GE UPS. 2. I add New Custom Device Template 3. in Template i add new Vendor - "GE" , assign category
Internal Server Error after applying Hotfix
Hi There We are a user of OpManager, and until now have had not had any problems with it. This morning, we applied the update �AdventNet_ManageEngine_OpManager_6_Upgrade.ppm�, which worked ok, then we noticed the hotfix �AdventNet_ManageEngine_OpManager_6_0_SP-0_2_0.ppm� After installing we now get the following error when trying to access the logon screen. Monitor Switches and PC's
If I have a switch that only uses 1 port, and that port is running I don't want to be notified that the other 23 are not being used. I would rather not un-manage those other ports because something may be plugged into that switch later and then I have to remember to put the monitor back on for that port. Thanks for any help. Similar for PC's I don't want to be notified if the user turns their PC off. If these ideas are possible that is great, if not please let me know and I will stop pursuing the
Monitor Retries
Is there any plans to implement a function that makes it possible to configure the number of retries a monitor in a device can fail before its considered as down? Or is it possible in some way already? That would decrease the number of false alarms drastically. Thanks in advance Regards /Johan
Notification Profiles
I created a notification profile under the "Run System Command" option. The command calls an .exe I made that sends out an email: C:\send_email\send_email.exe There are 2 check boxes under the command string that say Err Append and Append. What are they for? I thought they would append the error as a command line parameter. Well my program reads in any command line parameters but it is getting nothing. Can someone please tell me how to get the error message appended to my command string. Thanks.
Remove Exchange or MSSQL Monitoring

No charts with MSSQL database
Hello, today I installed OpManager 7023 on a new machine (Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2) with MSSQL 2005 Enterprise SP2. But I can see no charts in Overview, Network and Servers. If I switch to mysql database all charts are displayed fine. If I switch back to MSSQL 2005 the charts are missing. Thanks in advance, Marco

Hi, We are an upstart who have purchased the Opmanager MSP 6 software, we are very close to putting some customers online with the MSP software but were wondering if version 7 was coming out soon? I would prefer a fresh v7 launch rather than a v6->v7 upgrade... any news on the release date? Thanks
Device not adding into central server
Hi there I seem to have a problem where a device I added (Astaro Firewall - Linux) is not discovered on the Central server but is on the probe server. I don't seem to have any other problems with other devices from this probe. I did however had to rebuild this probe as I had problems withthe Apache web server. the probe was running fine until the web server could not start. Could there be a possibilty of exisitng entries in the central database for the firewall device.
Cannot change IP address of any Cisco PIXs
I am having the worst trouble changing the IP address of a Cisco PIX device I manage. We were having this trouble with the 6010 build so I upgraded us to 7023 and it still does not take. The issue is the Cisco PIX firewalls we manage. The PIXs have an IP address on their outside interface that we monitor. Occasionally that IP address will change so I have to go into OpManager to make the change. When I edit the IP address, the change will appear to have taken place and all looks well until the device
MSSQL - Performance monitor not polling or seeing databases
I am running MS SQL 2005 Enterprise on a Windows Server 2003 cluster. SQL is configured on Port 1280 which is NOT standard port, I wonder if this has anything to do with my problem ? OpManager is not polling, and cannot see my databases. But it CAN see my SQL instance name. I have tried monitoring both the host server and the sql virtual instance but neither will work. notification profiles threshold for add-on monitors

MSSQL Database Monitor Threshholds
Hi Folks, I have a MSSQL server with several databases, which range in size. I need to know for example if my TempDB grows to beyond 1GB from it's usual level of below 10mb, whereas my main DB is 25GB and obviously a 1GB threshold would produce a constant alarm. Hi - Our cyber security staff has determined that there is a significant vunerability in Opmanager implemented Apache version 2.0.47 are you planning to provide an upgrade to 2.0.48 or above? Can I just upgrade? Thanks.
Data in Database
If I remove a device from Opmanager and then readd it at a later time does it retain the historical data that it previously collected Also if I had to rebuid a probe server would I lose all data that was previosly collected for the devices that it had discovered on the probe.
Erroneous Link Performance Counters
We are having some issue with the way utilization levels and error rates are calculated/reported. We frequently get alerts for high utilization on 1 Mb links between facilities, but when I check, the actual level is much lower. The attached PDF shows OpManager reporting utilization over 1 Gb in one direction and over 8 Gb in the other even though the interface is only capable of 1 Gb. Have you seen problems like this and is there a way to correct? Thanks.

Severe Unpacking Failed
Hi I have installed OPManager on a laptop, it was working find but slow. I tryed to install it on a Dell PE1750 and got "Severe Unpacking Failed" I tryed downloading the program again but sill the same error.
Hotfix Released- Build 7023
Dear Users, We are glad to announce the Hotfix for version 7 (i.e 7023). This can be applied on OpManager with Build 7010 or higher. We request all users to upgrade to 7 and then apply the HotFix. The fixes that went for this release are, 1. Removed the physical, virtual memory, A drive details in the Disk Partition monitors. 2. Threshold Consecutive Times is not getting applied during device discovery for all the monitors. 3. Configured Threshold Values not getting applied for newly discovered device.
Ability to edit accounts in full
Currently once you have created an account you can no longer edit its access rights. Is this right, or am I missing something? Is this going to be improved, as right now a total reissuing of accounts is a little clunky.
Monitoring Unix Servers
Is there a way to monitor specific Unix applications/services in OpManager. I have it monitoring some Unix boxes succesfully but need to monitor some services as well.

Customize availability reports
Is there a way to generate availability report within a specified time range only? currently we are only able to get 8am to 8pm.. is there a way to make this more customizable? Thanks

Process for Removing a Probe
I am trying to remove an OP-Manager probe from a system. I ran the uninstall from the remove programs. However, the Advent Net Directory and several files remain and when I try to remove them manually, Windows tells me that the files are being used by another program. Business Snapshot With Short Cuts
I have 2 business snapshots and each has a shortcut to the other on the map. The one snapshot was down causing both snapshots to show as down because the shortcut on the snapshot that was up had its shortcut showing down. That makes all the sense in the world. The snapshot that was down came back up, everything on the map is green but the shortcuts on the 2 maps still show as down. When if ever does this refresh?
Memory Utilization
Hello i don't understand how to indicate the Memory Utilization. For example we have different Servers with a high Memory Utilization displayed in OpManager. But when we analyse the Server with the standard Performance Tool from Microsoft, then we don't get the same picture. What's the difference?

Binding OpManager port to IP address for SNMP traps
Hi, We have installed OpManager Pro, build 7023 on a server. The server is also running Dell OpenManage IT Assistant. Both OpManager and IT Assistant listen to port 162 for SNMP traps, so when starting OpenManager from command line StartOpManagerServer.bat it produces an error about SNMP traps port. It is possible to change the bind OpManager to a different IP address for SNMP traps, so both could listen to SNMP traps, but on different IP addresses. Regards. John.
Alert System Up (critical ???)
Many of our systems send an Alert System up trap every so often, or on server reboot. That is no problem, BUT it comes up as a critical error. Is there any way of changing this so it doesn't look like an error that needs attention. I am happy that it is up, not sad.
OPManager Interface Graphs Pictures not displayed sometimes
We use OPManager 7023 with a few cisco firewalls. But we can only see the Interface traffic Image sometimes. In most cases the image is missing and a red cross is displayed (see attachment). We deleted and readded the firewalls several times but it is always the same. Sometimes you can see the traffic interafce graph and a few hours later it doesn't work. Thanks in advance.

Cant monitor a Fedora machine
Dear all, I installed Opmanager in a Windows 2000 machine and try to monitor another machine. However, it cannot get those utilitization information for it (But it can get those utilities information from Windows machine). Actually, it show the snmp star in that machine. I did install snmpd in that linux machine. It's running and open the port for it by the firewall (tried to turn off the firewall either). Anyone can help me?
