Can you please tell me how I would go about monitoring in OpManager the status of HP RAID physical drives? as we would like to have that included in the OpManager servers views.
We have purchased the MSP edition of OpManager now and although not yet live, most of our customers have HP servers, as well as ourselves, although we can use the HP management software, we would like all the information integrated into OpManager.
I have loaded the cpqida.mib file which gives me the support for the RAID cards as you can see by the screen shot CompaqMIB.jpg, I have created a custom monitor and in screen shot CompaqDrives.jpg you can see that it is reporting on the 5 physical drives. But what we would like to have is the status id pulled from the information, for example the compaq RAID arrays report an snmp trap of 3034 for a drive status of 5 which is rebuilding, and a snmp value of 3036 for a drive status of 3 which is failed.
It would be nice when looking at the custom monitor to see the value for each of the drives to show, as either a 2 for ok, or 3 for failed etc, I am aware we could have event log rules to pick up the event id's but that is not what we want. In my screen shot showing the drives, we would like each drives status number next to it instead of the mib number.
From looking at the MIB file I think the entry we need is cpqDaPhyDrvStatus.
I've also attached screen shots of the event viewer event showing the HP event which lists the status numbers, just to clarify what I mean.
