Device templet bug.
When you add a new monitor to the Device Templates, such as Disk Usage, it will remove any manually added performance monitors and remove all the thresholds. The test. Added a monitor to a Linux(Any device works) Server (Delivered Mails) Went to "Device Templates" --> "Linux" and add "Disk Writes" "Apply" to all, the default. Go look at my Linux server. The "Delivered Mails" monitor is now gone. To make this work, all the Thresholds are gone! Is this just me? Can any one else replicate this.
Firewall Analyzer reports only show VPN clients
I have successfully integrated Firewall Analyzer (FA) as an Add On to OpManager. However, when I view FA reports for particular servers, the only clients that show up in the report are VPN addresses. In addition, I think the client IP address and the associated user for each record is incorrect. As added information, in Firewall Analyzer I have two Intranet IP addresses listed, our internal subnet as well as the VPN subnet. Any ideas?
Error when adding a device
Hi, When i go to add a device into opmanager i am recieving a strange error. When i go into admin and then into add device. i enter the name of the device and then click Add Device. OpManager then comes up the top with an info message saying Device already present in the System So i try and search for the device name. and i get the following message No results found for pc626 and it asks me if i want to add a device. Cannot start OpManager
Hello, am using RHEL5. i've installed OpManager7 successfully. but while trying to start OpManager (./StartOpManagerServer.sh) i get the following errors at first: cp: cannot stat `/opmanager/OpManager/apache/ssl/backup/ssl.conf': No such file or directory The File: /opmanager/OpManager/apache/ssl/ssl.conf does not exist inside addon check tables are created, processes start, then i get the following error msg: Verifying connection with web server ... Failed to establish connection with web server.
No CPU, Memory etc....no display.

Templates Problem
I have a Zyxel MIB file, I uploaded it in OpManager. How do I convert it to template? Also, I created a template for Zyxel with correct OID, but OpManager still failed to identify the Zyxel switches correctly. They are being identified as desktop. I have to manually change them to Zyxel. Also after changing them to Zyxel switches, Opmanager is unable to rediscover interface and I have to reconfigure the password to one of our SNMP keys - again - manually. We have over 500 switches, is there anyway
SMS Port Number
Hello. We attempted to connect a USB cellular modem for SMS, but it did not work and we uninstalled it. However, under Admin>SMS Server Settings it is still requiring a PORT NUMBER to be entered or it will not save the setting (error box: �Please enter the port number�), and obviously, we can�t enter a port number because the modem is no longer attached. How do we remove the modem in OpManager build 7027?
Availability reports
Hi, I'm trying to produce availability reports for our SLA's and i was wondering if opmanager can do reports for just our service hours. I'm trying to do an entire year but just between 8am-6pm and all i can seem to do is 8am on 1/1/07 to 6pm 1/1/08 which i assume is the full 24hr periods in between. thanks.
AutoLogin and business views
Hi, when I use the autologin feature (see knowledgebase article below) for a read only account in I cannot see the content of business views (It just says ???????????????). However when I logout and then login interactively with the same guest account business views just work fine. This behavior started in V7, V6 was fine. OpManager doing 300+ gets, ever min!
I had to check this one for my self. about every 3 minuets our OpManager server (cornfield) will hit an system that it is monitoring (coldspark, in this case) with 300+ requests. I only have 4 monitors running, all the default ones for Linux. SNMP not monitoring all Local Disks
I have a 64bit windows 2003 server that i have the free disk space in MB monitor turned on in OpManager. Opmanager is only displaying 2 of my 5 disks. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening. Also getting an error on the top of the page when i add that monitor that it is unable to draw the graph. Thanks Mike

How-to get an overview of thresholds and notfications
Hi there, i'm totally confused by my alarms and notifications. First i have roled out a notification profile for a group of servers which some rules. Sometimes there might be some changes on only one or two servers, which have additional services to observe. But when run the Quick Configuration Wizard again, changes are not additional but everything is deleted and decisions you've made before you must do completely again. How do I get a custom monitoring value (OID*0.01)
Looking to take the output from a monitor; to be exact, the Linux load value ".1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.5.2" and times it by 0.01 That value is an Integer, 9 for example. But the current load is 0.09. So to correct that problem I tried using the following for the SNMP OID: (.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.5.2*0.01) Which failed. Is this possible?

Inventory scanning.
I've installed OpManager MSP as a test on a newly installed 2003 server and added this server to our internal network. Have enabled SNMP on all the devices. On some devices SNMP is working (the blue star is there) but others don't. I'm also not able to run a software inventory, hardware inventory, etc. on any device Reason is that according to the system "Selected asset is not scanned yet". HP RAID drive status

If i run the wizard it gives the following error during the installation: error while i18n It then does not extract all the files but creates the folders. Unmanaged Networks in Opmanager 7
When I was using Opmanger 6, I had some networks I did not want to manage at that time. I used the web interface in network discovery to unmanage these networks. I have since upgraded to Opmanager 7 build 7024 and I would like to manage some of these previously unmanaged networks. I can't find any way to manage them again like I could in Opmanager 6. Is there some menu choice to manage these networks again?

Moving DataBase
Does anyone have a simple, step by step, procedure for moving the OpManager Database, logs, etc. I currently have OpManager installed on the C: partition of the machine and would like to have the data storage on the D: partition. (I need to move the data for all my AdventNet applictions)
Custom Dials and Values in Device Snapshot Dashboard

Startup delay in Initializing Web Server...
An OpMgr Ver 7.0 install on XP is always experiencing a delay during Startup either when "Loading OpManager Services..." or when "Initializing Web Server...". The delay is almost always 3-min 50-sec. After that, OpMgr starts and everything appears normal. I've got the latest hotfix (7027) and have tried repairdb but problem always appears during startup.

Daylight savings time problem
Since the daylight savings time change, opmanager did not advance the time one hour when reporting events. Now all events and alarms are one hour behind. I see that a new build is out. Will this fix the time problem? The time on my server is correct.

When I check a particular interface of my Cisco switch, for example, in the 'interface details' box it states the speed of the interface to be 1.54 Mbps. Enabling thresholds to all servers for specific items
Hi, How can I enable the threshold counters for a group, or list of devices. For example, by default, the CPU Utilization threshold is not enabled when adding a device. I now want to enable this for all my devices in the Servers catagories. Can you assist? Many thanks, as always, Derek
