Link status in business view
Hello, I've a question regarding OpManager configuration. Presenting network link between devices is in my opinion great feature. Unfortunately colour and status of the link does not change when parent device is not available because of network link outage. For example when network link is down we can't ping remote router or query its interface status via SMTP. In that case we can see on the map that router is down (not responding to 3 or 5 pools) but the link is still presented as up and running.
Firewall/Router Monthly Traffic Report

Database backup not working since 1/1/2009

Hello, I am trying to add mibs to Opmanager but get the following message: Error parsing MIB:extreme4.mib Exception while loading MIB:IMPORTS failed: Could not find the file : D:/OPMANA~2/./mibs/RMON-MIB. Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of rom-mib please? Many thanks Stuart
Trying to use MySQL 5 for OpManagerDB on Linux.
I am having speed problem with the built in MySQL 4. So I figured I would try to use MySQL 5 that is built into my Redhat 5.2 server. Found a basic "how to" at http://support.opmanager.com/AddSolution.do?solID=19801 So I setup my new mysql database, and edited the database_params.conf to reflect the changes. But when I try to start Opmanager I get the following error. Judging by the fact that Opmanager does create may tables, I guess mysql is setup correctly. What am I missing? ./StartOpManagerServer.sh
Memory Utilization
Hello, Is it possible to monitor the threshold of memory utilization in any unit other than percentage? We would like to know if the free memory goes below a certain amount, e.g. 200mb instead of over 75% for example. As far as I can tell this is not possible but just wondering if anyone has found a workaround? Thanks Stuart
Can't change/delete one file monitor
Hi, I have one file monitor checking one folder every 5 minutes, at first i had i report if there were more than 5 files. But that was a to low value, I have tried increasing the value, but the value of 5 still is active. I have tried to delete the file monitor and added it again, but no luck. I deleted it yesterday, but today it still sends SMS with an alert that says the value are over 5.. What is wrong here?
MS SQL - Database Tuning Advisor
Has anyone run the database engine tuning advisor against the OpManager database in MSSQL? We have run some profile traces, and then put those into the tuning advisor, and it seems to be making a lot of suggestions. What is Adventnets stance on this? Could we do any harm to the database by implementing the recomendations made by the advisor?

Switch Port Mapper and Extreme Switches
Hello, I have several Extreme Switches, Alpine 3808 and Summit 200's, and I am trying to view details using the Switch Port Mapper on any of these switches. Looking through other forum entries I have added in the correct MIBS but when I check the Switch Port Mapper all it shows me is what ports have something plugged in or not) It does not show me what is actually plugged in which I what I am led to believe should happen. Any ideas how to get this to show the correct data? Not sure if it is relevant
Empty Device Template "IBM Netview 6000"
I need to know how to populate the standard data back into this template. I suspect that it is blank because of a preexisting device that had the same OID (.1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3). Ultimately, I would like to convert over to the built in one, but neeed it to have correct monitors. Thank you for any consideration you can pay. Also, I have attached a screen cap of what the device template looks like now.
can't select single value from SNMB
I'm testing OPmanager in our organization, but for I have a problem with the temperature sensor we are using. I created a custom monitor, loaded the mibs and it was very easy. My problem is that I cannot enter the OID manually, I have to select it using MIB browser. From the MIB Browser I can select .1.3.6.1.4.1.13045.1.1.2.2.1.4 which will return the temperature and humidity. I want to retrieve temperature and humidity as a separate value in order to create threshold. From MIB browser (From Admin)
Windows Service Monitors not responding
Hi, We have a couple of new servers that I am wanting to put into OpManager; I have set them up and they seem to be pulling back data etc all fine. Specifically I was wanting to monitor a Windows Service (SQL Server Analysis Services / MSSQLServerOLAPService). So I discovered the services (using the wizard) and selected the service, associated it with the device. All looked fine. Status is green. No troubles. So I tested it. I stopped the service, pulled the polling interval back to 1min and waited
problem associated with op manager connectivity
hi, i am currently using the 30 day trial version of op manager and have encountered a problem associated with the actual network connectivity. The device that i have imported has been successful however monitoring of the device will not be implemented 'cause an alarm is raised informing me that your network connectivity is lost and will not continue monitoring until connectivity is established. note that connectivity to the net is working perfectly. please send feedback asap cheers, Francois

Email notifications for interface threshold - bugs
I have 2 bugs for interface threshold notifications: 1. email notification work only if I select all interfaces, partial choice does not work 2. Out of box HP servers monitoring
Hello, Can you please add HP servers hardware monitoing 'out of box' in OpManager ? HP servers have got the Insight Management System (iLo) and software agents, which can be monitored via SNMP. iLo can send traps for any hardware and software events. Thanks.

SNMP Trap Not Returning Data
Hi, I am puzzled; we have a few server which are monitored by OpManager and they all have their data being recorded; all except one. The following is stuff I have done to date: 1) Restarted the OpManager service 2) Checked that the SNMP service has started on this server 3) Restarted the SNMP service 4) Confirmed that there is a PUBLIC trap available and that it is not locked down with security 5) Checked that the same user account that is pulling the data for all the servers is the same. OpManager for nodes monitoring
I need to monitor the status of about 300 devices with static IP address. Can I: (i) Import a list of sites with names and IP Addresses? (ii) View the status of all 300 sites regardless of whether the sites are active (active, green) or not (alarm, down). (iii) Setup the view of nodes using user defined names in a row/column matrix. Availability report
HI, I am looking for a custom report that needs to be scheduled daily, weekly and monthly; the requirement is to generate a single report mentioning the Uptime (%) for each host polled. For example, if there are 100 devices the report should provide the Uptime (%) of all 100 devices in one single report. Any help is appreciated. - Kris
MSP: high virtual memory usage on mysql
Can someone tell me why the probe has to use 480MB of Virtual memory for the mysql server? This seems WAY out of range just for a probe. I found the changememorysize.bat and change it from 250M to 100M but that did not seem to change the mysql usage. Is there a way to tune this down? all of the probes that we will use will only have about 10-20 devices. Thanks Rick

How can you change a system from being pinged etc. via its name instead of a fixed IP? I see this has been introduced but I can't see how to change it.
OpManager - Add new devices to new site
Hi All, I am new to OpManager and looking for some help on "I already have a site 'AllDev' created on OpManager during the installation and more devices were added to that site. Now i created a new site and i just wanted to divide the IPs based on Branches (all branch IP routers should reside in Branch site) and others in the earlier created site 'AllDev'. Hi, I am setting up a email notification that sends an email to SMS company, however the format that Opmanager sends (with plain text selected) is not supported. I have attached two text files: Opmanager(not working).txt - Opmanager plain text output that doesn't work Outlook(does work).txt - Outlook message that does work. Anybody know if we can change opmanager output? P.s I have tried HTML and both options.

Hello. I have configured a Juniper Firewall with OpManager 7.2. I have enabled SNMP on the firewall, so I can obtain data from OpManager.
