High CPU usage
Like the feel of this product but still getting problems with high CPU usage between 60% to 80% when the application is running. Task manager reports Java.exe is hogging the CPU when app launched. Is anyone else experiencing this problem currently running it on a Compaq DL380 with 1.4Ghz CPU 1.5 Gb memory. :cry:
OpManager: Managed Fedora Core Server Problem
Hi, We are team of school that implement network management using your OpManager 5.5 Free Edition. We facing the problem to manage the Fedora Core server. We already install the net-SNMP package on the server and the command SNMP-walk is sucessful get response from it. But, the server added to OpManager is shown as non-SNMP node. No blue star appeared. We need further guide on it and looking toward hearing from you asap. Thank You! FYI, we installed the OpManager at Windows Platform (XP Prof.).
Dell 2850, not recognized as SNMP enabled
I have a Dell PowerEdge 2850 with dual NIC interfaces. I have tried adding/deleting the server using both IP's. Neither one shows as being SNMP enabled. This server is running Windows 2003 Standard. I recently installed 3 brand new Dell PowerEdge 750's, and the 2850. I configured SNMP exactly the same on all 4 machines. The 3 750's detect SNMP just fine, the 2850 does not.
Alert notification sounds don't work
Hi, Having installed the free version of OpManager on a test machine, I found that I had to reinstall Java after installing OpManager to get the alert notification sounds to work - but now, installing it on the machine intended to be used as a network monitor, this doesn't seem to work! Should the sound function work right 'out of the box', or do I need to copy / run something before they will work? (Also, is there any way to get a sound to loop until the alert is cleared?)
CPU, Disk Space, Memory not polling
I'm not sure if the SNMP is not configured correctly or what, but these items are not being polled / data collected correctly. Also exchange monitor seems to appear as always sbeeing down but I know this is functional- any assistance would be great. Thanks, Tony
Problems monitoring servers with OpManager
I've enabled the SNMP on all servers but aside from one server, I cannot view the graph or whatever information regarding the servers. I'm currently using OpManager to monitor 4 windows 2000 server and two Solaris 8 servers. Although all the servers have SNMP enabled, OpManager doesnt show the blue star indicating it. One of the servers with a blue star indicating SNMP enabled doesn't even show the graphs for the Resource Monitors and I cannot generate the report for the server. Can anyone tell me

OpManager 5, Linux (Fedora), cant access via WEB, Client ok.
New install of OpManager 5 free on Fedora 2. Had issues with 2 shared libs which I installed from RPM's which stopped the server and client running. However, while I can run the server and the client ok on the box, any connection to the WEB interface results in the logon screen where I login ok but the next page just shows the word "Error!" and a hard break (line). I have re-installed but get the same problem. Anyone know what the problem is and the fix please? I cant see anything similar on the
406 error in URL monitor
Recently i've seen an error in monitoring one of our websites. This is the error i get. 406: The resource identified by the request is only capable of generating response entities which have content characteristics not acceptable according to the accept headers sent in the request. "; It worked fine for a while, but i am not able to get this error cleared. I've deleted the object, recreated it, and i still get this error The website is functioning as normal. Any thoughts?
I can't find device to add to business view
Hello, I have discovered a new device by IP address. We have not created a forward or reverse DNS entry for security purposes. Opmanager shows the device as managed (blue start in upper right corner). The problem occurs when I try to add the device to a business view - right click, properties. The device does not show in the "All devices" list. How do I add the device to my business view? Thanks in advance.

Hi, it would be great if the following features could be added to one of the next releases : 1) Rule-based notificaton Some devices can send e.g. syslog traps to OpManager. The trap OID is always the same, but the content may vary considerably. Some 'syslog-traps' are interesting, others not. It would be great if the uninteresting ones could be filtered out by e.g. message content (matching a string). In the notification-profile, a filter could be implemented by adding a 'criteria option' check box
SNMP Mibs and browsing
Hello, We are testing OpManager 5.5. We really like the way OpManager uses SNMP. Understanding SNMP can be so difficult to understand. At the same time we are new to using SNMP After looking at OpsManager It seems to take some of the trouble of dealing with Mibs from other devices easier. I am having trouble understanding how to browse a MIB and find a particular OID. For Example I have a MIB for a Bay Switch, how would I find the particular OID for say CPU usage? Monitor processes on Linux
Is it possible to monitor a running process (daemon) on a Linux Server. I would like OpManager to notify me if the process stops. It would be great if it could also re-start the process/server. This would be something like the Windows Services Monitor. Thanks for your help John Ponting
Grouping Server IP addresses
I've installed the demo of OpManager, but can't figure out if I can do the following: Auto Discovery recognises computers with many IP addresses as being several different machines. Is it possible to associate these addresses or to create a 'container' to hold all these addresses so that the display shows one icon per machine?
Notification profiles not working
Hi, We setup the mail server settings and we can send a test email just fine, but when we setup notification profiles and assign the profile to certain devices/clients, they will NOT send an email out. Is there anyway to debug? We really like this product, but we can't even get past the testing of notification emails... ps..I also have my profile to monitor everything and we have a printer that is down, but no alert is being sent out. My profile is even assigned to the printer! I also looked at the

Hi Our OpManager checks a router and his interfaces. The router has a 2Mb line to Customs Belgium (Serial0/0:0) and Customs Holland (Serial0/0:1). Hi i just recently compiled snmp -ucd version, and I got the cpu , memory, disk utilization working, but when I attempt to add the snmp disk partition utilization, it is failing. How can I get it to work properly. The community string is correct because the cpu , memory and disk utilization functionality works. Monitoring Cisco temperature
Hi, I'm trying to monitor the intake temperature on my Cisco 3845 routers. I'm using the inbuilt vendor-specific monitor to do this, and it's querying the following OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3.1 I can query this with the MIB browser (I have CISCO-ENVMON-MIB loaded), and I can even graph it with MRTG. However, there are no graphs in OpManager! When I open the graph window, it just says "NA" - nothing else! Hope you can help, alec
URL and Web server
Hi, We are still busy to test OpManager and our last day is coming......... We monitor Web Servers. Good But all of our web services ( URL ) refers to a virtual IP address. With this and a auto-discover, we monitor each URL separately. If the physical server goes down, we have X servers which go down... But, we can, with a server monitored, add an url to check. Like that, If the server goes down, all URL aren't monitored anymore. With the first method ( auto-discover ) we can add all URL servers
Authentication Errors in Build 5504
I am experiencing this same Authentication Error issue in the latest build (5504), that was discussed in a thread earlier (and was fixed using AdventNet_ManageEngine_OpManager_5_SP-0_6_2.ppm ). The behaviour and test results are exactly the same ... it behaves like the SNMP community string 'public' is hard wired into the code somewhere. Alarm on SNMP Get Failure
I have some unix servers running a custom application. They also have a custom snmp agent running locally on the machine. My problem is that if the agent is not running, OpManager shows the status as green although it may be having an issue. Is it possible that in a future release, you can configure OpManager to alarm if an snmp get fails? Thanks, Jeremy
False Threshold Notification
I am getting a threshold rule violation for lack of free disk space. When I go and check the resource threshold rules for the device in question, I don't have the threshold specified that opmanager is squaking about. This is really annoying, any ideas?
OpMnager error on startup and missing interface data
