feature request: NRPE
We just recently bought OpManager and I am setting up monitoring now. One thing I'm really missing coming from Nagios is NRPE, which is an open protocol that is used by several open source monitoring systems. I'd really love to be able to use NRPE to have servers report back things where SNMP is not as appropriate. NRPE in OpManager should work with or without SSL, optionally. Not only does NRPE report back "OK", "CRIT", or "WARN" but it also can give back metrics for graphing purposes. Implementing NRPE in OpManager would have an immediate payback in the form of the rich array of NRPE scripts that are out there for Windows and UNIX/Linux hosts and also it shifts some of the load of monitoring off of the OpManager box and onto the hosts that it is monitoring.
