Hi, Does opmanager 5.6 support device with snmp v2c ? I have access point 1200 (cisco) and this device are running snmp v2c, when I add this device in opmanager appears like not snmp device. If opmanager running snmp v2c, Why I don�t manager this device in opmanager console?
Traffic values on interfaces are not the real values
Hello all, I`m having problems while I monitor cisco routers/switches interfaces, the value that i collect and graph, is not the real value that the interface shows me on the device or with a traffic monitor. Has any one had this issue before ?? Thank you very much, cheers JP
Traffic Monitors working, but interfaces show N/A
On the snapshot page of one my servers, for example, I have 6 traffic monitors listed via SNMP. They are RX/TX errors, traffic, and utilization. I can click on any of them and see data and when I click on the test monitor button I get a green light. At the bottom of the server snapshot page is an "interfaces" category but under the headings for RX/TX utilization, traffic, and errors they all say N/A. Why is this? Another of my servers has the same Intel MT GB NIC and it has values under the RX/TX
Window 2000 SNMP do not get recognised by version 5.6
Testing the version 5.6 at the moment and noticed it does not recognise Window 2000 server with SNMP. Version 5.5 recognised the same Window 2000 without any problem. When using MIB Browser under 5.6 to GET information from the Window 2000 server, it returned no such parameters, etc, etc. Are there something we need to configure in order to support W2K server, this problem does not seem to happen to W2K3 server. Editing Business Views
Greetings, We are evaluating your OpManager platform. I downloaded and installed build 5604 yesterday and have been playing with it. While trying to build different Business Views, I have noticed the the java client does not act in a consistent manner. I can create a view and place shortcuts and connections on the view but when I go back to change the Display Label, it will not keep the change. I have also had problems where I create a new view then have the hardest time selecting it to place icons
feature request: NRPE
We just recently bought OpManager and I am setting up monitoring now. One thing I'm really missing coming from Nagios is NRPE, which is an open protocol that is used by several open source monitoring systems. I'd really love to be able to use NRPE to have servers report back things where SNMP is not as appropriate. NRPE in OpManager should work with or without SSL, optionally. Not only does NRPE report back "OK", "CRIT", or "WARN" but it also can give back metrics for graphing purposes. Implementing
Better Quick View Monitoring.
The monitoring on Maps-->Details is very nice, but it is not customisable and does not include enough monitors. It would be nice to be able to click Details to see a one-shot, quick-glance view of all the servers health. But we need to be able to determine additional monitors in this area - e.g., CPU, Memory, HD usage. What does everybody else think? David.
Logs/Alerts for configuration changes
Hello, Is there a way to have logs/alerts about configuration modification in OpManager currently ?? Some features that I would like: 1/ it will be great to have the possibility to sort Business Views Infrastructure (left box), to have display sorted in web client. 2/ Also, I think it will be interesting to add choice to create "Device dependencies" with several devices (utilization of redundancy). Alarms generating even though ports are unmanaged.
I have some Cisco devices that are generating alarms even though I have the ports as unmanaged and unnotified. The alarms are coming from a Multiflex Trunk card that I use for a PRI. We have IP Telephony and my routers are voice gateways as well. I turned off the management on the voice cards since the ports are up and down when they go off hook. I am also wondering when will extra Cisco MIBs be added. I currently use the following Cisco Equipment Cisco 3725 & 3745 Routers, 3560 POE switches, 1760
OpManager sometimes missed the data polls.
Could you tell me how to specify data poll timeout value and retry counts for SNMP ? OpManager can not get the data from some switches around once a 2 polls. I have sent the details information to support@opmanager.com.
OpManager hangs ... Java engine problem? (with logfiles)

Cannot access to the Web Management interface (logon fails)

Invalid meter in OpManager
Dear team, I have some problem in using Opmanager. I can display the meter for CPU and memory Utilization. But I can't display the meter of disk utilization. I am monitoring serveral URLs using server based URL monitors, a notification profile is connected to alert when they are down and also when they are up again. When the URL goes down I get one email message... fine, but when the URL comes up again I receive 5 "The URL is up" messages. I have repeated the test by using different servers and creating a new notification profile, but have the same results each time.
Opmanager doesn't start....
Hi, I installed OPManager 5.6 on Windows 2003 Standard Server. After installation finishes, OPManager starts and work properly. But; if I shut down Opmanager or reboot the machine, it never starts again.... I tried to run Opmanager from the command line (with loglevel=INFO parameter in wrapper.conf file) and saw that there was a problem about mysql. But mysql_nt process was working and I could connect to mysql server and made some database operations. How can i correct this? Please help me.... Ozguc.
Quick config wizard question
Here's the situation and question. I have three servers and I want to monitor the RX traffic on all three, for example. I can create the monitor and add it to the servers group but nowhere during the process does it "bind" to the NIC or ask which NIC I want to use in a multi-homed box. So, the test monitor function fails. It also doesn't give me the chance to change the monitoring frequency during the wizard so I'm stuck with the default. What if I don't want that default value? Device Template
One of my complaints about your product is that its a lot of work to setup a new device. I'd like to see a new device template. For instance, when I add a windows server, I need to the do the following: 1. Add Device. 2. Set the windows password. 3. Add Notification Profiles to the device. 4. Add the Event Log service monitor. 5. Add Event Log Rules to this device. 6. Add Vendor specific monitors. It would be nice to have a template that I could select that adds this stuff for me. Adding in a New Device
Hi, Just wondering. Just installed OpManager and added in 4 services using the Admin-Device options. 1 server ended up in the server view, 3 services ended up in the workstation view. I seemt to be missing something here. What determines the view that the device ends up in? and once added into the incorrect view I could find nothing on moving the device, or deleting it and adding it in again. Hello, Very imprest with the product, one problem on current installation though. I'm currently evaluating OpManager 5.6 (Build: 5604) on a workstation (running as a service) monitoring around 10 servers (mix between unix, linux and windows) and some other network devices. Several times during a day I'll receive "Service Down" on almost all my servers and services. I'm using the standard (SNMP?) "Service Monitors" and it works most of the time. Creating Event Log Rules...
What does "Category" mean when you create an Event Log Rule? Is that the same as "Type" in the Alarm report? If you don't fill out a user then does it just filter for all users? David.
Ability to Search Event Log Rules.
It would be great if there was a way to search the Event Log Rules we have created. For example, what if I see that MyServer01 is throwing an EventID 5 regularly, but I want to ignore it. I could create a new rule, but I might be duplicating a rule that I already created but forgot about (b/c at the time only MyServer02 was having this problem). David.

Hi all, I have trouble to use some SSH based (resources) monitors, it works perfectly with telnet, but not with ssh with the same config. Since I remember had a message in opmanager (linux version) about installing by hand ssh factory, I wondering If i need to do that too in Windows version. Thanks
New OpManager MSP (EE) Edition
Have anyone tested the new upcoming (beta) version of OpManager? Now its including a Central Server and Probe installation. I know its not a final release and it contains some problems and bugs, but hopefully reporting will prevent bugs from the next release. Is it possible to assign or attach a profile to a particular threshold notification? I have created different drives on our SAN and want to send "Free disk space" threshold violations to specific people for each drive.

Alarm Escalations Stopped Working!
I tried to set up two Alarm Escalaction rules to send mesages to two email addresses for "Critical" and "Any" events, and only one worked. So, then I tried to put two addresses in the To field "user1@domain.com;user2@domain.com". That didn't work. So, then I tried the two separate rules again with 1 Minute escalation for testing, and none work now. I have tried using the Web UI and the Client, and deleting the rules and recreating them. None of my escalations work. Please help! Thanks! Brian
Question on notifications
I have two systems, A and B, that run a service, SERVICE, that is identical. The way the configuration is set up SERVICE can only run on one system. i.e. if A is running SERVICE, B cannot run it and vice versa. Throughout the day the development moves the from one server to the other. As long as the service is up we are operational. But if the service is not up on any system, we are down. Is there a way to set up a notification that will poll both systems and send out an alert whenever SERVICE is
Opmanage instability
Hi Over the past few months, Opmanager has been getting a bit unstable. Things like * HTTP 500 errors when trying to log in * Login screen presented but cannot log in, browser hangs * Viewing some interfaces or adding new devices hangs browser * Alarms not clearing, resulting in phantom 100% downtime OpManager is managing about 150-200 devices, on a P4-2.4ghz with 512mb ram. Can you please advise on ways to stalblise the product? Thanks David

Is it possible to disable the alarms generated when a desktop is shutdown yet still poll it to get statistics on hardware/software changes? I see the option in monitoring intervals to uncheck the desktop. If I uncheck this, will OpManager continue to monitor the stations for hardware/software changes? Thanks

it seems that OpManager doesnt feel MSSQLAGENT named instances because it doesnt looks like SQLSERVERAGENT but SQLAgent$instancename... ...or... may be I dont understand something ? :(
7 Day graphs showing straight lines on all devices.
Hello, for the past 2 days we have had OpManager reporting the 7 day graphs as straight lines for all monitored devices on OpManager. The 30 Day values and current graphs work fine - just the 7 day ones appear to have got confused. Could somebody shed some light on this please? The lines are either flat or at an angle with no relation to the values obtained during the last 2 days. I have restarted the management server, but no joy. Thanks - Adrian.
